  • This is the lock picking lawyer, and what I have for you today is a V a veil.

  • Oh, bicycle, you lock.

  • I actually received quite a few e mails and comments asking me to review this recently, probably because it's on Amazon right now, together with this four foot cable for about $27 which is definitely on the low end of the spectrum.

  • So let's take a closer look at what we get for the money.

  • The Amazon listing says this has a 15 millimetre thick shackle, which is only true if you count Lee rubber coating on the outside, which most companies do not.

  • If you don't measure the plastic, we have about 12.8 millimeters of metal or just a shade over half an inch.

  • That's on the low end of what I'd consider using in a low security environment.

  • Looking to the lost body down the shackle hole, we can see the steel pipe.

  • It looks like it's right about 2.5 millimetres, maybe 1/10 of an inch thick, which is definitely a little on the thin side, and we can also see that the locking mechanism is supported by black plastic, and I never like to see plastic on the inside of a lock.

  • As for the core itself, it appears to be the normal slider sidebar design that we see in many Chinese made by clocks.

  • It has eight sliders divided into two banks of four, each bank controlling a separate sidebar.

  • So let's see what it takes to pick this open.

  • Okay.

  • Going to use this nice, thick tension wrench and to move the sliders.

  • What I'm going to do is use this standard hook in 18 thousands inserted sideways and twist toe lift, each of the sliders starting on the left bank.

  • Nothing on one.

  • Too little click out of three.

  • Click out of four.

  • We just got a fair bit of movement on that core.

  • We may have just set the left side going to the right side.

  • Nothing on one two is binding.

  • Got a nice fat click out of him.

  • Nothing on three four is binding very tightly.

  • Gotta click there, and we just open this up, okay?

  • I generally don't think these locks are very hard to pick, but they usually take a little bit longer than this one.

  • Did.

  • I guess this one is on the bottom end of the bell curve.

  • In any case, that's all I have for you today.

  • If you do have any questions or comments about this, please put them below.

  • If you like this video and would like to see more like it, please subscribe.

  • And, as always, have a nice day.

  • Thank you.
