  • What's up, guys?

  • Just two cents here.

  • And I'm gonna bring you a part of you that I'm a little late to the party on.

  • But that's okay.

  • Better late than never.

  • We're talking about brand new a Iose from fractal design.

  • Now, normally, I would just be like, You know what?

  • We don't review a iose anymore.

  • There's just not enough different anymore between them.

  • They're all almost all of them are a Sitek Re brands.

  • There's just nothing super exciting to talk about, but fractal and their Celsius.

  • Siri's has always been my favorite.

  • A iose of all of the bunch.

  • And no, I wasn't paid to say that.

  • The fractal.

  • If you feel like sending me a check, by all means, you have my address.

  • But they're my favorite Iose for several reasons.

  • And now that we have a refresh here, we'll talk about the necessity for a refresh.

  • I'm gonna show you why it continues to still be my favorite.

  • A Iot of all time.

  • Wow, that sounds super silly, but I mean it.

  • Thea Lee ex G 270 Q G from Viewsonic breaks the traditional ugly appearance of gaming monitors by providing an ultra clean design while still delivering gamers the features that they want most features like a one millisecond response time i PS 165 Hertz over clock display black brushed aluminum stand with tilt and swivel mouse and keyboard, cable anchors and customizable subtle lighting.

  • To learn more about the Ex G 270 g from Viewsonic and to see current pricing, click the link in the description below.

  • So before we busted out of the box and kind of take a look at it, we won't I won't be doing any direct performance testing of this today.

  • This is more of an unboxing in an overview and kind of showing you what's different and still why.

  • It's my favorite.

  • I have a test bench.

  • I do not have a working test bench here at the house and, like you can obviously tell we have not been back to the studio now in three weeks.

  • Uh, it's probably so dusty and dirty, like it wasn't dusty and dirty before.

  • But whatever the reason why you're seeing these new a Iot is launch from all these companies is necessity.

  • Is the mother of all invention right?

  • At least that's what they say.

  • I think laziness is the motive of necessity for invention.

  • But whatever that's beside the point ace a tech is the company that pretty much all of the brands have to operate under a licensing agreement.

  • Because a Sitek owns the patents to the cooling plate, that being the copper base and all that sort of stuff fun fact, anything on top of that is up to the manufacturer to come up with.

  • That's why you see differences between, like, LCD screens on like the NZX T cooler, and then you'll see like the the older or the other.

  • End 60 Cooler has, like the infinity mirror you've got, like the rage in region, not region tech.

  • The whatever ace Deuce is calling there is it was a really stupid name.

  • I came in what it was, but they've got, like, the old led screen on there that can you can cycle through and play gifts and stuff like that.

  • All the stuff on top of the pump or on top of the cooling plate is actually up to the manufacturer, so that's why you see a lot of different variants there.

  • But then people will always be like, Well, if they're all ace attack, why they look different and they're not all ace attacked.

  • By the way.

  • Um, in fact, I don't I'm not sure that a cease one actually is, but I digress.

  • If it's round, it's more than likely gonna be a Sitek.

  • So let's go and crack this guy out of the box.

  • Let's take a look at what's inside and then, um well, actually, fire it up.

  • We're not gonna be hooking up to a C P.

  • But I do have power supply here.

  • I could turn it on so you could see what some of the differences work.

  • Now it's kind of obvious why they call it the Celsius plus 24 Prisma.

  • So to understand the naming convention, obviously it's the Celsius, which is the product line?

  • The plus because of the larger size of the pump base, the S 24 because it's the 240 millimeter radiator and Prisma, because this particular edition comes with the RGB Prisma fans.

  • That fractal design does also sell on the side.

  • Now I believe they do have a version as well.

  • That has the standard black and white fans but doesn't have the TV on there.

  • But I do believe it still has the RGB ring on the pump.

  • It's obvious to that by looking at the box, it does have an RGB ring on the pump, which is new for them because they've always been super simple.

  • One of the reasons why I say that this is my favorite a Iot of all time, and they do come in different sizes now.

  • Three different sizes.

  • The 2 40 the 360 and a 2 80 now, which is to 140 millimeters before, they only had the 360 and the 2 40 but they've obviously expanded that a little bit.

  • But one of the things I've always loved about fractal is it super simplistic design in terms of the wiring, the wiring specifically, and we'll get to that.

  • As you can see, you've got a user guide here, which shows you installation.

  • You've got your two prisoner fans, which do not come.

  • Pre connected we've got are mounting plates, which are obviously going to support all of your popular brands a MD and Intel.

  • All the different sockets sizes basically from LG A 775 and up for Intel, including extreme Siri's.

