  • My name is Michaela, and today I wanted to make one of these like talking video things that I haven't made in, like such a long time, because for the first time in a long time, I have something I want to say.

  • Theo Word Guijin is a shortened form of the word guy.

  • Coca gin, which translated, literally, would be outside country people.

  • So basically, anyone from outside of Japan is a guy, Coco gin or Guijin.

  • But usually the word Guijin refers to like Westerners.

  • Anyway, having said that, today's video is called Why You Can't Get a Guijin Girlfriend.

  • And this is kind of something that I've been thinking about for a long time because I am a I am a guijin woman.

  • Basically, it's not uncommon to hear phrases like this or the guidance kits, you know.

  • Come on, Xena.

  • A bullshit.

  • The gradient after China gradient skeptical machina Jean O'Connell.

  • If you've ever found yourself saying one of these things out loud, you need to stop saying that you want a foreigner as a girlfriend and that any foreigner will do just cast a huge blanket over all of us.

  • women and assumes that we're all the same.

  • And this is also very dangerous for you, considering I can control the color of my hair.

  • But you know what?

  • I can't control my mood swings, and I'm speaking just for myself here.

  • But if you're dating me with the intent of learning English, you better learn fast because the second that there is a problem or that I am upset, I'm going to be throwing those English words that you so fast you're not gonna know what.

  • Hey, but I am a communication in on the hostage story.

  • Muss.

  • Okay, All jokes aside, though, here's my honest opinion.

  • The truth is, a lot of foreign women in Japan already feel like they stand out a lot.

  • And it could be very, very, very tiring and very uncomfortable.

  • When you're sitting on the train, are you taking the bus?

  • So you're on the subway or you're walking downtown.

  • People stare at you.

  • People make you feel like there's something wrong with you when you go shopping at stores.

  • People are afraid to talk to you because they're afraid that they can't speak English and you don't speak Japanese.

  • You go to a restaurant that give you an English menu.

  • Taxis sometimes don't even pick me up because they think that I'm not gonna be able to tell them where I'm going.

  • Basically, on a day to day basis were judged for our appearances by telling us that we're your type based on the way that we look, You're basically just part of the problem and the very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very last thing that I want when I go home at the end of the day is to spend my private time with someone who also makes me feel like I stand out, that I'm different and that I'm weird and I don't belong the same time.

  • This is gonna sound contradicting.

  • We also want to feel special women.

  • Maybe we want to feel special, but they also want to feel special.

  • What I mean is when you are saying that you're dating someone because you like foreigners, your overlooking the things that actually make that person you need to treat them special because they're funny.

  • Treat them special because they have talents, they have thoughts and feelings.

  • They do things that you like.

  • They have similar hobbies they make you feel good about yourself.

  • Thes airways, that we make people feel special, not by honing in on their appearance.

  • When I think of a lot of the Japanese guys that I know who are dating foreign women, they're dating them because they're like, No, what's up?

  • I wanna go see a movie.

  • Let's chill sometime.

  • I did a guy because he makes me laugh or he makes me feel confident about myself or makes me feel secure about the things that do make me different.

  • Makes me feel like you know, it's okay, I I stand out.

  • But that's okay, because something pretty cool.

  • And when I do find a guy like that, honestly, what country they're from or what they look like or where they were born or, you know, like what their nationality is, It's the last thing on my mind I don't care.

  • I care about being with someone that I genuinely like and want to spend time with the second that you throw the word Guijin or guy Coke region into like your prerequisites for dating.

  • And when you say that to someone, you're kind of blowing here chances altogether.

  • I have a meaningful relationship because you're basically making them feel like they're not being seen as who they are building.

  • Will you get a region where meat cook on the documentation?

  • If you judge someone on appearances, you know, that gets old fast.

  • Focus instead on building, like a meaningful, loving relationship with the people that genuinely interest you and the rest of the benefits should follow.

  • Yeah, that's me being all like, loving creature on on the Internet.

  • That's it for today.

  • But if I have an opinion about something else, I might make another video like this in the future.

  • Cool.

  • Okay.

  • Did you forget the rest of the woods?

  • Okay.
