  • you.

  • Ah, you.

  • This new movie agreed.

  • Which is?

  • It's It's interesting movie because it is quite a serious subject.

  • Uh, it is also very funny in moments, uh, and so I think it's sort of walks that razor's edge between being compelling and about something very serious.

  • But about your character is someone who's this over the top wealthy person who's completely lost perspective.

  • Yeah, it's we just wanted to talk about like I play a character who's obnoxious, flamboyant, uh, nasty, unpleasant, bullying, But funny.

  • You understand me?

  • Oh, thinking of suing.

  • I watch it.

  • I'm like, I see my grandma.

  • Beautiful.

  • So he's horrible.

  • Yeah, but really awful things that distinguishes us is he has this character has this incredibly crazy spray on.

  • Looks like a spray on tan.

  • Yeah, well, we'll explain that playing a tycoon and a lot of billionaires, you know, they sport these all year round tens because they're normally in their tax havens, which are floating palaces that cost $400 million.

  • And so they get.

  • They go brown because they're on deck, and then they throw the price of an SUV at the mouth so that your teeth are insane.

  • in this movie.

  • I don't know if we've the The teeth are practically glowing.

  • This character has all the money in the world, and he's clearly spent a fortune having these massive favour.

  • I I don't have that in England way sort of try and we try and do the best we can without teeth, you Americans, But I had to look like some from L.

  • A.

  • So I I just I just love that.

  • I can't tell you how many meetings I've had you being someone You gotta meet this guy.

  • He's a really good corporate lawyer.

  • You know?

  • You'll understand how to help you.

  • He'll come in and they'll they'll have those.

  • Tina Yes, put shades on to toe.

  • It's insane.

  • It's insane.

  • Uh, greed.

  • As I said, it's a, uh, I would say it's ah would even describe it as, say, necessarily a comedy.

  • It sze comedic elements.

  • But what you're talking about is a really problem.

  • Yeah, we're talking that the movie's about.

  • We're talking about the fashion industry and the fact that high street clothes cost you going to buy a T shirt for $10 on we Look att, supermodels and famous actors and pop stars wearing these clothes, and we think we're gonna buying a bit of glamour by a bit of empowerment.

  • But really, these clothes are made by garment workers in factories in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and get paid $4 a day for companies like Zara and people like Wal Mart on Dhe.

  • These companies were, you know, they they're worth like 20 billion or 60 billion.

  • Sometimes.

  • In the case, Walmart 170 billion on the's garment workers are paid a pittance on what we do in the movies.

  • We marry those two things together because s oh, so one week was shooting on a super yacht.

  • Monaco.

  • Yeah, and the next we were shooting in the garment factory in sure, Lanka on dhe.

  • On what we try and stay with movies.

  • It's not actually that complicated.

  • It's like the reason they're super rich.

  • Super it because a bunch of people are super poor.

  • Yes, that's you.

  • Just connect the dots on way.

  • Just wanted Thio talk about that and put it on the map made people think about where it's not just about cheap clothes, but it's about high street fashion.

  • But it could be about any industry really on?

  • It's not that we're sort of like pointing fingers and these people about.

  • It's just that the system that we live in makes those things happen.

  • Yeah, possible?

  • We talked about this.

  • When we talk, we will talk about We talk about the environment, about gender politics.

  • We talked about diversity and all this stuff.

  • It's really important.

  • But this elephant in the room is like is poverty on dhe?

  • The huge gap between the rich of the port that cuts between your character, who's throwing the movie takes place during 1/60 birthday party for himself and literally, he's He's spending like tens of millions of dollars on his birthday party, and you contrast that with how he's getting the money.

  • Yeah, we have liked ref, us Syrian refugees in the movie who played themselves on the garment workers play themselves on uh, on.

  • Then we have this, the party where he makes it so if he has a sort of sick sense of humor, which makes you laugh.

  • But it's also quite obnoxious, like, for example, the refugees are on the beach and they're spoiling the view off his guest to his party and someone says You can't, you can't move them They've come, you know, thousands of miles And he says, Well, come all that way They might Won't mind going a few extra yards down the Yeah, he's your character is an incredible prick, but he's got teeth for days.

  • We have a clip here from greed, and I believe this is where your character is actually been been being brought up to, sort of.

  • He's being held accountable by, I believe, the British government.

  • Oh yeah, for some of his transgressions in its finances based.

  • It was based on a real guy called Philip Green in England loosely, and he was holed up before the House of Commons.

  • He was quite flamboyant guy, so loosely based on him, But, yeah, that he was subject to the kind of scrutiny that super rich people very rarely have to endure.

  • Let's take a look at this clip from Green.

  • It is an investigation.

  • Too much tax suffice.

  • I pay what I have to and no more.

  • They're not stupid.

  • If you want to chase people avoiding tax, why don't you go after the big boys?

  • I mean, look at apple.

  • Look at Amazon Starbucks while you tasting May right, It's not them suggest you Google it.

  • Mr.

  • Chairman, There's another company.

  • How much accident Google pay?

  • Not very much.

  • If you don't believe me, talk to barn.

  • Oh, he's avoided a hundreds of millions attacks while claiming that you two are based in Holland.

  • Doesn't stop him.

  • Go around the world in your nan's sunglasses proclaiming about ending poverty or whatever.

  • This is him in the daily mail.

  • You'd be stupid not to try and cut your tax bill, says Bardo.

  • Finals on line one.

  • I'm sure.

  • You know, I'm sure Bonner will survive a bit of criticism from someone in an independent movie.

  • Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  • Well, see, uh, good luck to you.

  • Green is in theaters tomorrow in New York and Los Angeles.

  • It'll be in theaters nationwide on Friday, March 6.
