  • I breathe from my diaphragm.

  • I'm scared.

  • That's gonna affect You'll be fine.

  • Is your name Gate Mon Terraza?

  • Yes.

  • Are you 16 years old?

  • Do you play the character, Dustin?

  • In stranger things, I do well calibrate it.

  • Yep.

  • Wait to go, then Let's get started.

  • Okay.

  • First thing we'll talk about stranger things.

  • When you first read the script, did you think the show be as big as it is?

  • No, I hoped obviously.

  • But we not a lot of us had, like, the greatest amount of hopes for really blowing up just because it was a very small production and, uh, this before, like, a lot of pictures were even coming out.

  • So this is only a couple, Really?

  • I think order is the new black big one at the time.

  • And what if it's one of those?

  • What if it's one of those?

  • Come on, guys, let's take it back.

  • And if you ever get stopped by fans when you leave your house, someone did come to my house.

  • Once I was watching a movie with my girlfriend and all that.

  • I hear a knock on the door.

  • I thought it was like I don't know, if it was like my brother coming home from school or something.

  • Open up the door on your two little kids and I'm like, Oh, cookies.

  • Yes.

  • I was so excited.

  • Like you, Gaitan.

  • Yeah.

  • I don't know.

  • They're gonna give me, like, a letter or something.

  • Like, Can we get a picture?

  • And I was like, all of a sudden I find out the next day they went to my grandma's house and she invited them in for, like, coffee processes.

  • My grandma Larry, I don't know.

  • I don't think they have mutual friends or something.

  • I don't know how they figured it out, but like my grandma and finding them in like that, you should never do.

  • But they were great people.

  • Do you get a lot of fan mail?

  • Yeah, a lot of fan letters.

  • I can't always read them, though, because, I mean, there's a lot of his pilot like there's not always a lot of places to put them.

  • There's like a part of my room.

  • It's just like a bunch of, like letters and paintings and stuff.

  • I look like a sociopath.

  • It's in love with myself because there's a bunch of paintings like of me and, like, next to my bed on my dresser, and it freaks me out when I'm looking at it.

  • But a lot of them are so great.

  • I just want to keep them because they're so talented.

  • People put so much time and effort into them.

  • But a lot of times, it's hard to read all of them or keep all of them have ever met someone who has a tattoo of you.

  • Yes, I have.

  • I've seen pictures of people with my face on there.

  • I've actually signed someone's arm before and they came back the next day and the day a tattooed it to themselves.

  • Does that freak you out a little bit?

  • Yeah.

  • Feeling excited for the new season?

  • Yeah, Well, one summer really change everything in ways.

  • Does Netflix train you How to answer when people ask you for spoilers?

  • Actually, yeah.

  • They send in like, a guideline before press junkets.

  • And they say what you can say what you can't say to let you know exactly howto handle certain situations, but we've done it for a while, so I feel like we're pretty good at it.

  • So can you give me some spoilers?

  • No.

  • Just one of the main characters died this season.

  • Yes.

  • Well, this character will ever catch a break.

  • Yes, Luke, do you know what's gonna happen in the final season?

  • No, I know that.

  • I know that they have certain things planned.

  • Uh, I don't know what?

  • They don't usually to express that.

  • Do you know any spoilers for other Netflix shows?

  • No.

  • No, I don't.

  • Does Netflix punish you?

  • If you spoil stranger things?

  • I don't know.

  • Because I haven't done it yet.

  • Eyes your hope.

  • Different fan theories about the show on ready?

  • Uh, yeah.

  • Sometimes I do.

  • Sometimes they're cool.

  • Sometimes they're accurate, and sometimes they're just lame.

  • You mind if I read you a couple, please?

  • Do you think it's possible that will has psychic powers that can open the gates to the upside down?

  • Maybe that'd be really cool.

  • He's got something going on.

  • Have you ever pondered the idea that Hopper might actually be 11 step?

  • No, I've never really liked that theory.

  • There's a lot of stuff, people that think that, but these are the make any sense.

  • I mean, you look back to his daughter, looks nothing like Millie and the age doesn't match up with with the time with how much he's aged from that point.

  • And, uh, it wouldn't make any sense.

  • I think it be far fish.

  • 11 would recognize him if you could.

  • Would you bring back Barb from the upside down?

