  • - Hello and welcome to my incredibly cream studio.

  • Yes, I know, it's cream and I'm cream,

  • but we're gonna put things on the walls

  • because we're going to be decorating

  • much like in today's video,

  • I am decorating my dream house in the Sims 4.

  • It was going to be building my dream house in the Sims 4,

  • but I filed for an hour and a half yesterday

  • and then realized,

  • I hadn't even clicked the screen record button, so.

  • (wind whistling)

  • We're gonna start with this beautiful empty shell

  • and take it from there.

  • Thanks to everyone on Twitter

  • who gave me advice and said that it was fine,

  • no one really cared about the building anyway,

  • they just wanted to see the fun decorating stuff.

  • This video is sponsored by Skillshare

  • where you can learn many clever things,

  • like how not to be a ninny

  • and forget to actually record your screen.

  • But also, basic interior design,

  • which you'll see me exercising today,

  • and they even have a new class on how to be a Youtuber.

  • I mean, again, does not include instructions on

  • how to record your screen.

  • But it does include Youtuber Sorelle Amore's

  • favorite tips and techniques

  • for building up a devoted online following.

  • Using examples from her own past content

  • and other creators she loves.

  • After taking this class

  • you're gonna be empowered to be your true self on camera,

  • share authentically with your followers

  • and to build a large following that can't get enough

  • of the real you.

  • Always the most important thing on YouTube I think.

  • Just be the real you.

  • 'Cause hey, if there's one place that's acceptable,

  • it's YouTube.

  • Skillshare can help you live your Sim dreams

  • and level up your skill set.

  • Their platform is basically

  • an online learning community of creators

  • who use video to better themselves.

  • Whether that be through gaining charisma skills

  • for promotion,

  • mastering woodwork to make money on the side,

  • or just gardening to relax.

  • There is something for everyone on Skillshare.

  • All Skillshare's original videos

  • also have closed captions

  • and they're working on getting the rest captioned too.

  • And I personally really appreciate that.

  • I know those of us who learn much better

  • when we are reading along with video

  • appreciate it too.

  • With premium membership comes the benefit

  • of unlimited access on all courses on their website.

  • Meaning you can find the course and the community

  • that works best for you.

  • Because it's also a community,

  • it's not just about watching things.

  • As a member, you have the opportunity to give

  • and receive feedback on projects

  • through the creator's community,

  • which can be a huge help.

  • Skillshare is giving away two free months

  • of premium membership.

  • To help you explore your creativity.

  • If you click the link in the description box.

  • And after that it's only around $10 a month.

  • Whether you want to fuel your curiosity,

  • creativity, or career,

  • join the seven million plus people

  • currently using the site to improve their skills.

  • And now let's test my Skillshare aided skills

  • as an interior designer.

  • So, as you're joining me, I made a few little alterations

  • to the outside of the house.

  • I mean, I say a few little alterations,

  • it looks so much better now.

  • Yay,

  • yay. (voices cheering)

  • I basically just didn't show the building aspect

  • because obviously forgot to record.

  • And then when I changed it from that,

  • I thought there were so many Tweets that just said,

  • we don't really care, Jessica,

  • we just want to see the decorating on the inside.

  • So, I saved us all a lot of time

  • with my slow slow building.

  • My building is in fact so slow

  • that this house looks okay from the outside.

  • But from the back, as you can see,

  • it needs some work.

  • On the inside, it's bare, there's nothing.

  • So we're now going to decorate the house.

  • But I'll give you a little tour first,

  • I'll show you around, I'll tell you my choices.

  • Can I just say,

  • putting roofs on this was the hardest thing

  • I have had to do.

  • There's so many different roof types.

  • I've been watching a lot of Plumbella though,

  • so if this house looks like something she's made before,

  • I apologize, it's not intentional.

  • It's just she's seeped into my psyche.

  • One of the things you can really see in this house

  • in the way that she has sunk into my brain

  • is putting little columns on the edges of things.

  • Which I have just done all the way around here.

  • And it looks so lovely.

  • It's very charming.

