  • special guest here today.

  • It is Mr Dave to d himself, also known as the laptop guy of the Internet.

  • I don't say that.

  • A k a laptop expert.

  • Listen, I'm here today to tell you some gaming laptop stuff.

  • Oh, boy.

  • Inoculated.

  • You're the perfect guy to have you to tell us.

  • What do we need to know?

  • OK, about Artie X.

  • What should we look out for in gaming Laptop?

  • What should we avoid?

  • Thio.

  • Sorry.

  • Interrupt.

  • This actually feels like I'm on a talk show like Is that is that weird?

  • Not that I've been under its Children.

  • We're talking are chicks.

  • Laptops are t X laptops.

  • Let's hear it.

  • The good they are powerful as heck.

  • You have a nice looking one here, by the way.

  • Sure, it's ah, a cease his efforts.

  • If I'm not mistaken, that could be the thinnest 17 ish gaming laptop.

  • So the good is that it's, you know, you're packing a lot of power in this thing, right?

  • Just great.

  • The bad.

  • I want to like 50% more expensive than I think they should be.

  • So last year's devices 2018 devices were so good.

  • Like the 10 Siri's like 10 60 10 17 88 with like fast greens 144 hertz.

  • Six Core CPI use This is like basically everything that anyone has ever wanted in a gaming laptop.

  • They had him last year.

  • They were reasonably well priced and they were good.

  • And now they're selling these.

  • They're more powerful, but they're just so expensive.

  • This is the big issue.

  • Gaming laptop screens are almost all tiny piece screens.

  • The promise of these artifacts chips are geared to higher resolution stuff.

  • And you can't even see that, I think, in videos trying to push this whole technology of ray tracing like ray trays.

  • Graphics look really good and you can do with these cards you can do with these new laptop, but they're just so few games that can support it, right?

  • Is this the case, though, where the hardware has to get out there first, and then the software might, you know, a little bit of both, But I think the bigger issue is that it's difficult to recommend this product consumers.

  • There's no real reason to buy it right now, even though there's a lot of hype Yeah, around our t X t X right now.

  • Yeah.

  • You really think that people should just be looking at older?

  • Still, absolutely.

  • His generation.

  • Not just that.

  • I feel like they should look at older.

  • So if you're buying a gaming laptop right now in 2019 you should probably look at hold their stuff.

  • And even if you really want an Arctic device, I'd wait the year out, wait for, like, the next generation of our checks to come up because then you'll know are are their games out there that are gonna be supporting Ray traced graphics?

  • Is this really going to be a thing?

  • If you're buying our techs Harbor right now, you're You're betting that the technology is going to immerse.

  • I think it will, but it's gonna be like five years before we see a year's gonna be a long time.

  • Like if you're running of Ray traced graphics on this machine, you're only getting like 60 French for a second.

  • It's decent.

  • Anything less than that.

  • You're not even getting 60 francs per second for Ray traced graphics.

  • So how much is the person spending, then?

  • Three grand, three grand.

  • That's where they got to go.

  • If they want Ray tracing these things need to come down in price.

  • Not there.

  • Yet.

  • Manufacturers are smart.

  • They know that they priced their stuff in a particular way so that you never feel like you're overspending because they're they're putting that extra money that you spent on that product on things that the cheaper companies can't do what you're spending on.

  • Gaming Laptop Thank you.

  • Start losing value after 1600.

  • Once you spend like 16 1700 bucks, you're like That's the best bang for your buck.

  • Like, uh, M aside, just 6500 bucks.

  • That's it.

  • I'm not saying that's the one.

  • That's the day I'm saying that you picked out a one if I had to choose if you can afford it.

  • The M aside, yes, 65 right now is some serious value because they know who has access to a guy like you.

  • T to d.

  • I mean, they can watch you on YouTube.

  • Everyone's all hyped up about Artie X stuff, and you're saying, Forget about it For now.

  • If money matters to you, you have a giant budget, and you just want the best of the best.

  • Sure are ticks Laptop for days But if you if you care about your money and where you're spending it, Wow, it's a better option to go with last year's stuff.

  • So it's really it's on the software developers now, and they gotta make screens that are higher resolution.

  • If I mean, if they want to take it, Are there any games on the horizon that are we?

  • Name any names that air.

  • There's a couple.

  • Anthem is coming out soon.

  • Battlefield supports that already are t X Ray traced.

  • That's one game, all right.

  • You want to buy a $3000 laptop for one game?

  • There are a bunch of Artie ex titles that are coming out.

  • Yeah, some of them are pretty big.

  • Some of them looked good, but it's like I'd say, Wait, wait for the developers to get on board with this ray trade stuff before you commit $3000.

  • A lot of money with the keyboard being placed below.

  • Yeah, where it would normally be.

  • They do it for thermals.

  • Yeah, shifted down.

  • And then now all the hot stuff Convent out a lot easier.

  • How's the sound on it?

  • Dese.

  • A lot of gaming.

  • Laptops of trash speakers though.

  • It's weird.

  • Yeah.

  • How much gaming are you actually doing?

  • A lot.

  • I play a lot of games in Overwatch.

  • S R.

  • I was I was Master's grand masters.

  • Did you come on here just to say that?

  • That's all I want to see.

  • I'm done.

  • I played it a lot.
