  • Hello, everyone, and welcome to another video.

  • Now you may remember a few videos ago I published one entitled I paid the worst rated PC specialist to fix my gaming PC, I'd recommend what unit one first is.

  • This is a follow up to that.

  • Any way to summarize?

  • I replaced my working Do Tex 9 80 in my rights and five gaming system with another working but old card, the GTX for 80.

  • I don't took my system as a whole toe a few local PC specialists and asked them to diagnose and replace any broken components.

  • The secret was that everything was working fine.

  • I just wanted to see who would be honest with me and let me know this.

  • And who would just carry out unnecessary work.

  • The 1st 2 specialists started my system to were honest and told me that everything was working as it should.

  • But the third person Jeff, who operated out of his house, replaced my working do checks for 80 with a GT 545 card that is in no way a suitable replacement.

  • This was after telling me he was going to replace the 4 80 with something that was just as good or better.

  • He charged me £150 for the privilege on dhe.

  • Yeah, let's just say I wasn't satisfied with the experience.

  • However, it did make for entertaining video.

  • If I do say so myself off the publishing, that video, a lot of you guys told me that I shouldn't let it go, and I should get back in contact with Jeff in order to try and get a refund.

  • This is the story of what happened.

  • So I contacted Jeff, who surprisingly, hadn't blocked me and asked for a refund of £100 in exchange 45 45 back.

  • Jeff was happy to oblige, much to my surprise, but he did say he was going to keep the £50 labor as he had carried out some sort of work.

  • Fair enough, he had replaced the card, and for some reason he had turned my power supply upside down.

  • As you may remember, he then hit me with the I can also repair and return The Jew ticks for 84 years.

  • That's odd.

  • He had previously told me it had been responsibly recycled, he said, It's broken, but I can repair it for you for £75 using heat blast.

  • What Jeff meant was that he was going to put it in the oven on some tinfoil for 5 to 10 minutes of 200 degrees Celsius in order to get it working again.

  • Now, this is a process that some call re bawling.

  • But all you're doing really is just putting a graphic start in the oven.

  • It does work.

  • Surprisingly, in some cases, you can resurrect a dead GPU like this, perhaps for five minutes, maybe five months if you're lucky, but isn't a service that someone should really charge that amount of money for and it's not a long term solution.

  • Put it that way.

  • I've politely declined.

  • Perhaps that's why Jet, for so eager to refund me in the first place, he thought he could still flora little bit of money back by doing this process that he referred to as heat blasting.

  • After going back to his house to collect my money on dhe, the Jew ticks for 80 and it's apparent Broken state in what was one of the most awkward situations in my life.

  • Perhaps he had seen the video.

  • I didn't ask him.

  • I didn't tell him about the video, but there was something about him that said, I'm going to do something that you're not going to like.

  • I got the 4 80 back and the money back, and for some reason, it was now missing the sparkle sticker.

  • I guess he took that off because he was going to try and sell it on.

  • Hopefully, I wouldn't notice.

  • Maybe he thought I'd be on the lookout for it, which I waas.

  • And by removing the sticker here, it would look like a slightly different card.

  • But the serial numbers do match up.

  • This is my old for 80.

  • I haven't tested it yet since getting it back.

  • I was waiting for you guys.

  • I want to see if it is broken.

  • As Jeff says, Maybe it's been broken on purpose by him.

  • Um, but who knows?

  • We all know.

  • You guys know, and I know that it wasn't broken when I went into this.

  • So it be interesting to see if it is working now or whether or not, as I say, it has been purposely damaged because he did tell me that if I don't have it repaired using his service is it wouldn't work.

  • Nonetheless, that's get it back in the system and see if my four eighties working.

  • I'm just glad to have it back.

  • What a beast of a card Better than the GT 545 any day.

  • So here is the 4 18 all its glory.

  • This is a very old card, but it was once the best GPU that money come by these days.

  • Well, that doesn't really apply.

  • But if you turn the settings down in a lot of modern Triple eight games, then you should still be able to squeeze 30 frames per second from it.

  • As you can see by this, GPU said screenshot, the card is fully working.

  • Despite what Jeff told me, Andi, as I sat down for a little bit of a gaming session, it was nice to see that the card still performed as it should.

  • As expected, there were no artifacts on screen.

  • It didn't break halfway through my gaming session.

  • It worked just as well as it did before I dropped it off at Jeff's House inside my rise in five gaming rig.

  • So that whole re bowling thing, that heat blasting thing that I was told could be offered as a repair service was just another way to try and squeeze a little bit more money out of me.

  • When I got home, I had actually been blocked by Jeff, which is a little bit of a shame.

  • As long as it doesn't affect my ability to report him, then I'm pretty happy with that.

  • I don't see a reason to need to speak with him again.

  • And he probably knew that I'd get home and find the 4 80 working.

  • He probably just didn't want the argument.

  • I don't think I'll drive down his road any more.

  • Interesting case.

  • He's outside and sees me anyway.

  • It's nice to have the 4 80 back.

  • I've been the proud owner of this thing for a while now, and hopefully that can continue.

  • Winter's coming, so when it gets cold, I'll just stick this in the system and run red dead too, for a little bit.

  • Actually, no, I won't because it crashes on.

  • Start up with this card.

  • But yeah.

  • Anyway, thank you for watching.

  • If you enjoy this video a lever like on it.

  • I don't want to dwell on this too much because this was just a follow up.

  • And I don't want to focus too much on scams here on this channel.
