  • Hello.

  • I'm Gabby.

  • I'm sweaty.

  • Were the slo mo guys we have been for many years now.

  • We're in a quarry today, not in my back garden, because this is gonna go up really high, and we don't know where it will land.

  • Don't want to litter the neighbors.

  • Guns.

  • Yeah, exactly what we're doing down is a classic physics experiment where you take some of the coke out there and replace it with liquid butane fuel.

  • I mean, it's an upside down.

  • It shoots off like a rocket because of physics because of physics.

  • But I'll explain a bit more of that.

  • We'll learn about that as we go.

  • Shall we begin?

  • Yes.

  • Excellent.

  • All right, Dan.

  • Compressed physics lesson go.

  • There's a pretty cool science experiment using the interesting properties of butane because it is boiling.

  • Temperature is about zero degrees C, which, if you're American, I guess, is something thirtysomething Fahrenheit.

  • It's basically when water freezes 32 for two for tonight.

  • Okay, on.

  • It's stored as a liquid inside this cannon because it's such a it's only zero degrees.

  • Is the boy in temperature?

  • It means it's not super high pressure in there.

  • And when I released this nozzle here.

  • What's happening is gas will come out initially liquid, but it's just gas.

  • And that's because the butane is vapor.

  • Pressure is coming up on dhe.

  • Letting the gas escape is if I turn it down like this like when you're feeling a lighter and you're actually using the fuel.

  • What happened is the liquid will escape.

  • Robin, the guests.

  • Yeah, like that.

  • It taste nice right now.

  • We're gonna use that for we're going to use that inside of this coat bowl.

  • Now, I'm gonna pour some of this coke out, probably down to like, here ish.

  • And when I put the liquid in because the butane is less dense than the Coca Cola, it will sit on top and a little layer like that, and it would start boiling then and vapor will come out the top.

  • But when I turned upside down, what happens is because the butane is pretty much immediately boils because got all the contact with the coat, which is warmer than the butane, and cause it to instantly vaporize, which increases the pressure inside the coat can, causing a rapid expansion of gas and then escapes out the bottom causing a sort of rocket effect on this Venturi shape here, where increases the pressure due to the narrowness of the bottom of a but also helped with that.

  • And you can actually do this with war.

  • Can't you accept?

  • The effects aren't is pronounced because of this.

  • No combination.

  • That's right.

  • You can do it with water.

  • But with the Coca Cola, what happens is the combination comes out of solution, and that increases the amount of gas in the bottle even more so you get even more of a rocket effect, we will begin 1000 frames a second info.

  • Okay, it's gonna bag this.

  • Excuse me, viewers.

  • Even though this is a interesting science experiment, definitely.

  • Don't try at home.

  • The bottle could fly up and hit you in the teeth, all the eyes, and it's also incredibly flammable.

  • Okay.

  • You ready?

  • Yeah.

  • Good friend.

  • Whoa, whoa.

  • Flip panic.

  • Just win.

  • That was like it was struggling up first.

  • And then the guests finally met.

  • Its really went boom.

  • Okay, playing back.

  • So it's all about rapidly turning over rather than, like, slowly, because it has to right through the coat.

  • Yeah, so let go at this point is expected it to go.

  • It just looks like it's floating.

  • Now.

  • What if there was any propulsion?

  • And I think it's just grabbing kicking in?

  • Yeah.

  • This note is anything.

  • Until then, it's like way butane coming up.

  • It's like tons of meat into gas.

  • The wavy lines in your face, chubby.

  • Like, what character do we look like?

  • They're with the mouth like that.

  • Like some sort of muppet, You know, one of the Three Stooges.

  • Yeah.

  • So it looks like what actually happened was the Kogel left the bottle pretty much, and then it went off, I think.

  • Possibly for the next test.

  • Less coke.

  • More beauty.

  • Let's cook more beauty.

  • Okay, I pump up the butte.