  • And then you also we're gonna have your A m d am socket.

  • I do not know if this one supports TR four, so let's see if it does so according to the box right here basically supports Intel 11 50 up, which will still work with 775 I believe.

  • But if you're probably shopping a 775 cooler, I would hope you would have newer stuff to put something like this on but anyway, and all your empty sockets am too up, including FM socket as well as TR for via included bracket.

  • Inside, The threat of a box like I mentioned has a bracket that comes with Red River.

  • You would just put that on to this particular cooling plate.

  • All right, so here's the cooler right here.

  • Um, it's kind of nice.

  • One of the things that's different about this is instead of being a bit of a polished soft plastic, it's like a rubberized rubberized texture now, so that's kind of neat.

  • You've got your pre applied thermal pace, so I'll be leaving the intel bracket on as well as this cover.

  • I wanna mess up thermal paste.

  • You can see that this will provide good coverage for FX.

  • Fxf use.

  • Yes, Intel mainstream si pues a good coverage or next to 99 in x 99.

  • Not the greatest coverage when it comes to thread Ripper, because threaded for a so big um, if you're using one of the super dense ones that like, let's say a 39 70 X, I don't feel this would be adequate, but it will be better than nothing.

  • And because whatever doesn't come with a cooler, you would.

  • If you already have one of these, I guess you could use it.

  • You would put on the bracket that comes with the CPU onto the base plate of this, and then you would, ah, at least have some sort of coverage there, and then it will cover, obviously residency views.

  • Just find something going.

  • Put this back on, but what you might be noticing right now.

  • And this is why I say over and over that this is my favorite cooler is in extreme lack of wiring.

  • All the other brands that have their coolers want to just loaded up with all of these stupid.

  • I got some lint in there.

  • No, I didn't get it.

  • Whatever it is America loaded up with all these stupid wiring, stupid wiring coming off everywhere.

  • You got a USB cable and you'll have Ah, fan cable's going to the fans and then you'll have one going to the CPU cooler than the CPU itself will have another cable going to something else.

  • And it's just all the stupid wiring everywhere.

  • This is a single power plug right here for the entire unit.

  • It is a PW empowered plug.

  • It will control the pump.

  • It will also send P W M A N Power to the fans, so it's extremely simple.

  • When it comes to the way that this works.

  • You have one cable to plug in.

  • But, Jay, those are RGB fans, right?

  • Like I mentioned earlier, it also has an RGB distribution plug right here it is a RGB.

  • So it's the three pin, which means that your fans once you attach them, you've got a pigtail here for the RGB to daisy chain and then you've got your power plug which plugs into the radiator right there they are rubberized.

  • So you have some rubber pads that air this one collected some lint, but some rubber pad there sitting on the fans as they're sitting on the radiator.

  • They're not gonna be causing vibration to transfer, so it's going to stay nice and quiet.

  • Now, this one s 36.

  • You would have three fans, Obviously something else if they include Is this little sticky kind of a cable channel right there that you can use for some wire management would've been nice.

  • Maybe if they included some extra ones.

  • Oh, there's two.

  • There's another one right there.

  • So we've got two of those which make it so you can have some nice clean cable management.

  • And you could actually stick those to the side of the radiator, which would allow you to tuck your wires behind the back side where you can't see it.

  • And then you've got your, uh, am plus bracket right here.

  • So am +23 and four.

  • There you go.

  • You're mounting screws and washers for the fans and the radiator.

  • Get your A M d.

  • Hold down pin right there.

  • And then this is the intel back plate for the backside of the motherboard for your intel's your intel's.

  • So let's go ahead and mount this up, I'll shave It all looks like put together the way I did the cable management and such.

  • And so you can get a good idea of why this is such a clean, simplistic style.

  • But now, with obviously the inclusion of RGB and the prison fans, what they standard standard argue B a r G B header with the three pins and not the stupid proprietary plug, making it even easier to get this incorporated in your systems.

  • So let's show you guys what that looks like.

  • One other plug to assemble.

  • This I am gonna be using.

  • My art drifter thing is my I fix it.

  • Protect Kit.

  • We are a huge fan of I fix it around here because of their right to repair movements.

  • Do me a favor, head to the description of this video and click the length that goes to the I fix that website.

  • Yes, it is an affiliate link, but it's not about sales.

  • One thing A lot of people may not realize it, but I fix it is they are the number one online source for tear down guide.

  • So if you want to work on popular laptops or phones or whatever I fix.

  • It takes these products.

  • They do complete tear down guides to show you where all the screws are, which bits to use and everything in that is free.

  • So head on over there.