  • I wouldn't, uh really, because I think her death was essential and demonstrating that nobody was safe.

  • Even the most innocent, likable, relatable character couldn't be saved from what's going on.

  • Anything that really resonate with values with audiences.

  • And I think that's why they wanted to come back because they liked it so much because she didn't deserve it wasn't fair.

  • That's why she died.

  • Sam, do you think the upside down's actually involved in it?

  • Universe?

  • Yeah, that's interesting.

  • There's a lot of theories that it might be from the future.

  • Do you think the upside down could be part of the multi first?

  • What do you mean?

  • Like, maybe it's part of the Marvel multi vers.

  • Oh, something like that.

  • Um, I don't know about that.

  • I think that they want to keep it within the straight to think universe as a whole, but, uh, but maybe it would be interesting to think about.

  • I think it's definitely a lot closer to home than we might believe her, or maybe even a lot further.

  • There's a lot more about it we don't know, and I'm really excited to see where they take it to see if we can learn more about.

  • Do you think it's possible the Riverdale is the upside down, and that's my barbs there.

  • I don't think so.

  • No, really, That's interesting to think about at you like your character's makeover at the end of Season two.

  • I wouldn't personally dress up that way, but I think it was very fun, actually.

  • Didn't take that long Thio to do, but it was very fun getting to dress up like that.

  • You joined a lot.

  • She never warned that hairstyle in regular life.

  • Well, I mean, I have technically, during the shoots, but I wouldn't use it as a stylistic choice.

  • Now, Luke, that one was largely deceptive.

  • What?

  • Oh goodness, who would you say is a better mom, Joyce Byers or Steve Harrington?

  • Probably choice.

  • She never stops trying.

  • She never stops wanting what's best for your kids, and she doesn't care if she puts herself in harm for that, and she was a very good protector.

  • But it seems like he's always the one, in a way seems to bring them towards the trouble, even though if you should probably keep them back.

  • I feel like every time I mean, of course, she doesn't never really wants to bring them there, but when he's there, like, helps them out in that sense.

  • But I think Joyce, I think Joyce would die for any of the kids.

  • I think Steve might to now.

  • But before, maybe not.

  • Do you ship Hopper and choice?

  • I do, Yeah, I think it's a really cool.

  • I think it's interesting plot, right.

  • I think that would be really cool if they went further with that.

  • I do.

  • Season three comes out July 4th 747 plus four is 11 coincident?

  • Most likely.

  • Let's move on to your co stars.

  • You and the other stranger things cast seemed to get along very well.

  • Do you have a group chat?

  • Um, wait several.

  • I guess.

  • I think there's some depending on what's going on, because sometimes there press junkets that happened.

  • There's just three of us, so we have a group chat and his group that's with all of us are on.

  • We don't really use it a lot, especially when we're in Atlanta, because we see each other for 10 hours a day every day.

  • Literally need to text.

  • Is there any one person who text too much?

  • No, actually, we don't text each other a lot.

  • I think we should.

  • Is there a collab in the works between your band and Finn?

  • Wolf Heart?

  • In my mind, there is a really cool I like that.

  • And even if it wasn't even if we didn't make music together at least like a show together would be a lot of fun.

  • I think that would be great.

  • Do you know who would win in a battle of the bands?

  • I'm gonna say them right now.

  • It has a more original music and they all play instruments.

  • Really?

  • On DDE?

  • Yeah, it's probably like the only reason I would see them now.

  • But who knows?

  • I mean, we're still making our stuff, so we gotta, like, establish.

  • I sound first, I think, but someday, someday, someday someday would you say that this man, Joe Curie, is more of a heart throb.

  • Then this man dicker Montgomery.

  • No, I wouldn't.

  • For some reason, I just feel like I don't know why, but for some reason, like every one of the female friends that I have asked me about taking before I would 100 they stack up against this guy Noah sent in a, uh my girlfriend's in love with him.

  • He tells me all the time.

  • I don't know his name comes up more with that topic.

  • So I'm gonna say, Can you tell the difference between the two duffer brothers?

  • I can.

  • And I know exactly how I can.

  • Um, Matt, always Matt has this gray streak in the front of his hair.

  • It's natural, he isn't a white, has it, and he's always had it.

  • That's how I told him part to begin with.

