  • Hello lovely people and welcome to my May...

  • favorites.

  • Is it May? Okay today is the actually the first of

  • June, but, we're running with the fact that it was May so, we're good.

  • These were my favorite things in May, that was a month that happened. Obviously the first and probably most

  • important thing that we're going to discuss today is the fact that I'm a gosh darn pink princess.

  • And I love this dress so much.

  • So favorite thing number one,

  • is this gorgeous Lillian dress from gigi clothing.

  • But this made me think of something rather interesting. Slowly, and you may have noticed this if you follow me on instagram,

  • and if you don't you should.

  • My wardrobe is kind of turning into a princess dress-up box.

  • I mean, it was a little bit before but it's really getting very pink and very fluffy at the moment

  • That just seems to be what's taking my fancy. The thing is even though I spent my entire life

  • Thinking that I was so incredibly hyper-feminine

  • that clearly I was very obviously gay because how could I be attracted to anything but femininity

  • I also then don't think of myself as girly or

  • In any way girly and I'm not, in the remotest sense, interested in

  • Girly stuff. I really don't care for any discussions of hair. I love my hair

  • I'm quite obsessed with my hair, with curling my hair, with making it look lovely. I like doing things to my hair

  • Do I ever want to discuss hair with anyone?

  • Really no. Clara and I are making a video about dyeing our hair and I'm only mildly, mildly interested

  • That is terrible to admit. Sorry.

  • I'm not interested in buying lots of fancy products for my hair

  • I don't spend a lot of time with hair masks on or leave-in conditioners

  • or even probably do the things that you're supposed to do to protect your hair

  • I'm just interested in my hair

  • I like nail varnish, I like putting it on. Do I ever want to discuss nail varnish with anyone ever?

  • No...

  • Generally when we go to dinner with a group of mixed people of ages and

  • genders you can generally find me with the middle aged or older men discussing the military tactics of the Plantagenets

  • Because that's my latest thing that I'm really really into - see the last month's favourites video

  • But I don't want to sit around and discuss the "girl stuff" that they think girls my age should be into

  • But equally I can't not look girly. If you've seen the star swap video

  • That I did with my beautiful wife, you'll know what I mean

  • I am intensely uncomfortable in anything except a skirt or a dress and

  • I really don't like wearing dark colors. I find that slightly upsetting too

  • I just always want to look like a frothy

  • Pink princess. I'm not in any way saying that there's anything wrong with being interested in girly topics at all

  • But my whole thesis is girly isn't a thing. I don't think that interests whether that be in

  • clothes or

  • films that you like

  • Books that you're interested in, activities that you like to do, your hobbies. I don't think that that has anything to do with

  • your gender and I really don't think it should so I really dislike when men or boys are called

  • "girly" because they like a particular set of interests because those interests aren't girly

  • they're not gendered themselves. There is no such thing as a gendered interest.

  • In conclusion, you just be interested in what you're interested in

  • Don't worry if it fits into a little box of what you're supposed to be. Just build who you are

  • You can be hyper feminine and still very very interested in the Fast and Furious series

  • I'm not remotely interested in using up your remaining spoons to fix your nail varnish. That has gone so wrong

  • favourite thing number two and this is completely non gendered

  • Well hey, if you remember last month, I had Fun Stix as one of my favourite things.

  • I got them from Malaysia. They were these really cool dehydrated vegetable crisps. They were so tasty

  • I really wanted someone to find them and you guys gave me amazing amazing suggestions

  • One of... one of the suggestions though,

  • I got excited by, it was dehydrated vegetable crisps and

  • I bought one of those mass packs that you can get from Amazon

  • We're supposed to go in shops with like 12 of them in. These they're tomato and cucumber vegetable crisps

  • And then I realized they're hideous. That wasn't even a suggestion from someone!

  • Why did I not go for the suggestions?

  • But then it was okay because I went back to the suggestions and I took an actually amazing suggestion

  • So thank you to everyone who suggested Eat Real to me

  • I went to dinner at my cousin's house on the way up to the Lake District and

  • she had

  • One of these packs of crisps. Oh someone suggested that in my last video. I shall try those. Tried them. My lord

  • They were amazing. So of course, I thought I must get all of the packets

  • I must get all of the flavours and then I really foolishly brought them out and we had a dinner party and said hey guys

  • Why don't you try them and let me know what you think you people who don't have to eat

  • Specialist crisps, so I got all my friends to eat them and give opinions and then all I was left with

  • was empty packets

  • So, you know these crisps are so tasty

  • My friends - I mean there were six of them - managed to eat

  • Seven packs of crisps and I only got to try one or two from each packet

  • But I'm still going to give you my opinion and use theirs because they're the ones who actually eat them