  • If you want to get a kit because they're your freaking badass, then by all means do that.

  • I also have an affiliate link for Amazon and description below that you guys can see how much these kids costs.

  • I think you'd be surprised how expensive they are and why you're sitting at home with nothing to do.

  • Don't you tear something apart just for the heck of it.

  • Just make sure you put it back together again.

  • And if you can't, they've got assembly guides.

  • All right, so here's what it looks like with everything connected.

  • It's not nearly as neat as it used to be.

  • The previous version of these Celsius, and probably the one that also doesn't use the Prisma fans had cable links that were specific to the link they would need to be to get over here to the hub.

  • But the hub also contains the RGB for the fans, so you have to use the daisy chain RGB built into the fan wires.

  • And if you had 1/3 fan here, there would be that much more wiring.

  • Which makes it not quite as neat and tidy as it used to be, however, because I have it all tied down here on the sides, I didn't even use the little cable management things that come with it when you rotate it the way that it would be in the case and the way that I wired it.

  • For As you can see, you wouldn't even see those cables at all.

  • This is wired for push.

  • It would take fresh air and push it through the radiator and exhausted out the top.

  • If we take a look at the pump, there's one extra wire here.

  • So the pump also needs a way to get the RGB signal to the fans.

  • And that's through this cable that comes right here, which is just a RGB cable.

  • It's got a proprietary plug that plugs into the side of the pump right here and the control wire that not only powers the fans and sends a P W M signal and the power to the fans.

  • The RGB cable also runs underneath the sleeve ing.

  • You can actually feel it under there to keep it nice and tidy.

  • What I would have liked to have seen, quite honestly is if fractal had a way to make the RGB fan in the power plug come out the same spot because now they're kind of taking one step closer towards the companies that I just said.

  • Do the stupid thing with wires coming out everywhere because they chose to have it come out a completely different location rather than trying to have it come out near the power wire.

  • You're gonna have wires going like this coming off here.

  • CPU socket.

  • And that looks terrible When it comes to controlling the fan, though, are the fans on the radiator?

  • You have two options.

  • One fractal has its own logic built in that uses coolant temperature to speed up and slow down the fans.

  • Or you can use P.

  • W M so that it's controlled off of the paedo BM.

  • Signal coming from your CPU and or a Iot pump header on your motherboard, depending what you have this plugged into and the way you control that is just like the old one.

  • You simply rotate this knob and then there is a somewhere on.

  • There is little indicator that will show you if you're in P W.

  • M or you're in controlled mode, where fractals on logic controls it.

  • Something I would have liked to have seen, though, is this cable to be about twice as long?

  • The reason being is this would not easily reach a bottom header on a motherboard.

  • And a lot of Mother board manufacturers have started putting the RGB headers all along the bottom, not necessarily on the top.

  • I don't know why Mother board manufacturers have started doing that.

  • I think they're trying to just have a centralized location for everything rather than having to have someone to hear and some run to here.

  • But I found that for some reason, the RGB headers are starting to find themselves Maur along the bottom of a motherboard than the top.

  • And this won't be long enough because if you wanted to be up, up, you can't see it.

  • It's not turned on, but the fractal logo's right there, so that would be up.

  • This would not make it up around the back and down the motherboard back trade or the motherboard tray on the backside is you could see it wouldn't be long enough.

  • So this should have been twice as long to guarantee that it would reach wherever you needed to.

  • The other thing that kind of stinks too.

  • Is that means that they Because they have the RGB header coming off the bottom, the power plug is coming off the side.

  • I think it would've made more sense to have the RGB header come off the top even if the header was on the top.

  • And, you know, having to make this kind of a crazy loop around and then have the power come off the bottom because a lot of times you do have some CPU power on the bottom or on the side of the socket.

  • So manufacturers have started putting it there.

  • Or if you take my first method of my first suggestion of having them both come off the top, they would just run in parallel next to each other and look way more clean, so kind of a case in point.

  • Here it is plugged into the air to be header on nebula, which is tthe e a Seuss X 2 99 Rampage Omega.

  • It's like their highest motherboard that they make when it comes to the extreme platform.

  • It has one air G B header and it's on the bottom.

  • So this would have never reached.

  • I would have had to have made extension cable and or bought an extension cable.

  • And you can easily make one by just getting a standard for Penn Extension cable.

  • Cutting off the second pin, the one that's next to the five bolt, and then that way you know you can actually plug it in.

  • So you have the to the space and the one pin, and then you can plug it in wherever you want.

  • But I want to see right now is how well the colors matched.

  • What?

  • I had a nebula, and they're kind of set to like a t lea kind of a blue, and it matches pretty good.

