You have asked us what is happening right now in Japan

specifically Tokyo...now as of now Tokyo is not under a lockdown I know some

rumors are out that we are not ....now we are kindly asked to stay inside if we

can meaning "do not go out on the weekends" but during the weekday people

in Japan have to still work. so in this situation many companies have thought

okay if the government is not putting a lockdown on this, how can we still

protect our workers who are coming in to work every day.  here we are at my company

right now and I'm gonna tell you what my company is doing. not all companies are

doing this but these are certain steps and measures that are here to keep us

safe and maybe you can take them as reference for what is happened in Japan right now to keep safe

maybe little steps that you might be able to

implement into your working life in case you can or still have to work so on that

note let's see what my company is doing right now here in Japan

first thing coming into the office from the outside you can already

see it: All of our workers have to wear a mask and keep that mask on while you're

working all day it's to protect you and it's to protect others so face masks

don't only wear them on your way to work with them also in the office

Now coming into the office the very first thing here is a sign that says

because of the virus please disinfect your hands with alcohol there's a

alcoholic bottle here that you're supposed to use at the front desk

however if in case you missed that one there is a second one right here in

front of the elevators cuz sooner or later everyone will have to go up these

elevators and it is an easier place so they put on an extra desk so you can

just infect your hands while you're waiting for the elevator

number three there is still one more thing you should be doing every day

before you head into the office and that's right here.... so they put down a

Taionkei this measures your temperature in your ear

there's also instruction manual down there in case you don't know how to use

it to measure your temperature every day and then you have a piece of paper each

one of the workers has it where they write down their temperature this is

counting for all full employed people here so they can either measure it at

home or they can measure it when they come into the company to check what the

current temperature is day by day ok let's try it

luckily there are disinfectant wipes here otherwise that would be very

reluctant to try what everyone else has done you can actually disinfect the

Number 4 there is one more thing we'd like

everyone to do before they go into the office the idea is to leave as many

bacteria and virus and germs outside so here at each toilet

there are several things lined up here we have soap we have again alcoholic

disinfectant to use after you wash your hands and this one over here is to

gargle now in Japan even in schools kids used to get told from very very young

age for the last couple of years to always gargle when you come in from the

outside that also helps you get rid of bacteria and similar things before you

actually go into school or into your home so step by step we're going to go

now you can gargle with just water that's fine but it will be more

efficient if that's actually a gargling mixture here as well so we even have

tiny little cups to help us with the gargle stuff ....we mix this one then with

this should get like all the extra germs of bacteria and dust

and whatever your breathe in out not all but as much as possible ideally

Ideally you shouldn't just gargle once and spit that out ideally you should gargle two

to three times to really get your mouth fresh and clean

other so usually there's a seat in between so we don't all crowd together

we're also asked to wipe down all the areas where someone was sitting again

just to make sure there's nothing else remaining on

most of my colleagues are currently on flexi time or are actually asked to stay

at home and work from home but some people still have to come into the

office and in order to protect them there's also another section year and

guess what more disinfectant wipes and there's also a surface cleaner so you're

supposed to spray your desk before you come to work before you start working at

the end of working and wipe it down with the cloth get it nice and clean and

again there's also again disinfectant spray for surfaces or for your hands

our company is also doing announcement three times a day over the speakers so

all the people working here get reminded to do the bare basics that you have to

be doing wash your hands open the doors open the windows for ventilation and

similar things so this happens three times in our company and I am just