  • So crisps from eat real come in two main types-

  • I'm going to continue to call them crisps because I'm too British to say chips

  • That hurts my soul because chips are very large. They are mushy and you eat them with battered fish

  • Lentil crisps and hummus crisps. Now these are both the plain versions. They've just got sea salt on them and

  • from trying a few of them

  • Hummus crisps are a little bland without any other kind of flavouring

  • They were okay, and they do come in a great scoopy shape, so excellent for dips

  • So both of these are sea salt, but one of them is hummus and one is lentil

  • And I think I prefer the lentil ones- they taste a bit more like Papadums [Indian wafer dish]

  • Of course I should mention that they are all no added sugar

  • Gluten free and are suitable for vegans and as the packaging helpfully points out-

  • 48 percent less fat than regular potato chips and the lentil chips ones-

  • I really like! I thought they were really nice even plain. They have a really nice structure the less you dip and stuff

  • So I think that's the purpose of these ones.

  • Again,

  • there are great little scoop shapes so you can eat dips with them and before someone says

  • You're not supposed to eat lentils on the FODMAP diet-

  • I know, my stomach knows, it regrets things- but sometimes you let bad life choices...

  • We then move on to flavors tomato and basil some people liked it said it reminds them of pizza

  • Wow, that's really like tomato and basil.

  • It feels like I've just eaten a bowl of penne pasta.

  • Not sure how I feel about that-

  • But that's just cause I don't like pasta.

  • Creamy dill flavour, which I am all for

  • All for and I got a Swede to eat them- a full Swede- not me. I'm just a part Swede. These are my favourites.

  • And they're dill... and I'm Swedish, and Dill is a very lovely Swedish thing.

  • These were lovely.

  • They had a really really clean creamy flavor and texture. Then we have Hummus Chips, Chili and Lemon.

  • These were really nice. I really liked these. These are the ones I tried at my cousin's house.

  • They were a bit spicy, a bit lemony. We don't need a dip with them.

  • You could put a dip with them, but it would have to something quite plain.

  • Absolutely delicious; they're really good. (Jessica laughs)

  • Moving on to the lentil chips, the only other one of the lentil chips that I got was the chili and a lemon flavor

  • Which again is the same chili lemon?

  • Beautiful really delicious and the final version of the Eat Real crisps that I had to have as well-

  • I must have them all- are the veggie straws, which were probably the most similar to the Fun Stix that I really liked

  • They're so good!

  • So I like the flavour of these ones but the texture is a bit too light. So, uh, they kind of feel like eating air.

  • Oh my gosh they're very light in texture though. These didn't do so well with my friends

  • They left almost half a packet for me. Again, these crisps went down very well.

  • So I'd say if you're gonna eat these, go for the more flavoursome ones

  • And, they're...

  • If you like crisps, you'll like them.

  • And I like crisps, so I'm happy.

  • In conclusion,

  • the ones that I am going to buy again, so I can eat them, would be

  • the plain lentil chips

  • Lovely. I don't think those lentil chips need anything else, they're already lovely. The creamy dill hummus chips

  • Delightful.

  • And the Chili and Lemon flavour. And Veggie Straws!

  • Because you feel like you're eating flavoured air...

  • Favorite thing number three and back to our earlier discussion

  • about girliness.

  • Again, if you follow me on Instagram you may notice but I've been wearing different lipsticks recently

  • Normally, my favourite lipstick is the Maybelline Superstay 24-hour

  • in Cherry Pie. I...

  • always wear it. I really like the applicator of the lip gloss- I find it much easier.

  • I don't have the best

  • finger dexterity- or actually not having any feeling- in the tips of my fingers, which is very annoying when putting on makeup and I tend to just

  • poke myself in the face... Good times. I once did a video actually about how to put makeup on when your fingers don't work

  • You can watch that. Also, Maybelline Super-Stay 24-hour (such a long time)

  • Really does stay for 24 hours. You have to scrub it off your face. If you're kissing your delightful,

  • beautiful wife, it's not going to get on her.

  • It's not gonna smudge her lipstick, largely because you told her to wear Maybelline Super Stay 24-hour and now she does. However,

  • it is shiny. There isn't really a matte

  • option there and then I discovered the joy that is the Lola Von Rose lipstick collection

  • They also look stunningly gorgeous because they have little hearts on. True liquid lipsticks

  • intended for vintage ladies who like a very precise outline. Now, they kindly sent me four colors:

  • Vintage, Red Roses, Old Hollywood and Dark Cherry, which is very dark. I've mainly been wearing Vintage

  • They're really easy to apply

  • Once you have- they dry quite quickly as well. So once you've blotted them and you can add a lip coat

  • overcoat, and they're quite good. They won't move too much. They even last through softly pecking

