  • Hi, guys.

  • How are you doing?

  • All things considered.

  • I hope that you're having a lovely day right now.

  • It's beautiful weather outside, and I just am very inspired by spring time and all of the blooms.

  • Right now we have cherry blossom trees that are blooming and some little purple flowers.

  • That is why I want to talk about today is how I plan to add some colors into my wardrobe for this season in a really thought out way for anybody who has followed me for quite some time.

  • You might know that back in 2017 I started over on my personal style because my wardrobe before that was mismatched.

  • And a lot of the pieces that I found were just because they were the absolute bottom of the barrel clearance rack or sample sales or anything like that, where I might have just found something kind of interesting looking and wanted to bring it home and see how I could mix it with whatever else I had going on to the point where things didn't quite fit right and things weren't really quality, and a lot of times I might have holes in them even have purchased them with holds, So I just wanted in 2017 to have a clean break and start over on my wardrobe.

  • So I ended up buying a lot of elevated basics, meaning if there was a good pair of pants that I knew I needed, like a black pair of pants, something that could wear for my entire life, and it would never go out of style or break down, hopefully thin.

  • That's what I would buy.

  • And that's where I started over.

  • And I did that for quite a long time, to the point where I'm still wearing those pieces today, several of them and they are absolutely vital to my closet.

  • So moving from there now, you know, Now it's 2020.

  • It's built up now to the point where my wardrobe really works.

  • For me, everything fits me properly.

  • A slight exaggeration of this is still true, where I could go into my wardrobe and pick out two things in the dark, and the hope is that they matched, you know, that I could wear them together, Um, the exaggeration being that of course, not every piece is gonna blend while together with another piece.

  • But color was not an obstacle for that toe happen.

  • So it's kind of like having this Swiss Army knife closet.

  • Now.

  • I've been feeling a little bit uninspired by just having only neutrals, and I like to reinvent myself again, meaning that I'm still gonna stick with what I have built so far.

  • But I want to start to add some seasonal colors into pieces of clothing that are elevated basics.

  • So I'm not going to shy away from having a shirt or a basic pair of pants that might be not in a neutral color scheme.

  • So now, moving into 2020 I am trying to think of how I can best represent my closet to match me and the things that I personally am inspired by.

  • I don't want my closet to ever be dull or uninspiring to me, and I wanted to be a reflection of my self expression.

  • So when it comes to adding colors into my wardrobe, I'm gonna be doing a lot of very intentional things.

  • But I do want to just take some of those colors that I have in mind and start to infuse them into my elevated basics.

  • So in the past for reference.

  • Whenever I have added one or two colors into seasonal items that I might need for that season, like if it's a sweater for spring, it might be a light blue spring color.

  • I would only stick with light blue and maybe one other seasonal color and on Lee, put that in the seasonal pieces, like a sweater or a raincoat or something that I might need for the season.

  • Now I am going to be taking those colors and putting them into pieces like I have today, where it's not just sweaters, butt into other things as well.

  • I'm not going to shy away from having pants or anything like that.

  • That is a color that I want to stick Thio.

  • So now I want to talk about which colors I'm going to choose.

  • These have been very carefully chosen, and I want to be very specific on even the tone of the colors.

  • So just for reference, the colors that I've kept my closet toward for the past was that, like three years has been black, brown, khaki, white, ivory and blue.

  • So those air very neutral tones there's something that I will wear forever and they should be timeless.

  • So now I want to talk about how those colors will now match the colors.

  • Behind me.

  • First is Navy Navy is a color that I ended up going with for last summer.

  • I felt like it was the perfect color to go from summer into late fall and would blend very effortlessly with the other pieces.

  • So I do want to keep that color going in my closet permanently.

  • This is something that will match a lot of things, and then it will just determine which pieces I need to buy for that season.

  • The new color into my wardrobe you guys probably saw in my last video is this Royal Blue.

  • I think that for my skin tone, which seems to be a little bit on the yellow or golden side of things but very pale is that I want to add something that's gonna compliment that well.

  • And Royal Blue seems to be a color that works very well for my skin tone.

