  • Hi.

  • Welcome to show me the curried duck home.

  • I'm hip, I'm a neutral and today we're gonna show you how to make Sheila.

  • Now she I know a lot of people think it's hell over, but this is what my mother and my grandmother call it, so I'm just gonna call it that.

  • But it is basically it's ah, home remedy to kind of avoid colds and coughs And, you know, especially given to kids and adults over the winter season so that, you know, you don't get sick easily and just to build up your immunity.

  • So it's a really quick and easy drink, which is very healthy for you.

  • So what we've done is we've taken 1/4 cup of whole almonds like this, and we put it in a microwave safe, full with a little bit of water in it and then microwaved it for about two minutes, depending on the power of your microwave.

  • Could be a little bit less for a little bit more.

  • But basically what we want to do is just kind of get it to a point where the water is boiling and we got it out and it's been sitting here for a while, so now we can touch it.

  • They're still warm, but it's been soaking here for a little bit and were able to touch the almonds so you can also soak the almonds overnight, get to the same point.

  • So this method, what it allows us to do, is we can take an omen and just squeeze it out.

  • And it's a really easy way to peel almonds.

  • So we're going to peel all of these omens and, um, we'll be back.

  • So we got all our almonds peeled, so I'm just gonna roughly crush them.

  • So use the mortar pestle, and I've just roughly crushed the almonds.

  • And you know, the texture are the size, but you want to keep you.

  • It's totally entirely up to you.

  • So I'm gonna keep this aside and go on to the stove, and you can also use a grinder just as a side.

  • If you have a little spice grinder, you can even use that if you don't like too much texture.

  • So in a heavy bottom skillets on medium heat, I'm gonna put in Hoppity spun off key 1/8 teaspoon off Holly Holly is very good for you, right, So everybody knows that makes it into the key.

  • Now, this is just for one serving, and I want to add one tablespoon off basin or chickpea flour, and I want to roast it now similar to what we do when we may.

  • Culver, you know you're gonna roast the basin so that, you know, you releases this fantastic aroma and, uh, you will be able to tell that it's roasted.

  • I'm just now getting it's amazing roasted aroma of the basin so we can go ahead and add in one cup of milk.

  • We're also gonna add in the crush.

  • Chalmers and I was just going to allow it to come to a boil.

  • So for the roasting process, I'd actually reduced the flame a little bit.

  • So just so I have more control over it and added the Milton, I've increased the plane just a little bit more allowed to come to a boil.

  • So it's come to a boil and will reduce the flame and just allow it to seem off about 5 to 7 minutes and keep stirring it in between.

  • So it's been about five minutes, and it's thickened up quite a bit.

  • on reduced.

  • So you're gonna add in sugar to your taste.

  • Just mix it in and turn off the stove and it's ready to serve.

  • So Sheila is ready.

  • And as you can see, it's got a lot of, like heartiness to it.

  • And it's perfect.

  • Like I can just imagine on on a cold night or something, having something like this nice and warm to drink, holding onto it like yes, begun it actually, my mother tells us, you know, that my grandmother used to make it for all her siblings and her, and they would all sit around and, you know, everybody would have it in the mornings and the evenings and just hold onto it.

  • You know, Long cups, just warmth and goodness going, you know, really clingy with stomach.

  • Yes, absolutely.

  • And hold the term work.

  • Of course, everybody knows it's like a really, really good remedy home remedy for coughs anyway.

  • And, uh, it's a little hard to take just by itself, but mixed into something like this.

  • It goes down smooth, and he'd been like Children will enjoy it.

  • So try it.

  • Yeah, let's do that.

  • And this has just got to be hot hot look at the texture.

  • It's delicious.

  • Mmm.

  • So warm and nice on the almonds, with the texture in there.

  • Perfect.

  • Like it's not just, like guzzle it down.

  • You know it gives you some time alone.

  • India, though almonds definitely soften up with all that cooking, so it's a nice so by Tina and, of course, the sugar.