  • Ready?

  • Yeah.

  • Oh, I got covered.

  • Some air time.

  • Really?

  • Got some hang time there, didn't it?

  • All right.

  • I want to see with the feds if I tried to track it.

  • Absolutely no shot.

  • There's no way I'm gonna be able to do that because it doesn't take off immediately either.

  • Yeah.

  • I didn't want to leave to see you again.

  • All right?

  • When it goes up, lift way.

  • No, the size of that.

  • Actually, we should take measurements of the size of the coat bowl, and then we can park how quickly that's moving.

  • That's a good idea.

  • Look at this.

  • Look at this attempt to track it.

  • Nice one.

  • Bloody Oh, it's hot under this bag.

  • You Are you in the You're in the bag.

  • Oh, it's like a face.

  • Sorta.

  • Oh, Johnson.

  • Co guys extremist like it's, like 10 degrees hotter.

  • Well, ah, put your head in that bag and see what you think, all right?

  • Nope.

  • Now, I don't fancy that seal just like whizzing down the bottle.

  • Oh, here we go.

  • Yeah, I feel like there's a lot of factors in play because once it starts moving, the rest of the coke gets kind of slammed down into the bottom.

  • Andi, it's also becoming lighter at the same time, so it's like an exponential thrust.

  • This is an absolute vie hander.

  • You asked it like tha this actually stops it from evaporating as much.

  • Ready?

  • Yeah.

  • Writing.

  • Oh, good.

  • Wait over there.

  • No, no.

  • Avoided getting where to lead, like a proper slow takeoff compared to the other one.

  • Well, I went right, boy, I got absolutely annihilate.

  • Oh, okay.

  • I just got it was like that immediately at frame.

  • But you just get a big fat ones are too slushy like I can't, like, turn them upside down in the right amount of time.

  • Yeah, like they just saw.

  • And I bet because it's your Like you swung it around.

  • Yeah, it's ready to go, but the liquid is still inflicting this way on it.

  • Yeah, And then it goes up at an angle, Keeps going off to the side and splashing me.

  • I've got a medium sized one I can still do with one hand, I think.

  • Yeah.

  • And I could do it pretty quickly because it's one handed.

  • I think it be a good sort of compromise between the two.

  • This could be the perfect size.

  • Yeah, you get Whoa, That was the best one.

  • I think that was great hand Lord.

  • Rock it very much.

  • All the coke's now out.

  • You see that?

  • And then it just starts spinning like 50 feet up.

  • It's like you need a really long one.

  • Yeah, just you wouldn't be able to throw a coke bottle that I would You know, it doesn't have a 1,000,000 years.

  • It's like you give a team rocket like little lens flare.

  • That's good fun that I had fun not to be done indoors, Of course.

  • Probably not for a greenhouse.

  • I actually like it when this science experience or ah, sort of really fun at the same time as you're learning something.

  • It's an exhilarating experiment.

  • Yeah, so it's like a lot of buildup, and it's very sudden.

  • I thought it was gonna be more of like an explosion.

  • Like I thought it was gonna be, like, slightly more risk of this, like, bursting open or something like that.

  • I was a bit unsure.

  • Yeah, like the first time I did it, I was like, Well, but then after that, I was like, actually is like a gradual sort of pressure build up in that shoots off because sheen on you, You got your absolutely caked in coke.

  • Ah, it's the thing is because it doesn't evaporate in the sugars left.

  • I'm just sticky for the rest of the day.

  • Did you bring a change Clothes?

  • No, I really should learn.

  • Never.

  • I never bring like we packed everything into this truck.

  • Hopefully you enjoyed that video.

  • Feel free to subscribe.

  • Whack that bell.

  • It doesn't make a noise.

  • Sadly.

  • But it does do a lot for us.

  • And we have a second channel.

  • Yeah.

  • See, in the next video, we found a ble was literally Yeah.

  • No, not again.