  • Which is a kiss if they don't call it that in your country

  • But I don't go for a full-on smooch now. It's probably not a great idea

  • But just day-to-day it does stay on your mouth. It does quite good wearability

  • I would say about six hours even depending on what you're doing

  • the colors are quite stunning, Red Roses is

  • light and vibrant. Then we've got Vintage, which is the one upon my lips

  • Then we have old Hollywood, which is a slightly darker version of the Vintage. Actually, I say slightly darker

  • it's quite dark and then-

  • Dark Cherry, for when you really really feel like your soul is black today. I'm not gonna lie

  • I might give this one to Clara

  • She only does really dark lipsticks... or nude ones. She's a confusing contradiction

  • And yes,

  • I am discussing lipsticks because apparently I like to discuss lipsticks with you...

  • even though I don't like to discuss lipsticks with my friends. Favourite things number four:

  • Ah! I have new shoes! I have new shoes!

  • It's excellent!

  • These little beauties are from Charlie Stone. They're called Parisienne in brown

  • They are fabulous vintage-looking shoes

  • They are also

  • non-heeled, so you don't have to worry about walking around all day on your heels and how much that's really going to hurt

  • But they do have and this is vital for me

  • I can't wear actually flat flat shoes because I have foot drop in my left foot. I also- part of disability-

  • is that my feet don't roll themselves

  • by choice... So as you're walking along, your feet just roll. They do that. It's what they do. However, my feet- if I

  • don't tell them to do that- they don't do that and then I fall over. So if I'm walking on my tiptoes,

  • I don't have to tell my feet to do anything. They just pick up and go down... Back to shoes-

  • So inside they have a sort of hidden little wedge,

  • and it's squishy. That helps me walking around all day and will also help you, even if you don't have foot issues

  • like I do, your feet are probably going to hurt by the end of any day. [Indistinguishable] a whole range

  • of lovely vintage shoes and

  • They're one of those companies you only look at a website and you're like ah, I must collect them all. I need more space for shoes

  • I need more space for clothes as well. I need more space. (small laughing sound)

  • Forget about everything else I've just spoken to you about in this video. This is actually the most important thing this month

  • It's Sudafed!

  • Congestion and headache relief max strength capsules

  • I've had some issues this month, ok?

  • I've had some issues with my breathing both in terms that I just have a constant cold because:

  • immune system, wherefore art thou? Also around the time of my period, due to my connective tissue disorder,

  • all of my glands swell up, and this includes obviously all of my sinuses in my face.

  • And that is incredibly

  • painful and gives me splitting migraines. Also, Sudafed and Sinutab-

  • Sinutab is really really good-

  • Technically, the ibuprofen

  • version, but I used all that up because I ate it- in obviously measured doses.

  • So yeah, if you too have a connective tissue issue-

  • issue issue

  • Yeah, we're cool

  • (laughs)

  • If you have such an issue that your sinuses especially swell up cold medicine.

  • You've not got a cold but it's still gonna work. Favourite thing number six this month is the Lake District. Ah!

  • Please please please do go and watch my scrapbook video that I made about the Lake District.

  • Because not a lot of people have watched it yet

  • but I put a lot of time and effort into making it and I'd really appreciate it if you all watched it and shared it with your friends,

  • because I really liked making it.

  • There you go! Those are my favourite things this month.

  • I hope you've had a really good month as well

  • I hope that you did not go down with my really twister ankle

  • But I hope you did get something nice. Do you tell me down below what your absolute favorite thing of this month has been?

  • Particularly, which of my videos I've put out in the last month you've really liked so that I can then look at that, build on

  • that, go on to create more things that you will like and enjoy. And one final thing

  • if you are part of the K.F. Club- Bing! (snaps fingers)

  • I could just add a sound effect, but I quite like doing it with my own mouth. Then first of all,

  • thank you very much for joining, and for sponsoring this channel

  • I hope that you guys's sponsorship goes towards making all of the content on this channel better for everyone

  • I'm going to be releasing a special video that is just for sponsors and

  • that will be out

  • I believe when I finish the edit... You can find out by going to the Community Tab. In there

  • there will be a post that any sponsors can see and that will have a link. Follow the link and you'll get to that video!

  • Since this is the very first month, obviously we won't have that

  • back and forth, that I hope to create, but know that any comments underneath that video will then be responded to

  • the month after in that video or I'll actually just respond in the comments.

  • All you have to do is hit the sponsor button down below where you'll be able to see all of the perks

  • that you can enjoy. (La la la...)

  • Also there is a link down in the description which takes you to the video which tells you more about that.

  • It's been lovely chatting with you this month and I shall see you next month, my lovelies. (Mwah!)

Hello lovely people and welcome to my May...
