be there.
In the insect world, there are few species more complex than the humble, and they live in intricate societies with huge populations.
And our master communicators sounds a lot like our own world.
So how hard could it be to live exactly like ants?
Well, let's first look at how ants live.
There are very hard lines when it comes to defining what your social classes within an ant colony.
Highest up is the queen.
Then come the workers and soldiers who are equally important.
And then there are developing eggs that the queen has laid Queen Sole purpose is to mate lay eggs and be taken care of by her workers, some of which are queens to be.
She only needs to make once, and then she can continuously lay eggs instinctively, knowing that she must grow her colony.
She will be the largest aunt and will have wings until she mates for the first time.
Queens can live anywhere from 5 to 30 years and carry up to 60,000 eggs at a time.
But even though there's a queen, the guys who make all the decisions are soldiers and workers.
But they aren't guys at all the vast majority of soldier and worker ants are female.
Larger soldier ants defend the colony from intruders such as spiders or other bugs with their big mandibles.
It's like jaws.
The workers air smaller.
They oversee bringing food back to the colony, taking care of the queen building and maintaining the nest and some of them even farm fungus to eat.
Real power that the queen has is that she can choose what occupation each egg will have and whether they'll be male or female.
Like I said, the soldiers and workers are mostly female.
In the and world, males aren't much use other than for mating.
Those eggs that are chosen to become soldiers will be fed mawr so that they can grow larger and support those big mandibles.
But most of the eggs will become workers, since they do so many different jobs.
Now, if you think it's all too different from us humans than you might be surprised by what I'm going to tell you, like us ants make sure that their populations congrats.
The secret here is that individuals conjoined an ant society anonymously.
Humans do this too.
We are simply born into society and we know the importance of continuing to populate the earth.
Ants are constantly expanding and modifying their nest to make sure that there's room for more ants, just like we do with cities.
And they're also known to join colonies together to form super colonies.
Our communication methods are like ants.
It's mostly about those pheromones, but ants can communicate through touch, sound and body language.
Sounds like us.
Think of ant pheromones as our cell phones and new additional talking with their antennas.
And they allow the ants to smell in here, if you will.
We humans really need touch.
Think of the importance of nurturing a new baby.
And if you pay attention, you can tell if someone doesn't like you by reading their body language.
Our body language is complex, just like ants.
Ant nest can spread for miles just like our own infrastructures.
The largest ant nest ever found was in Argentina, and it was 3700 miles wide like us, and are sophisticated enough to create an organized, these elaborate infrastructures.
Think of our roadways, bridges and buildings.
If you could see inside an ant nest, you'd see tons of tunnels with ants marching along like traffic.
Everything would have its place and function.
Food would have a place to be stored and equivalent of a fridge, and a special area would be devoted to the queen and her young.
So if we live like ants, what would everyday life be like?
Well, it would be exhausting, that's for sure.
After all, we'd constantly be working.
Unless you're the queen, that IHS, if you are, then you have it made.
Most of us would be female.
Everyone would have to learn how to interpret pheromones and signals that colony members are trying to send to you.
If you're big and strong, you'd be a soldier posted around the borders of our home and protecting it from enemies and interlopers.
You'd have to learn who is a friend and who is foe and fight if you have to.
It also have to be okay with taking orders from fellow soldiers and offering help when asked.
Soldiers must be team players.
If you're a worker and most of us would be, you'd oversee pretty much everything else.
Some would take care of the queen and her young, bring her food and getting rid of her waist.
Others would go out and gather food for the whole colony.
Venturing far from home can be dangerous, but you'd have safety in numbers.
Another group may do some housekeeping around the nest and make sure that it's free of waste and reinforced.
Some of us may even be in command of farming.
Some fungus for dinner.
There be a fungus among us.
So could humans really live like ants?
Like I said earlier, we have a few things down like ants do humans bill huge infrastructures and we can communicate well.
We are highly adaptable, so we can come together and make it work.
Our survival would depend on it.
Most of us humans like our relationships or social creatures like answer.
Humans also have societal rules and lines.
Although they may not be as clear as they are for ants, we might enjoy this simplicity of clear boundaries.
Also, you'd have golden job security.
There would always be work available, but there's a catch.
You have to pretty much give up your personal identity and individuality, and most of us won't have that.
We'd have to be content with serving the queen in having only one or two jobs.
You do the same thing every day.
We would live in a high population density, and humans might run into problems with that, such as disease and stretching.
Resource is the working hours would be long and relentless.
We would also have to rely a lot on our environment.
Depending on our location, a rainy or sunny day could make or break us bottom line.
We really have Maurin common with ants than we think.
In fact, some scientists say that our behaviors air more like ants than our closest relative, the chimpanzee.
Aside from being like our societies, ants have also developed ways to deal with bigger problems like disease.
Distribution of resource is and sustainable farming.
This is the biggest thing we have in common with ants.
We both know how to deal with the big problems.
Which side are you on?
Do you think humans could live like ants?
Let me know.
Down below.
We could also learn a thing or two from the little guys.
Ants have been around since the dinosaurs and really haven't changed all that much, so they're doing something right.
This means that they've survived one disastrous environmental event after another, including the wife, out of the dinosaurs and really know how to work as a team.
Their lives depend on it.
They also never let anything go to waste.
For example, if part of a food item is inedible, it may be broken down into something that can reinforce their nest.
Answer also, master communicators who are capable of speaking in 12 different categories of signals.
By the way, a fact that doesn't let me sleep.
Ants outnumber us by ah lot.
The human population is around seven billion.
Scientists say that there are up to 10 quadrillion ants on Earth at any given time.
Yeah, that's a real number.
To put that into perspective, this number means that there are about one million ants to each human.
Besides the Arctic and a couple of other places, ants are able to survive just about anywhere and cover most of the globe.
Ants really rule the earth.
If we were going to live like ants, we'd have a lot of catching up to Dio.
Does that bug you?
