  • Good morning guys, it's January 1st here in Japan. Happy new year. It is currently

  • 7:06 a.m. and we are in the car

  • Nicole's with us too!

  • We're in the car heading to the shopping mall to get lucky bags

  • If you are new to the whole new year's lucky bag concept, here in Japan on January 1st

  • The majority of the stores will put together a surprise bag of their products

  • And they usually sell them for about a hundred dollars

  • They're all different, but it seems that the average price is about a hundred dollars. You have no idea

  • What's in it most of the time, sometimes you get really good stuff, sometimes it really sucks

  • Last year, I got a clothing bag from one of my favorite clothing brands

  • But the stuff in it was like

  • Nothing like what their clothes usually look like, and I wasn't very impressed with it. Some people in the comments thought the stuff was cute though

  • So it's totally up to you your own taste whether you like it or not, but this year

  • We're going really early because I really want to get another Pokemon bag because last year, the Pokemon lucky bag was so good. It was

  • Such a good deal. It's only about

  • $40 and there was so much stuff in it, it was so fun. So gonna line up and get that

  • Then I'm thinking to get a couple clothing bags. I want to get a cat bag again cuz that was also fun

  • Yeah, we're just gonna wander around the mall and see what looks like a good deal

  • Going in

  • Poke Center should be...just round the corner here.

  • So everybody's waiting at the different escalators, and I don't know which one goes up. This one says it-

  • Yeah, maybe here

  • Pokemon Center is on the second floor

  • So we got to wait by an escalator for them to open it I guess.

  • Alright, so this was the proper escalator because everyone in line is playing Pokemon. Kim's here with us

  • The three of us are gonna try our best to get some Pokemon bags. If there's a Raid like, right here, perfect

  • So it's like, 7:30-ish right now and the Pokemon Center opens at 9:00

  • so I think we're gonna be standing in line for like an hour and a half, but

  • It's worth it. Yeah. We are near the front

  • Let's see, there's this many people in front of us so

  • The lines getting quite long now

  • So here's a list with all the lucky bags that are available, all these different stores

  • Two sides. We're just looking for Lush, but it looks like there isn't one this year. Oh god, Moussy

  • There's only a hundred Moussy bags

  • It was so bad last year haha

  • I'm so tempted because I've gotten it all the years previously and they were really good

  • Moussy, I don't know what happened last year

  • So some of these stores you can go to early and line up like we're doing for the Pokemon Center

  • And then they'll give you a little ticket

  • Like this so we got one for Adidas

  • And then we can just go back any time before four o'clock to pick up our bag, so it's cool

  • You can grab those and then go to your next store and get another ticket, but unfortunately for the Pokemon Center

  • They don't do that so gotta wait till the store opens

  • So we just saw the 3Coins store has a lucky bag

  • They're all only three dollars each, even though lucky bag. This one's ladies socks, ladies accessories

  • Random goods so probably like house- household goods, and nail stuff. I don't know what that is, like nail polish I guess?

  • Four minutes to goooo

  • They're running. I've never seen people in Japan run

  • We made it! We're in line, and we're like, I don't know, like the fiftieth people in line, yay!

  • It's totally worth waiting

  • Since, 7? 7-ish for

  • The bags, so we should be already here soon, then we can head somewhere else to get another bag

  • Not sure where yet

  • I see the bags over there

  • It looks like they have two types of bags this year- the big ones that I got last year

  • And there are smaller plastic ones on the table over there

  • Got my tickets, so the other bag was a card bag. I decided not to get it

  • [In Japanese] Thank you

  • Kim got the card bag, so if you want to see what's in the card bag go check out Kim's channel

  • Hmm, house stuff would be nice

  • Ooh it's only 3000 (yen)

  • I just want it for the bag

  • We're in line at Ingni now for a clothing bag.

  • It's a really popular one, there's so many people here.

  • Kim got this bag last year and it had really cute clothes in it so

  • We're gonna try our luck again this year. Hope the stuff fits, it only comes in one size. So,

  • It's kind of a gamble but, why not

  • You can see the bags in the back there.

  • They're so big!

  • Okay, we dropped our bags off in the car because they were so heavy!

  • That Ingni bag was so big!

  • So we're heading back into the mall now.

  • We're gonna try and get a cat bag

  • cuz that was pretty good last year, they got a scratching post that they really loved and

  • Toys- I think there were toys in it too- toys and snacks, so

  • Gonna see if we can get another one of those.

  • We made it to the pet store

  • And they have two different bags this year

  • Fifty dollar one and a thirty five dollar one. This one seems to have a cat bed

  • Which we don't really need

  • We've got lots of cat beds that they've never used so we're gonna go with this one

  • And here's an example of what might be inside. It looks like lots of toys, so they'll be happy

  • I'm not gonna give them any treats anymore. It's because of Maro's stomach problems

  • I'm scared to give them treats, so we're gonna go for the toy bag

  • They have a dog bag for

  • $700, I think it comes with a dog buggy

  • Wow

  • They have a kitten at the pet store that looks just like Maro did when he was a baby

  • It's so cute

  • Oh my god.

  • He's fighting with the kitten next door so his tail's all poofy and his ears are (inaudible).

  • Alright, I decided to go back and get the clothing bag that I was eyeing

  • Because it's really cute. It's this fluffy pink bag, so even if I don't like the clothing inside

  • At least I really like the bag and I can just donate everything but, I think there's twelve things in here?

  • There's quite a bit in here, so there should be something good.

  • This Ank Rouge bag is super cute, but their clothing's really girly, so I don't know if they'd have anything that I would wear

  • Alright, this is our haul for this year. My husband got a couple for himself

  • One for the cats, few clothing ones. TIme to head back home

  • We tried out a few new bags this year

  • We've never gotten the Adidas bags

  • And I looked online and it looked like some people got some pretty cute stuff in there and even if it turns out being something

  • That I wouldn't wear on a daily basis

  • I can always use it in the gym. Our new apartment is right near a gym

  • And I'm really excited about that so I figured the sports bag would be a good investment

  • We each got one of those- one is men's and one is women's, will be opening both of those. My husband picked up this

  • it's a

  • Lucky bag of men's underwear

  • This one was from a clothing store that I've never heard of, I don't even know the name of it

  • but the bag was really cute, so I figured I could use this bag just as a big purse and

  • It looked like there's lots of stuff inside and this one was only

  • 7,000 yen, so seems like a good deal

  • Excited to open that.

  • This huge one in the background. It doesn't look that big

  • It's really big. The name of this clothing brand is actually "Ing", apparently this is just supposed to be like

  • Read this way or this way and the actual name is just I-N-G

  • This is probably the most popular clothing bag in that mall that we're in today. The line was so long

  • We got ours, and I went back a couple hours later and passed by that store again

  • And the line was twice as long and I can see why because they give you so much stuff

  • This is a really heavy bag this one cost

  • 10,000 yen so about $100 but

  • Just judging by the weight, there's lots of clothes in here so

  • This bag here is for the cats

  • Lots of toys in there, and then last but not least is the Pokemon bag

  • The one that I wanted the most. I got two but only one is for me

  • So we will be opening the Pokemon Center lucky bag which cost 4000 yen this year,

  • Same price as last year. It was amazing last year

  • They gave you so much stuff, so I'm expecting something just as good this year, we will see.

  • So I will be opening all of these lucky bags in separate videos over on

  • My other channel- my Sharmander channel, so make sure to go subscribe there

  • I will have the link down below in the description box