  • I've gone for a Edwardian,

  • my wife calls this Edwardian neo gothic.

  • Down here we have a garden that should be looking lovely,

  • but unfortunately, for some reason it's decided,

  • even though it's spring,

  • the plants aren't gonna look nice.

  • Maybe I'll come back and revisit this house in the summer

  • and it will look beautiful.

  • Let's get decorating.

  • So obviously I've done windows.

  • It's particularly dark, though.

  • Why is it so dark?

  • I really don't know.

  • Let's get some doors in

  • and see if that helps matters.

  • I don't know why it would,

  • but maybe, maybe it will.

  • So the front door, I've just gone for this one

  • because it blends in with the lovely stone.

  • Again, we're pretending it's bath stone, it's delightful.

  • Oh, I wonder if it's like the outside but brown.

  • That one?

  • No.

  • Not quite the Edwardian look we're going for though.

  • Oh, oh, this is beautiful.

  • Ah, delightful.

  • Is this a bit weird?

  • It's fine, it's fine.

  • It's ridiculous.

  • That ones cute, I like it.

  • Oh, maybe.

  • I love it, I love it, I love it.

  • Oh, I think that's okay.

  • I think that's okay.

  • Hm.

  • Hm.

  • Hm.

  • Hm,

  • hm,

  • hm,

  • hm?

  • The bathroom, yes.

  • Stunning.

  • Whoops.

  • Wow, these are all hideous.

  • I mean, does that even vaguely, oh.

  • (moaning)

  • I can't see.

  • No, not the red and orange, disgusting.

  • Oh look at that, see it's nice.

  • That's nice.

  • This kitchen is actually the same color-ish

  • as the kitchen that we're going to be putting

  • into our new house, which is very...

  • Into our new house, we're redoing the new house.

  • We live in the new house now,

  • we have done for about eight months.

  • But it's gonna be this nice dark green

  • that I'm really interested in.

  • I know it's a bit of a departure,

  • a bit of a daring color for a kitchen,

  • but I really like it.

  • And then the same kind of marbley worktops.

  • I'm actually pretty shocked.

  • Somehow the Sims has managed to replicate this.

  • Our kitchen won't be this exact design, I have to say,

  • and I wish, it's nice.

  • I like it, oh.

  • I don't know.

  • So far I just have items in this room,

  • that I quite like.

  • It'd be good if there's a trunk.

  • Obviously you have to have

  • this beautiful little world mixology thing

  • that I'm obsessed with.

  • Okay, what else do we need a drawing room?

  • Best kind of things that we could have

  • would be some delightful sofas.

  • Something quite fancy,

  • something that says, we don't have children in this room.

  • Oh, I could go for a green.

  • The green would definitely mirror the greens

  • throughout the rest of the house.

  • Why am I putting a piano in the house

  • when neither of the people play the piano?

  • Oh I'm gonna have to turn it

  • in a non diagonal fun fashion.

  • Upstairs we have got,

  • well upstairs we've only got really one room so far,

  • which is my, oops, (laughing)

  • I just realized that's my filming room,

  • here's all my filming stuff.

  • Oh, because that's what you do with the spare bedroom,

  • you make YouTube videos.

  • I really like white doors.

  • We don't have any white doors in our house,

  • but I really like white doors,

  • and I'd like to paint them all white.

  • All right, let's do a quick little bathroom.

  • It's not very big,

  • so I think we're just gonna have to go with the basic.

  • A little sink, a nice toilet.

  • A nice toilet.

  • And I personally really don't like showers,

  • but my wife does.

  • Oh there we go, compromise,

  • shower and a bath all in one.

  • Delightful.

  • Give me a nice mirror,

  • that's all I'm asking for.

  • Oh, that fits downstairs, that's cute.

  • But not right for here.

  • Awe, okay.

  • Now we've made the bathroom slightly pretty.

  • Can I put curtains in the bathroom?

  • What kind of curtains should we have in our bathroom,

  • just something small,

  • she says going for royal wedding swag.

  • (moaning)

  • Uh-uh.

  • All right moving on.

  • This our bedroom in here.

