  • Scotland is a land steeped in kilted history filled with countless welcoming pubs.

  • I came here for the Scotch, but I'm staying for the Holy Grail.

  • Or it was the other way around.

  • At the end of the Crusades, a holy order of warriors known as the Knights Templar smuggled the Holy Grail out of Jerusalem and into Scotland, where they hid.

  • It is anybody's guess, but recently I came across this.

  • For centuries, archaeologists have been unable to discern the origins of the intricate, hand carved tunnels known as Gil Martin Cove.

  • Local laws along link the cabin to the Templar knights.

  • Strange symbols Vin have done little to dissuade those beliefs.

  • Now university scientists have determined these underground passageways, maybe at least twice the size previously believed.

  • So this newly discovered tunnel system lead to a secret vault containing the Grail.

  • I'm gonna global investigate the heck out of this.

  • But before checking out my new lead, I'm headed to kill winning Abby to meet with Tony McMahon, who knows a lot about the Knights Templar history and how they ended up in Scott.

  • Not only is Tony a historian and an author, he also runs a blogger called Templar Knights, and so do I.

  • Only mine is Maur erotic Fiction.

  • My Name's Tenement Bond.

  • If Rob Riggle is on a quest to find the Holy Grail than he better start looking in Scotland because it's believed the Templars who were keeping the Grail came here after they fled France for their lives.

  • So, Tony, hopefully you can help me.

  • I'm trying to understand the origins of the Knights Templar and maybe a little more about the story of the Holy Grail.

  • Well, Rob, I'm gonna take you back to the year 10 99.

  • The Knights Templar were in order of knights who were the kind of poster boys for the crusade They originally got together to protect pilgrims who were coming into Jerusalem, who are being attacked by bandits on the roads.

  • But right away, right from the start, they insisted on being based in the Temple of Solomon.

  • Once they were in there, they started to dig underneath.

  • What are they looking for?

  • People think what the Templars were really all about is looking for the Holy Grail and other holy artifacts.

  • So it's believed that they found the Holy Grail in Jerusalem, and they brought it to the Paris Temple in France.

  • Tell me, how did the Knights Templar get to Scotland?

  • Well, I have an incredibly ancient maps here for you, Rock.

  • So you gotta imagine.

  • First of all, the Knights Templar evolved from a military order on they became bankers.

  • They got accessories all over Europe, France, England, Italy, Croatia.

  • I mean, these guys were everywhere.

  • It was over 50 different temper sites on one of their strong holes.

  • Right here in Scotland.

  • They've become way too powerful for the point of view.

  • The King of France, here in Paris, on the pope, who get together and decide they've got a crush.

  • The order.

  • So they issue arrest warrants against all the Templars throughout Europe on Friday, the 13th 39 7 templates somehow seem to get tipped off.

  • This is about to happen on they get all their loot in their treasure and take it in carts down to La Rochelle, a port here on the west coast of France where there's a Templar fleet.

  • It heads off up the English Channel up the coast till they get too near Edinburgh.

  • And then they come here to the Abbey hideaway to hide their treasure underground.

  • Listening to Tony and learning the history of the Templars made me sleeping.

  • But it also made me think that if the Templars took refuge here, it kill winning Abby.

  • And there's a chance that the Grail could still be here.

  • I could be standing right on top of this thing.

  • I'm starting to think that all that separates me from the most important relic in human history is a few inches of concrete.

  • So I know exactly what I, my trusty old friend Justice.

  • I say there are laws against, huh?

  • You really can't do that.

  • Why?

  • There are bylaws against that kind of thing, so don't do it.

  • I honestly recommend Don't do it.

  • Don't.

  • You're saying don't know, Sledgehammer, Not in this historic property.

  • Your mouth is saying don't.

  • But your eyes, they're saying, Do you know my eyes are definitely with my mouth dote.

  • I'm trying to attain immortality here, Tony.

  • No, but you'll attain a prison sentence.

  • Probably, but not immortality.

  • He robbed the Holy Grail.

