And today I'm trying all the most iconic looks from the eighties.

Okay, so I have no style, and I can never find anything I like in stores.

But I always wonder, would that be the case if I grew up in a different decade?

Today, I'm gonna try on a bunch of different looks from the eighties to see if I could finally find my personal style.

Since I clearly don't know anything, I've enlisted the help of eighties expert Montgomery Fraser.

Our first look of the day eighties aerobics aerobics blew up in the eighties, largely due to Jane Fonda's workout videos, which took the world by storm.

It became the trendiest way to exercise along with the colorful style that came with it.

So for this.

Look, we have a one piece spandex unitard.

This is a body suit that you put over this.

And these are Day Glo green leg warmers and had been, I guess tacky is what they were going for.

They were going for Expressionism, Okay?

They didn't want to Look, go.

This is definitely not Be brave.

Okay, but let's complete the look with hair in it, we're gonna enhance you with a papa blush because people like to look for lips were gonna choose a bubble gum pink to complete this.

Look, we're gonna flip out your hair because Gloria vanderbilt, who is an icon in the eighties, have blunt cut flipped out.

Okay, so this look is bright, I guess I don't understand.

Like why you would get this done up for the gym?

Because I feel you're gonna sweat it off anyway.

Can you imagine if I showed up to like Planet Fitness wearing this?

So to fully experience this look, I guess I have to get physical.

I should probably look up some real aerobics moves, right?

Just I just crushed the aerobics portion of this is actually fun.

I feel like the outfit and the color sort of gave me confidence.

My hair was kept out of my face because of the curl and the headband, which is literally so tight nothing could get through it.

My only issue is I don't know how I would have gone to the bathroom, because this is not coming off easily.

So our next look is eighties casual for this look, comfort was king.

But even when people were just keeping things mellow, they weren't afraid to let a little vibrant shine through.

We're going to do an oversized sweater with vibrant pattern.

We're gonna pair it with a pair of high waisted, acid washed jeans with a peg leg.

Did you say peg leg?

Because they gather at the bottom and they have a little bit of a stretch.

So let's get you changed makeup.

We're gonna start with a dusty blue pale eye shadow to mirror your earrings, which is gonna contrast with the Day Glo colors in your sweater for the eyebrows were going to give you a brook.

Shields, Look for the lips.

We're gonna give you a bold red lip on for the hair.

We're gonna put it up in a ponytail.

A little bit of an angle.

We're gonna put scrunch, ese.

It's gonna give you that very kind of on the go Washington kind of this looks where it feels like something I would maybe where in my life now, like I kind of like the high waisted jeans I wear high waisted jeans all the time Sweater super comfortable, little bit itchy.

I do love scrunch trees, but having four of them on seems like a lot.

I like this look, but I don't really understand how it could be casual.

So I guess I have to go test it out and do Cem casual things.

This look is actually pretty rad for doing nothing.

It's big.

It's comfortable.

I lounged around, I think, definitely, like hang out in my bed and watch Netflix in it.

Also, even though the makeup is a little bit dramatic for just hanging around the house, it's good for taking selfie, so I don't hate it.

What do we have next eighties business, baby?

In the eighties, the amount of women entering the workplace with skyrocket and they were adapting their style to compete in what happened A man's world.

For the jacket.

We have a double breasted blazer.

Men's tailored.

Perfect.

I'm double breasted.

We're gonna pair it with a herring bone vest.

Very tailored, Very elegant.

For the parents were doing a double.

Pleaded cuffed.

Felt pant.

That's very men's tailored.

They were competing with men.

They had to look powerful.

Yeah, let's get to business already.

So for this, like we're going to neutralize your face, we're going to line the eyes with a dark brown for the lips.

We're gonna do a wine Bordeaux color.

This will add a little bit of drama for the hair.

We're going to slick it back.

Very austere, A duality with femininity and masculinity.

I feel powerful.

I could, like demand a raise.

I could march into my boss's office and be like, uh, do you see these shoulder pads?

They be more holiday time.

Eye shadow is settling and cool the lips or super bold, but I'm not sure if they would like last after lunch.

I'm actually only a few floors above my office, so I'm gonna go downstairs and get down to business.

The hair is probably my favorite part about this.

With my hair slicked back like this, I feel like I'm in charge.

I feel like I'm not gonna take anything from anyone.

I was surprised at how similar the styles were toe what I actually see in stores today, and I'm excited to get back to it.

First up, eighties prom Prom night was potentially the biggest night of an eighties high schoolers life with movies like Pretty in Pink Bringing prom's into the spotlight.

Everyone was more than excited to show up and look their best hair and makeup is pretty intense.

This whole look is gonna be about tonalities for the eyes were to keep it into Lileks and plum for the lips.

This was the night to be as big as possible for your dress.

Kind of good first snarl and kind like a I've never worn dark lipstick before.

My teeth look very white.

I mean, there's a lot of black on my face and we even put some vastly and I think to make me look greasy, even if I do get all sweaty like Ma Shagan dancing all night, that kind of adds to the look and makes it that much cooler.

Punks are known for loving to piss off their parents.

She's the quintessential eighties icon.

Madonna.

You can't talk about theeighties without bringing up the Queen of Pop from Material girl toe like a prayer.

Madonna not only set trends with her music, she also created countless looks that inspired girls across the globe.

We're gonna start this look with a lacy teddy.

Then we're gonna put a boost a over the lacy teddy to push up the puppies.

Madonna used to wear a lot of two twos, so we're gonna put this over everything else.

And to finish the look, This cropped bee jeweled floral fringe jacket.

Now, let's get you into this material girl to really invoke Madonna.

We're going to give you a smoldering bedroom.

I with a very brushed eyebrow.

And the lift is gonna be a pouty orange red.

We're not going to do any cheap because it was all about the eyes and the lips.

Especially with an outfit like this, where the hair we're going to do a kind of a scrunchie washing go kind of look and tie it to one side, crunch it up.

So it is very downtown.
