  • learning a language is more than just language.

  • It's about understanding a different culture, lifestyle and how they see the world.

  • With thousands of people coming to study in Japan and the big cities, I felt like they were missing out on experiencing a deeper side of pen.

  • So that's why I've decided to start a new kind of Japanese language school and the countryside, combining language with culture and experience, study Japanese in a renovated old school and practice what you learn after classes by interacting with the locals, doing the different activities and events.

  • To understand the culture more and most of all, immersed yourself and become part of the community.

  • It's time to know only learn the language but live in many schools and the countryside of Japan, a closing down due to the lack off students and for the local community, it's hard to see a place where so many memories were made shut down and become unused.

  • Imagine what the locals feel when the school closed down, and now being back here and seeing well renovated and going to be in use again.

  • It must be a great feeling.

  • This school has recently being reopened and the first floor will be used as a community space where the locals can get together for events and activities, or the rooms on the second floor as spaces to rent out, encouraging more entrepreneurs and companies to work in the countryside.

  • And I've decided to come together with my friend to open a Japanese language school here, circa, has a company called Take Me to Japan, and she has helped many people come to Japan by finding them the right language school.

  • So with Saca's feedback from students and knowledge with Japanese language courses, we have decided to come together to start a new kind of Japanese language school and the countryside.

  • The countryside was actually where my interest for Japan's started, and I wouldn't be where I am here today if I didn't experience what I did.

  • I grew up in New Zealand and came to Japan for the first time when I was 17 to do an exchange in the Japanese countryside.

  • I actually couldn't speak a word of Japanese at that time.

  • However, being the countryside really allowed me to buy Japanese Day today with directions, I had the locals in the community, even though the language side of very important when you learned Japanese.

  • You can never fully grasp it if you don't understand and immerse yourself in the culture and learn how to use it in real life situations.

  • Which is why we have designed this course to be as practical as possible, learning the fundamentals in class and then practicing after class, so interacting with the locals and through daily life.

  • A typical day would be classes from nine until midday and then after classes.

  • We have set up different activities and events where you can learn more about the culture, lifestyle and the local area.

  • You can join in on helping with the local festivals and getting to know the locals way have even talked to the local town and they as super excited to welcome you guys and for you to know Onley study here but to be part of the community.

  • If you have watched my active videos, you will also know there are plenty of hidden gems and this area which you will be able to do as well.

  • So now I can officially say the applications for the first course on now open.

  • No way.

  • So I just finished editing the video and I'm so excited I could finally tell you guys about this project that I'm working on.

  • This course is something I wish I had when I was doing Japanese.

  • So I'm so glad that I could turn this vision and make it come to life.

  • But for the first course in August, I will also be there.