  • Let's make it lovely.

  • Right, we're gonna want to put,

  • where are we gonna put the bed?

  • Number one concern.

  • (singing)

  • I still find it weird

  • that the bushes are in with the beds, but.

  • Oh I guess this is a bit like our current bed.

  • We just have to find it in a shade

  • that works with this room.

  • That's horrible.

  • Okay, no, call it off, call it off.

  • Oh, no.

  • (winces) No.

  • Why do you not, why, why do you do this to me?

  • Why?

  • All that I'm asking for is an attractive bed.

  • Bedroom done, let's move onto baby room

  • for the absolutely nonexistent baby.

  • Going for the flowery wardrobe,

  • but we've got a bit flowery wallpaper,

  • but we've got a little bit kind of gender neutral

  • whatever happens happens.

  • Also I'm really just not into super pink, super blue.

  • So we've got a bear chair in there.

  • Should we have a little bookshelf?

  • A little bookshelf would be cute, wouldn't it?

  • Oh, this one's pastel, I think I'd rather this one.

  • Awe, see now that's cute, that's cute, isn't it?

  • I like that.

  • Decorative items.

  • Let's not put any creepy gnomes in there.

  • (jaunty music)

  • Oh, I love the little kid pictures on the wall.

  • Why am I putting these on the wall?

  • Still don't have a little child in this house, but,

  • it's fine, we just got baby fever.

  • Oh that's so cute, oh it's adorable.

  • Oh my god, the cloud, we need the cloud.

  • Claude's nickname at school was cloud,

  • so obviously we're gonna have a lot of cloud themed things

  • for our children.

  • I'm gonna put a little sofa at the top of the stairs

  • because that's not the right thing to click for a sofa,

  • because I think it's just nice sometimes

  • to have a little sit down at the top of the stairs.

  • I'm looking for a chaise longue, really.

  • Oh, oh, oh, oh.

  • Oh I'll just go for this, this is cute.

  • I am obsessed with,

  • oh, and look at that, that's very nice,

  • doesn't go with the doors.

  • Hm, panic about it now, panic about it later?

  • Hm, now.

  • Hello and welcome to the Kellgren-Fozard residences

  • and our little house tour,

  • I hope you like it.

  • I am the world's slowest builder,

  • so, excuse me.

  • But I've gone for an Edwardian neo-classical,

  • or according to my wife, neo-gothic look

  • that I think it's just because (mumbling)

  • There we go.

  • I think it's adorable.

  • I love these windows that came with the university pack,

  • so I built the house around them.

  • I love that it has beautiful little ivy growing up it,

  • we've got beautiful window boxes over here.

  • Look, we have a balcony that looks out over the park,

  • delightful.

  • So, you know, our little Sim children

  • can be playing over here with their friends.

  • And I can just look out this balcony

  • and tell them to come home.

  • A lot of greenery down here.

  • But I haven't really done much of the garden

  • because that's Claudia's doing.

  • (laughing) No, that's not true,

  • I'm still gonna have to do it, but it takes forever.

  • I have put a fountain in though

  • because the fountain is very important to me.

  • I have always wanted a fountain in my garden.

  • Then at the back, I've obviously not made a lot of changes,

  • 'cause I've not done the outside yet.

  • Beautiful little porch out there.

  • Right, let's go in to the house.

  • As we come in the front door,

  • we come into our wonderful hallway.

  • Oh, oh, there we go.

  • Steering, my steering on the Sims is not good.

  • Dammit, no, in, we're in the hallway.

  • Okay, so first of all...

  • I'm just gonna do it from up here,

  • it's fine.

  • So we've got a lovely neat little place

  • where we can put our coats and shoes,

  • I really love that, I want to design a little drop zone.

  • Oh I've just realized, there are no banisters on my stairs.

  • That will be corrected,

  • I actually can't climb stairs without banisters,

  • I need the sides, so.

  • So the kitchen is the gorgeous color of kitchen

  • that we're currently going for

  • when we're remodeling downstairs.

  • Look at it.

  • I'm actually really impressed

  • that the Sims has the same color.