  • The infinity ring.

  • As you can see, lights up, it looks really, really good.

  • I thought the fractal logo lit up, but for some reason on this one, it's not.

  • I thought the picture show that it lit up, but we do have a bit of ah just kind of rgb ring going around the side.

  • Now let me go ahead and set it to kind of, ah, a disco mode just so we could see what it looks like.

  • There it is all rainbow moting.

  • And then, obviously, if the fans were turning, don't worry about me freak.

  • Don't forget me turning the fans not plugged into any PBM head or anything.

  • So there's an idea of what it will look like.

  • So it's getting you the fractal design simplicity, but with adding the flare.

  • You know, the whole 30 pieces of flair inside, but there d be.

  • Let's go and get that back.

  • Get it back.

  • There we go.

  • That's better.

  • All right, so there you have it.

  • My first look and opinion about thesent c'est plus lineup of a iose from fractal design.

  • I think that, um there is a step in the right direction.

  • The reason why the cables on the back looks so ugly compared to a weighted it before, Like I said, with the prison.

  • In addition, they just grabbed Prisma fans off the shelf and basically stick him in the box so they don't have the custom cable links like the fans that come specifically, but the non Prisma coolers do.

  • I'm disappointed by their layout regarding the cables coming out of the pump.

  • I feel like I already explained, but I feel like this is, um, starting look too much like some of the other brands out there that just don't care about the cable mess.

  • And I hate to see Frank to go that way, because that's one of the things that has always always always driven me to recommend this particular cooler, especially the older version two builders that want a clean aesthetic.

  • But if you take the time and when I cable manage this, I used nothing but what came in the box, including the twist ties that originally held the cables together.

  • And from the angle it up with sitting in your computer to look like this, you'll never see those cables.

  • And you know, it's one of those things where if you take your time and manage the wires coming out of the pump properly and run them along other things that share a parallel direction, like running it flat along like the dim channel or something like that.

  • Some of the ways that cable management.

  • You probably won't see it, although this one being braided are sleeved and then being a quick but quite a thicker.

  • Because there's four cables in here are four wires.

  • This one's a little bit more difficult.

  • The major flaw, though, in my opinion, I think, is the length of the RGB cable for the pump already explained.

  • Why now, you?

  • I did mention you can make extensions for this.

  • I had to for Nebula, every single Air G B fan that is inside Nebula.

  • And there's what 12 of them was the 369 Yeah, there's 12 RGB fans inside of Nebula.

  • They're all running off one header.

  • And to be fair, I think I have one fan too many because the very top fan in the front will start to flicker different colors every now and then.

  • Which means that the signals starting to degrade by the time it gets to that particular fan.

  • But I had to make extension cables as well, but that's not something I think someone should have to do.

  • I don't think you should have to run out and source another cable and then modify it to be able to plug this in because, as I showed had I've been using this motherboard with this cooler, this plug would not have gotten the job done because I have three No.

  • Two standard 12 RGB headers, which are not addressable one of the top or the side of this case or this motherboard and one of the bottom right next to the RGB header, which already said this wouldn't have reached.

  • It's minor, but enough to mention because you're gonna go to hook this up and you're like, Wait a minute, it doesn't reach.

  • So that's a that's a disappointment there.

  • I'd like to see a revision in the future where practical includes a longer cable because because it is removable, it means they could also source longer cables and then show some good faith by retroactively providing them to people who have the cooler already.

  • That way, they don't have to worry about doing that themselves and potentially ruining the RGB, because if you get the pens wrong and you and you cut the wrong pin where you plug it into the wrong header on your motherboard, that's when the reasons why there's a block off pin here and you can't do that with an extension cable.

  • You can still plug it into a 12 volt RGB and not a fight, but are to be on accident and blow up the RGB in here.

  • Ask me how I know I've done it more than once because it's easy to not pay attention to what you're doing.

  • So that has been my first look at the Celsius Plus s 24 Prisma edition.

  • Tell me what you guys think of the comments below.

  • It's still one of my favorite coolers, and a Iot is because of the simplicity and the easy insult of it.

  • And I don't think that you can ask for more now that you've got some extra flair.

  • You've got the amazing 240 millimeter radiator size to cool pretty much any CPU out there and still provide a decent over clock.

  • And with the new rubberized texture on the pump, the braided cables and then the hidden cables inside the braid make it one of the cleanest air hose that you can buy.

  • So sound off in the comments below with a Iot you're using and what's your favorite one is and why.

  • Thanks for watching guys and as I always say at the end of every video right now, hope you guys are staying safe and hope you're feeling well and as always, I'll see you on the next one.

What's up, guys?