  • But eventually, like you start to like to say for certain future, don't you even realize what they are?

  • And like eventually, it's just like it's not even a question anymore.

  • At first, sometimes I'd mix them up, especially when it was like night shoots.

  • So you're sure you can tell them apart?

  • Not really.

  • When their kids usually like pictures when they were like students.

  • Probably not.

  • But now definitely.

  • Which one is this?

  • Uh, that's Ross.

  • I believe that's Matt.

  • No way.

  • It's not Matt.

  • That's not mad.

  • It's raw.

  • Is that Matt?

  • Sorry, buddy.

  • Just the cast Ever go out to karaoke together?

  • Baby karaoke.

  • Yay for the season to wrap party and I couldn't attend.

  • I had to get out of there really quick.

  • I was upset about that.

  • But I have never gone to do Carrie okay with them before.

  • I'd like to you, though.

  • We've done Carrie okay on your own.

  • You go to song.

  • It depends I I'm in.

  • I'm a musical theater guy says I don't think that usually people don't really care about meeting a musical theater, this in no way fund.

  • Listen to what?

  • Karaoke.

  • But this one who would win in a karaoke?

  • Yo, you poor Millie.

  • Bobby Brown?

  • I don't know.

  • I might say her.

  • He was, like, much more energetic about the whole thing.

  • So I think she might be a little bit more comfortable doing it.

  • Whenever I do it, I actually go to try and sing as best I can.

  • And that's not what karaoke is for is that I have fun with my ideas.

  • I have something to prove.

  • I don't carry a view.

  • What about a rap battle?

  • How she totally went for sure.

  • She told everyone I can't wrap this in my life.

  • What about you versus this person?

  • Killed McLaughlin?

  • It's hard to say, Actually, karaoke.

  • You were still Sam?

  • Yeah.

  • I don't know.

  • I think I might take him.

  • I think I'm I think I might take him on Carrie.

  • Okay.

  • But we have to actually have official battle to see.

  • Sounds like the gauntlet thrown.

  • So I think so.

  • Excited now.

  • Okay.

  • Let's talk about your life.

  • So you've been auditioning since you were seven years old?

  • Did you know it's seven that you wanted to be an actor?

  • Not in particular.

  • Not particularly.

  • I think it was until I was about nine.

  • When they first actually got my first role that I realized I was like, Oh, yeah, that's what I want to do.

  • Have you ever bombed an audition?

  • Oh, yeah, for sure.

  • It's actually funny.

  • One of the auditions that I bombed actually got the role for It's funny.

  • I messed up on the script like, three times.

  • I went into the room crying.

  • I was nine and I actually got the role.

  • Is the 1st 1 I ever got?

  • Is it true you played Gavroche in Les Miserables?

  • That's true.

  • Yeah.

  • Did you know that Nick Jonas also played that role?

  • I did.

  • I think Nick and Joe both worlds apart.

  • Do you think your death scene was better than his?

  • Actually, I've never seen his death scene.

  • Oh, wait.

  • No, that's not true.

  • I have.

  • I think that the way the scene in my profession was choreographed was way cooler.

  • I'm gonna say it's Nick's.

  • That's uneven performance, but the way it was set up is really cool.

  • Do you think you make a convincing dying face?

  • Yeah, I think the key is just relax, everyone.

  • Your muscles.

  • It's not just about not moving.

  • Just when you think not moving, you tense up.

  • When you tense up, it's unconvincing.

  • Further the keys.

  • Just relax, Holmes.

  • You're sleeping, but your eyes open.

  • Give us a sample.

  • You just gonna 10 7 Okay.

  • My head rolls back.

  • Naturally.

  • So how's he doing?

  • He's dead.

  • Let's move on.

  • Okay.

  • Even older sister and a younger brother.

  • I do.

  • Do you feel like you get less?

  • Attention?

  • Is the middle child.

  • Not necessarily simply because of the line of work I'm in.

  • I don't get less attention from from more attention from my parents.

  • Obviously, they treat us both all three of us equally.

  • Would you say you need to be the center of attention?

  • No, I don't like being the center of attention, But you're an actor.

  • I am.

  • Um I think the reason I act is simply just because it's so easy and so it satisfying to get lost in somebody else.