  • It's a gorgeous green.

  • It's a little tealy, it's a little dark teal.

  • I like it, it's got a gorgeous marble surface.

  • Here, delightful.

  • I didn't quite go for the oven tower island thing

  • that we're actually going with.

  • But let's go and look at our bathroom.

  • Lovely.

  • So sleek, so sophisticated.

  • Oh, oh, I'm not personally a fan

  • of tiles going all the way up the wall,

  • but that's what we've got,

  • so let's live with it.

  • It's quite cute.

  • Actually, it's quite color coordinated.

  • I'm quite pleased with this bathroom.

  • And then we got the living room.

  • This is the snug room.

  • It's where we get all cozy and comfortable

  • and watch television.

  • And there's a gramophone in there,

  • in case we want to do a little bit of dancing right here,

  • which we do.

  • Claudia and I dance daily.

  • Because why not?

  • The moving out of the first living room,

  • the snug room, again,

  • we're gonna come into the drawing room.

  • Which is the kind of living room

  • where you just have a lot of learning.

  • It's very important.

  • Got another beautiful big, oh look at that,

  • look at that, look at that, look at that.

  • Oh, we're gonna play more records on it.

  • Delightful, Claudia has a record collection

  • that she loves.

  • We've got a big, beautiful bookcase,

  • full of knowledge.

  • Claudia got a guitar, rather than a ukulele,

  • even though she really wanted a ukulele,

  • but I'm sorry that I don't have a ukulele,

  • I was not gonna put up with a violin.

  • Beautiful paintings.

  • A chicken one for my wife,

  • a moody lady for me.

  • Also, Edwardian.

  • Gotta camera for Claudia

  • so that she can do some photography, enjoy herself.

  • We've got a chessboard for me.

  • Really like chess.

  • Do do, up the stairs to the hallway

  • that probably needs some more stuff.

  • We have my techy room, yay.

  • This is where I can film and oh,

  • film with a better camera.

  • And edit videos.

  • And also a drone, obviously for Claudia.

  • We all know how much she loves the drone.

  • Even though she can't really fly it

  • and she makes me do it.

  • And then going on through into our bedroom.

  • I love paneling, you may have noticed,

  • and I really want to have some gorgeous paneling

  • throughout the bedroom

  • that we're gonna be putting in upstairs in this house

  • when we have renovated our loft.

  • But we've gone for a blue theme

  • just because it was the only way to make things

  • look vaguely nice,

  • but it's not really the kind of thing I'd go for,

  • but you work with what you're given in the Sims 4, okay?

  • So we've got a bed with a very interesting headboard,

  • love an interesting headboard.

  • I went for a mix of curtains

  • because I can get these curtains on the sides

  • which is really silly,

  • I fell like there should be the half curtains

  • matching the larger curtains.

  • But a little dressing table over here.

  • Where are my clothes hanging in this reality?

  • No clue, no clue.

  • And then my little room

  • for when the little Sim Jessie and the Sim Claude

  • have a baby, which wow,

  • will be easier and cheaper than real life.

  • Good times, good times, good times.

  • Thank you so much for watching.

  • I hope you have enjoyed seeing me

  • make our little dream Sims home.

  • Please let me know which Sim-related videos

  • you'd like me to make next.

  • Should I make Sim Jessie and Sim Claude have a baby?

  • Did I just ask you for ideas

  • on what to make in the Sims next knowing completely

  • that it was just gonna be that?

  • It's just gonna be that, yeah,

  • okay I'm gonna make my Sims have a baby.

  • There we go.

  • Please leave in the comments any ideas you have

  • for names for our Sim baby

  • and I'll just choose their name from the comments.

  • So as to avoid my wife's wrath

  • by using a name we actually like

  • and will use for a human child.

  • Thank you once again to Skillshare

  • for sponsoring this video.

  • I would definitely advise that you go and check them out,

  • remember it's two months free trial,

  • and the link is down in the description,

  • down below.

  • Please subscribe if you're not already,

  • and I will see you one Tuesday for our next video.

  • (smooches)

  • (funky piano music)