  • I think it's because of that complimentary color that you see on the color wheel when you see blue.

  • The other side of that is orange, and then the range and there can kind of go toward yellow too.

  • So Royal Blue seems to be working well for me.

  • I also I'm going to be adding some of these lights tones of blue which have been in my closet for quite some time.

  • But I will be adding to that section.

  • I feel like that's gonna be something that really matches a lot of different things.

  • My power color is going to be read a CZ.

  • You can see I'm coded and read today, but it is something that I'm finding to be extremely flattering and honestly read is a universally flattering color on any skin tone.

  • And it is something that I also feel is quite timeless.

  • There's gonna be different sort of hues of red that are going to kind of change with different decades.

  • But ultimately I feel like this Red is going to be able to stand the test of time in my closet.

  • So now I've got a range of different pinks.

  • There's three pinks that I'm aiming for in my color scheme, and they're very particularly chosen.

  • So one is this coral pink color.

  • It is something that again we'll go absolutely wonderfully as I move in the summertime and get a bit more of a tan and get that golden glow a little bit more with that, so that's gonna be great.

  • I also want to go with something that's a dusty rose, so this is really a good point to bring up the fact that the pinks that I'm going with are not like in the sort of like few sharp purple li tones at all.

  • I absolutely don't think that that matches with the colors that I'm choosing here, so I'll talk a little bit more about that later.

  • But I did want to bring it up now that, like the colors that I'm choosing here, are they have a certain vibe to them.

  • So I've got this dusty pink color that is almost into the corals.

  • But then it's like muting it, and I think that a lot of times, if you commute some colors and push the other colors forward, that's gonna really work well as a color scheme.

  • And then next I'm just having this light pink tone.

  • This is something that's absolutely so perfect for spring time, but it is something I've found that I incorporate into summer as well.

  • And even into fall.

  • I've weren't light pink a lot, which works really well with, like browns.

  • So that's another intentional thing that I'm doing.

  • And then that just fades into more of this cream beige color, which I also I'm just kind of including encompassing in this light pink.

  • It's almost like a beige er, even moving into a cream.

  • So that's what I'm doing.

  • And then it's just gonna carry into the ivory's in the Whites, and that's gonna blend so perfectly when it comes to just mixing and matching these things without it breaking that beautiful color scheme of the neutrals.

  • Now I'm just adding those colors into it, and I do think that these colors you can mix and match most of them just so beautifully, even together, and they're gonna really work well.

  • So as you can see from this mood board, everything is going to be very cohesive, and every little purchase is going to be something that is chosen with a lot of care and thought.

  • So that's gonna be a really good technique to if you have the software.

  • If you wantto print things out or something, Um the ability to be able to go in and see.

  • Does this blue match this pink?

  • Is that going to go well together?

  • That has helped so much in this process of finding which sort of pinks that really wouldn't have worked.

  • So it's better to just say, instead of just, I'm gonna add pink to my closet to be really specific about which tone, because you can have a purple pink.

  • Or you could have this sort of like red or yellow muted tones.

  • There's different little colors in each color than that can make your whole color scheme go together very well.

  • So that is what this whole process has been.

  • I wanted to bring it up today, too, because I plan to post a lot more videos coming up that include color, which is so out of left field for me and for you guys that follow along as neutral fans like I still consider myself to be.

  • But this is how I'm intentionally moving forward with my closet, and I think that I'm really going to love it when I have my seasonal clothes that I take out of storage every year, and I'm like, Wow, this is gonna be just so incredible toe wear this season.

  • So keep your eye out this week for some videos that are coming up, including these pieces, this kind of a sneak peek.

  • I'm not going to try any of them on today, but it is something you will see me try on in videos coming up.

  • But today I just wanted Thio kind of get my thoughts together and talk them over with you guys.

  • I'm super excited.

  • And if you have questions to regarding color schemes, I can try to answer those down in the comments.

  • And I can't wait to talk with you guys.

  • I've missed you so much and I'm just excited to get in a routine again.

  • In the meantime, stay healthy and I will see you guys in a few days way go together.

  • Never thought you pay.

Hi, guys.
