  • This is the lock picking lawyer, and what I have for you today is an anchor loss model.

  • 8 33-3 padlock.

  • This Swedish lock was sent to me by Hans Christian in Germany, and I was certainly pleased to receive it because not too many of these make their way to my side of the Atlantic.

  • It's a very well made lock with a 60 millimeter wide hardened steel lock body, and that, of course, is also chrome plated.

  • Then we have a high shackle guard protecting an 11 millimeter hardened steel shackle.

  • The court is a disc detainer designed with, I believe, 10 discs, which is far above average, and all of those disks have false skates.

  • So let's see what it takes to pick it open.

  • I'm anticipating a bit of a challenge, and then, of course, I will take it apart to show you what's inside.

  • The first thing we're going to do is rotate all of those disks as far clockwise as they will go that I'm going to get the pick that Bosnian Bill and I made and try to pick up disc number one.

  • Okay, I think I have disc one Let's find disc number two and get to picking.

  • Now, the first thing I'm going to do is try to get everything into a gate.

  • Not necessarily the true gate.

  • Okay.

  • Number two is in a gate.

  • Think three's in a gate.

  • I can't be sure.

  • It's not binding very tightly.

  • Quick out of four.

  • Quick out of five, six, seven, eight, nine.

  • I just got a fair bit of movement on the core.

  • That probably means everything is in a cage.

  • Okay, 10 is binding.

  • There we go.

  • That's in a true gate.

  • Now let's go back to the beginning.

  • Okay?

  • Two feels like it's binding in that gate.

  • Here we go.

  • Much looser.

  • Three feels loose.

  • Four feels loose.

  • Okay.

  • Five.

  • Okay.

  • That's definitely in the correct position now.

  • Six.

  • I should have left him where he was.

  • He is binding in that new gate.

  • Let's take him back.

  • There we go.

  • Six is where it belongs.

  • I think seven and we got this open.

  • Okay, Let's take it apart and see what's inside.

  • Now to take it apart, we need to remove an Allen screw.

  • That's right down this hole.

  • Normally, that hole is blocked by the shackle.

  • But now that we have it open, we can access it and remove the core retainer.

  • Now we have a nice thick plate guarding the core and below that is a thick spinner.

  • And under that is the core.

  • So let's take out the first disc and then I should be able to remove the rest of the corps.

  • Okay, let's get that sidebar and drop it into this channel.

  • And I also dropped a spacer.

  • Let's put that up here.

  • Okay, let's start dropping these disks out.

  • That's number one here's to, and a spacer three spacer for noticing this half moon shape.

  • I'm assuming that some sort of anti pick design, but frankly, it didn't seem to affect me very much.

  • I'm not entirely sure why they do that.

  • This is number six seven.

  • Here's eight nine 10.

  • Looks like I was wrong.

  • Looks like there are 11 disks, but I miscounted.

  • No, that's 11.

  • Okay, let's take a look at one of the's disks.

  • We should be able to see a false gate, and at least I'm sorry.

  • A true gate and at least one false Kate.

  • And that's what we have here.

  • This is the true gate that is a false gate.

  • And as you saw, it certainly makes picking a little bit more tricky.

  • All in all, not a bad lock, a tricky pick and probably a lot that I would consider using.

  • In any case, that's all I have for you today on this anchor loss model 8 33-3 padlock.