  • But I think that those who go into V hunting field to get attention are not gonna make it far.

  • I think if you're in it for the right reasons and you do it because of your passion, you do because you love it.

  • You're gonna do fine, Luke.

  • He is being truthful.

  • So proud of.

  • It was nice.

  • I'm glad that I didn't get nervous for a reason.

  • Do you think your parents have a favorite child?

  • Probably.

  • It's definitely not me.

  • Do you still have to do chores?

  • Um, there isn't much sure we need to do chores.

  • And, like I we get yelled at for not taking out the trash and doing the dishes for.

  • You need to ask you about the litter box more than, um, my brother Mrs to do.

  • We have three cats, so there needs to be a lot of scooping.

  • And so I feel like I'm one of those groups of most.

  • That's a lot of scooping, just saying 100% true.

  • And it is.

  • Mm, you told Jimmy Fallon that a fire alarm once made you cry.

  • It's true, actually.

  • The story about that, um, I found out quite recently that Well, my girlfriend is the grade is very younger than me.

  • Sure she was in second or first grade.

  • She pulled the fire alarm.

  • I was like, Oh, that's funny.

  • I cried in second grade about the fire alarm ringing, and I fell out of my chair.

  • She's like, Wait, when was this?

  • And we figured out that she was the one who pulled the fire alarm that made me cry.

  • Do you cry?

  • A lot depends on the situation.

  • I think I'm good at sharing my emotions, and I think what helps is sometimes, like I'll just cry at night.

  • Just you need to cry.

  • I think everybody needs to cry.

  • If you don't like.

  • A lot of stuff gets bottled up.

  • There's nothing to be ashamed about it.

  • I'm not ashamed of it.

  • Can you cry on command?

  • It's hard, but I've done it before and it's weird because usually when I know I have to cry, I can't.

  • But it's the times when I don't need you or when.

  • I don't necessarily think I'm going thio when it happens.

  • So joke.

  • Yuri told Glamour that you're one of the brightest young people he's ever met.

  • That's very nice of him.

  • Would you agree with that statement?

  • I don't know.

  • I think there I know many people that I believe are smarter than me, and I know many people that have achieved many greater things than me.

  • I think I do pretty well in school and I think I like.

  • I love learning.

  • I love knowledge and I like obtaining knowledge.

  • But I think smarts is different.

  • I think brains and being smart is different than knowledge.

  • But I really appreciate you saying that how we doing that?

  • This is a very truthful person.

  • All right.

  • Next category.

  • Let's talk about pop culture so you have almost nine million followers on Instagram I do If acting doesn't work out Are you considering a career?

  • Is an instagram model?

  • No, you have a fence to Graham.

  • I knew if Instagram Ideo it's usually for my friends.

  • I haven't posted on it And like a year, I think it's been a while.

  • I I usually use it just so I can, like, pose like random stuff that I see a lot.

  • Is this funny?

  • Do you have the app that lets you know when someone follows you?

  • No.

  • Okay, you don't have to follow.

  • You know what's here?

  • I get sometimes people like for sometimes I don't post for like a month and 1/2.

  • And when I do pose, it'll be for something like something for my band coming up.

  • So another really interesting going on.

  • So I get why somebody would unfollowed me.

  • Have you ever used face tune on any of your photo?

  • What's that?

  • So you don't know?

  • Oh, like Photoshopped?

  • Yeah.

  • I usually don't like you.

  • They might have been something like for like, uh I mean Islanders photos on me like that photo shop for like for like promotion for changing things and stuff like enhancers like for like to make the quality of the cooler, but I wouldn't do that personally.

  • People does a running joke that I post like terrible, awful quality pictures of myself and of everything else.

  • Like like like look up like like an image off line.

  • I'll explain, shot and then posted it.

  • And that will be a picture like Kate.

  • Come on, you could do better than this.

  • You could definitely better Would you consider yourself to be part of Gen Z gente?

  • Yeah, I'm not.

  • I don't think.

  • Be honest.

  • Do you floss every day?

  • My teeth, though with the dance?

  • No, I have done it.

  • I've done it before because I'm actually pretty good at it.

  • I might want to grow up a little too fast.

  • There are things that I like stopping a kid for now, but I realized that I just need to accept what I have now and know that once it's going, I'm not gonna get back.
