  • This is the lock picking lawyer, and what I have for you today is the out or locks model 5 60 g titanium bike lock.

  • I only recently picked this up on eBay, but the lock was the result of a Kickstarter campaign.

  • Roughly four years ago.

  • It promised a small, lightweight bike lock, and there's little doubt this is both.

  • However, those attributes come with compromises.

  • The first is price this listed for 100 and $80.

  • The second is resistance to brute force attacks.

  • According to the manufacturer, These rods are made of Grade five titanium.

  • I've tested that material in the past and have not been terribly impressed with its resistance to cutting or Salling attacks, at least when compared to the modern steals found in other high end bike locks.

  • But today is not about brute force testing.

  • We may do that in the future, but right now we're going to see what it takes to pick into this disc detainer core.

  • The first thing we're going to do is rotate all of those disks as far clockwise as they will go.

  • Then I'm going to get the pick that Bosnian Bill and I made pick up disc number one.

  • So we contention from there.

  • Okay, I think I have disc one.

  • Now it's fine.

  • Disc number two and get to picking.

  • Okay.

  • To feels loose.

  • So does three for his binding.

  • Nice click there.

  • Five is binding.

  • There we go.

  • Click out of five.

  • Six is loose and so is seven.

  • Back to the beginning.

  • Two is loose.

  • So it was three for five six.

  • Okay, I think everything is set.

  • Let's try tensioning off of one of the zero cut discs going to use number seven and counter rotate Disc number one.

  • And that's what was holding us out.

  • Okay, as you saw, this is not a terribly tricky lock.

  • To pick.

  • Someone who's experience with disc container locks is not going to be slowed down for very long.

  • However, the number of people who are experienced with these cores is relatively low, so until that changes, it's probably enough pick resistance for the streets.

  • In any case, that's all I have for you today.

  • If you do have any questions or comments about this, please put them below.
