This is the lock picking lawyer, and what I have for you today is a club personal vault.

The club is a company that first made its name in the 19 eighties and nineties with its steering wheel locks, but it's less well known that they still make security devices to this day.

The personal vault is one of those items, and I just picked this up on Amazon.

It's marketed as secure storage for everything from guns toe wallets, and it consists of three main parts.

First, we have a metal drawer that fits into a metal sleeve, and holding them together is a plug.

One has a steel cable attached for securing to an anchor point.

Once the plug is locked into position using this cam lock, the drawer can no longer be opened.

Now it's that cam lock that is clearly the weak link in this package.

It's a wafer lock that could be raked open in just a few moments using a relatively unskilled attack.

We're going to try that right now, using a thin wiper insert for attention and one of my wave rakes.

Just that quickly, we got this open folks.

I think it is grossly inadequate to use a cheap way for lock on a product that is explicitly marketed to secure both dangerous and valuable items.

And it's for that reason that I see this as a lockbox to avoid.
