I guess you'd call it like summer vacation, spring and spring vacation.

So the school year in Japan usually ends mid March, but because of the virus, they have closed schools starting now two weeks early, which is insane.

I I can't think of a time where they've done that before.

So everybody is kind of like panicking about it, because parents are having trouble finding people to take care of their kids.

It's not really a thing here to baby sit kids in Japan, is it?

You never hear parents like hiring baby sitter.

So parents that have both of them working there's no one at home to take care of the kids.

It's kind of like causing a lot of trouble, but I thought I would just do like a day in the life with you guys today and show you what it's been like recently.

Up until a couple days ago, I would say things were just as he was really panicking.

People were just like wearing masks more left and you would see like, um, sanitizer sprays and stuff in all the stores, and that was really like the only difference here in Japan.

But a couple days ago, when the prime minister announced that the schools will be closing, people kind of started to panic because that's quite a big deal on duh.

Then there was this tweet that went viral.

Somebody said that there was gonna be a lack of toilet paper in Japan because the paper was being manufactured in China and the factories wouldn't be producing as much.

It was a complete lie like it wasn't correct at all.

But it spread throughout Japan and everybody started to believe it.

And now we can't get toilet paper because certain people have been hoarding at all.

You've probably seen clips on Twitter, of Japanese people going crazy and Costco like piling up their carts with, like, 18 packs of toilet paper and tissues.

Paper towels like everything is gone from the grocery store.

Mark's gonna drive us out to like a bigger grocery store today, and we're gonna see if they have any stock left.

But my local grocery stories didn't have anything.

They happened for the past three days now, and it's not just toilet paper, you can't buy masks.

Rice, like all the essentials people are just stocking up on.

And there's just not enough for everybody to buy now because of those certain people.

And it's gotten kind of crazy, like ask for the number of cases in Japan.

There really aren't that many that have been officially reported.

There's probably just over 200 now, aside from the 700 or so that happened on that cruise ship that was quarantined in Yokohama.

But I have a feeling that the numbers are so low because the government, like, refuses to test people like people will go in with a high fever and lots of the symptoms.

And they'll question you would ask if you directly been toe Wuhan or if you've been in direct contact with somebody who has the virus, and if you say no to that, then they'll be like, Oh, we won't test you that so you could have easily just picked it up on public transportation or who knows where, right.

But the criteria for testing here are so strict that they're not testing anybody, and it's really crazy, even for old people.

They say that you have to have a fever for two days straight before they will consider testing you on.

That's really dangerous because health officials were saying that if an elderly person has the virus long enough that they've had a fever for two straight days, that they're already so bad that they might not be able to heal from it.

So I'm pretty disappointed in how much Khan is dealing with it.

I have a feeling it's because they don't want the numbers to rise because then the Olympics will be canceled, but like it would be great to know exactly what's going on.

Korea, on the other hand, is doing an amazing job, and they're testing anybody that wants.

They're testing that 10,000 people a day.

Yeah, so that's probably why they're numbers were so high and everybody's like Oh, my God, create is a mess But I would assume that the numbers are at least not here in Japan as well.

Way just don't know because they won't test anybody.

But anyways, we're off to yon the really big grocery store to see what the food and toilet paper situation is like.

People are even buying out all the pods and tampons.

Imagine having your period and not being able to come here and buy things.

Likely, they're still a few left, but you never see the shelf deal like that.

Uh, this is the toilet paper shows There's always these bolt tissue paper.

Things, I think, is the extent of our toilet paper supply in all of Morioka.

So he tweeted the other day about strange serial collection that they haven't this grocery store and let you guys were interested in.

It's actually gonna be filming a video with Emma Toki Doki traveler where we try some of these strange serials.

But this isn't new on apple cinnamon bread, cereal.

The Children's roe is so fun in Japan, they have so many toys.

The devil's got some of those before you get this one I've never seen pretty flavored.

Gotta get one about soccer too, which is really nice.

It's probably not one that I would buy all the time, but I always got it during sacristy.

Oh, and they have the dark chocolate one.

Someone mentioned this on Twitter and they said they were disappointed that it tasted too much like the regular chocolate.

So there's like, two of my favorite things.

Well, we're gonna be Oh, because they set up this cute little area where you could take photos.

So I'm not Starbucks right now buying a little water bottle from my friends that I'm making a package for.

But it's crazy how things have changed here.

They don't allow you to use your reusable cups anymore because they don't want to touch anything.

Also trying to give you a little hard when you order something with soy milk just to like, ensure that they probably made it so I can get back to you.
