  • Tonight, we'll see and hear firsthand this kind of sound

  • Hey guys, salut. It's Alex. It's 6 a.m. here in New York.

  • This is day two of the New York flog and we are gonna

  • go get some good bagels. So let me share with you the plan for this morning.

  • So basically we are downtown... so around here... and

  • I want to go in the upper east side, if I'm not mistaken. I AM mistaken, upper West

  • side to a place called Absolute Bagels.

  • Absolute Bagels, it's supposed to be the bomb when it comes to bagel, and also it's not far away from Central Park,

  • so I thought maybe we can go. We get some bagels. We go to Central Park.

  • We might be just a tiny bit late for the sunrise, but we get the morning vibes, okay?

  • Let's go

  • Wow, nothing makes me more happy than a blue sky.

  • The place we're going to is supposed to be one of the City's very best bagels.

  • I mean, the best bagel in New York?

  • That's some pressure for sure. I'm really happy to be in New York. That's a good [chair]. I love mornings.

  • I love the evening and the wine and all that stuff, but I think I prefer the mornings. Every morning is like a new promise.

  • It depends what you like, sesame, poppy, everything.

  • Oh even better.

  • Yeah, absolutely.

  • So I just got two bagels at Absolute Bagel. When I arrived like an hour ago

  • only a few people's were waiting,

  • but as soon as I came out the whole place is packed. Like literally, you have to wait one hour to get one bagel.

  • And now I am on my way to Central Park because I believe that great food deserves great places.

  • All right, so I think there's a spot with my name on it.

  • It's gonna be perfect to enjoy

  • those beautiful bagels, and I'm really hungry because I had almost nothing, like a

  • half of a cereal bar this morning.

  • Good.

  • You are gonna sit right there

  • so you can watch big big bagels, big big bagels. There are dogs everywhere. I'm a bit scared with all those bagels.

  • This one's some kind of a weird one but it's a fancy one. It's whole wheat

  • Everything bagel

  • with Blueberry cream cheese.

  • It's good to have a sweet bagel in the morning. I feel like it's easier to wake up. So everything bagel has

  • sesame seeds, poppy seeds, salt,

  • but also some garlic flakes.

  • I mean it's good on its own, and it pairs right with the salt, but with the blueberry cream cheese,

  • I'm not sure. No. Doesn't work so much with the blueberry stuff.

  • The best bagel to go with this blueberry cream cheese would have been a cinnamon bagel.

  • Making whole wheat bagels or whole wheat bread is always a bit more

  • technical than making plain bagels or plain bread.

  • The rising time, the proofing time, are not the same and also the dough doesn't react the same.

  • I mean, frequently it's more dense than plain bagels. I can't say this bagel is very fluffy.

  • It's more like.. it's soft, of course.. It's more like dense and chewy.

  • I can feel my teeth biting into it.

  • Next bagel.

  • It's a more classic one. There's nothing on it. It's just a plain bagel with butter.

  • I think it's good to have a

  • reference.

  • Oh, soft.

  • The plain bagels were fresher than the whole-wheat one, so I really expect a lot from this one.

  • Do not disappoint me.

  • Oh, that's better. That's way better.

  • Complete different world. I told you about the difference between whole wheat and plain...

  • There it is.

  • It still is dense and, you know, a bit chewy,

  • but it's not the same.

  • softer

  • fresher

  • lighter

  • This is Superb. This is stunning and the skin is very shiny. How shiny?

  • I'm gonna say something very French, but it reminds me of a fresh baguette in Paris.

  • I can feel the same

  • dedication and the same

  • freshness, I love the slight crisp there is when you bite into the skin, into the crust.

  • Seriously guys. I'm not lying

  • This is genius, and now I can safely say it. You can't find good bagels in Paris.

  • Nope. I've been to many places... you can't find good bagels, like great bagels.

  • mmm Having a fresh bagel in the middle of Central Park on a sunny day. What a nightmare.

  • So I'm gonna say clearly, that plain bagel with butter,

  • out of ten? was a ten, definitely a ten.

  • Come with me.

  • That's the end of a beautiful

  • morning spent in Central Park with those lovely Absolute Bagels.

  • Guys, I really hope you enjoy this kind of different

  • immersive experience. I really wanted you to fully enjoy and fully experience what I, what I felt on that

  • particular day. So you know, as much as I love editing like short and punchy stuff,

  • It's also nice sometimes just to cool it down and just to share more with you guys.

  • So if you like it and give it the thumbs up like it, also leave your comments down below.

  • It's always nice to hear about you.

  • Last of course, subscribe to the channel because I make new videos on Wednesday and

  • Sunday, mostly about getting the posh out of French food, but it's also about sharing great food experiences.

  • Many more parts to come in this flog and also many more videos to come on the channel, so take care guys.

  • Bye bye, salut.

Tonight, we'll see and hear firsthand this kind of sound