  • I mean, if it ever was here, it's more than likely gone now.

  • Well, this Grail quest is off to a great start.

  • Thanks for nothing.

  • Tony.

  • Who is Tony McMahon, anyway?

  • Turns out he's a really nice guy with a lot of great information.

  • And I'm real sorry.

  • Someone smashed up his car.

  • Armed with temper knowledge that Tony gave me.

  • I'm ready to rock.

  • And by rock, I mean find better stuff to smash with my hammer, preferably the walls of a secret vault containing the Grail.

  • Where do you find one of those?

  • Well, how about the end of a newly discovered Templar tunnel system Just a few miles away at a place known as Gilbertson Code?

  • No one has been down these new tunnels.

  • I'm gonna be the first.

  • I'm meeting with Margaret and Dugan.

  • She's an expert on underground tunnels.

  • She's gonna help me investigate this new lead.

  • I'm Marco Antigen, and I run Gilbertson.

  • Cool.

  • Go with cold.

  • Is this strange labyrinth of underground chambers and passageways?

  • You understand?

  • You have some good information for me.

  • Lots of information for you.

  • Follow me.

  • Right, Rob?

  • Mind your step has become dying here.

  • This is awesome.

  • This is an amazing little place.

  • This is the word off the Knights Templar creating this whole underground area here, all hands carved from the sandstone bedroom we've got 50 foot long passageway on.

  • We know that these tunnels extend much further.

  • We don't know where they lead to, so it's potentially a much larger site.

  • This is unbelievable.

  • This must have taken for ever to carve this out.

  • Somebody was hiding something here, that's for sure.

  • Oh, boy, I may be claustrophobic.

  • I should have thought about this.

  • Let's go.

  • Caverns and tunnels.

  • Go on forever and ever.

  • It feels like this meeting place.

  • Maybe it looks like a booth.

  • Like a table.

  • Oh, Carvey's Hey, I discovered carvings.

  • All right, that says our our That's Rob Riggle.

  • Did they know I was coming?

  • You must have been here in the past life.

  • That's a Masonic symbol, right?

  • That is the Masonic symbol yet we've got the square and the compass.

  • The place is covered in Templar symbology.

  • We have free masons marks.

  • Here we have stonemasons marks here, which is Marx.

  • Everything.

  • It's all going on.

  • We think members off the free masons may have been meeting and secret here.

  • Some like to take the symbols back further on the link them in with the Knights Templar.

  • This Masonic symbol is a great find.

  • Many believe that when the Knights Templar went into hiding, they formed a new secret order which would later become known as free masons like the Templars.

  • Free Masons are experts, stone workers.

  • And to this day, their organization is shrouded in mystery.

  • They're notorious for secret handshakes, code words, private ceremonies, clothes from the public eye and not accepting my request for membership.

  • Where was I?

  • Oh, yeah.

  • Finding this marking in a secret cave that dates back to the temporal time period tells me there's something Maur to be discovered inside this tunnel system.

  • So far, we've got seven different chambers here.

  • You're still finding caves and tunnels and passageways to this day.

  • Is that correct?

  • That's cutting it, Jeff.

  • We've actually discovered to bingo across the road.

  • Have discovered another large chamber right outside the bingo hole of all places.

  • Bingo!

  • Bingo.

  • So there's no saying this site is twice the size.

  • We just don't know the actual extent off.

  • The original cove is roughly 1000 square feet.

  • Seven chambers are built around a main hallway that stretches for just over 40 feet.

  • Each room contains built in carved out furniture.

  • I sound like I'm describing a lovely four bedroom on house hunters underground, but I'm not, though.

  • That is a good idea.

  • I write that down.

  • Anyway.

  • This is serious stuff, guys.

  • Recently, a lost and still unexplored passage was discovered, and I believe the Holy Grail could be somewhere down this passage.

  • I got to see that tunnel and if possible, place in bigger cope.

  • Let's go.

Scotland is a land steeped in kilted history filled with countless welcoming pubs.
