  • find us at TPM videos Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom brings many

  • classic Disney stories to life in their rides and attractions no small detail

  • goes unnoticed in a Disney theme park and the attention to detail is what

  • makes Disney stand out from the rest many of the stories Disney tales in

  • their parks are from a catalogue of animated feature films that date all the

  • way back to 1937 and there's a lot of references to these classic Disney films

  • hidden all around Magic Kingdom either they're tucked away somewhere and hard

  • to spot or they appear in places where you wouldn't normally expect to find

  • them so get ready to explore some classic Disney films around the theme

  • park as we count down the top 7 hidden disney movie references at Magic Kingdom

  • number 7 the forest animals when New Fantasyland was constructed in 2012

  • Disney added these castle walls as a gateway into the land now Snow White has

  • a presence in Fantasyland with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train but on the pillars of

  • these new castle walls you'll find some familiar animals from Snow White in the

  • 1937 feature film Snow White meets her forest friends and among these animals

  • are many squirrels and chipmunks while these pillars of the new castle

  • wall and Fantasyland feature sculptures of these forests friends but you might

  • be saying how do you know these are actually a reference to Snow White they

  • could just be any random chipmunk or squirrel they can be Chippendale well

  • we're gonna take a quick trip to Disneyland in California to take a look

  • at Snow White scary adventures on the front of the ride building you'll also

  • find pillars that have the exact same sculptures on them the fact that they're

  • featured in The Snow White ride at Disneyland only makes sense that they

  • reference those animals from the film the only difference at Magic Kingdom is

  • both standing chipmunks have their hands on their stomach as opposed to one with

  • their hands directed outwards but there is no doubt that Disney recycled the

  • version of the molds from Disneyland at Magic Kingdom allowing the characters

  • from Snow White to be hidden somewhere that's not the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

  • number six a dog's heart lady in the Tramp is one disney movie that doesn't

  • really have much presence at the Disney theme parks the movie never got an

  • actual ride but as you walk through the front gates at Magic Kingdom you'll find

  • Tony's Town Square restaurant on the right-hand side it's an Italian

  • restaurant that's based off Tony and Joe's restaurant from the movie the

  • inside is full of references to Lady and the Tramp including a fountain

  • centerpiece of the dogs and pictures on the wall that depict scenes from the

  • film now all of this decoration is in plain sight but there's one hidden

  • reference to the movie before you even enter the restaurant if you remember

  • back to the films Bella Notte scene where the iconic spaghetti kiss happens

  • there's a montage of lady and Tramp walking through the park they get to

  • some wet concrete and end up stamping their paws in the middle of a heart well

  • outside the restaurant in front of the veranda you'll find a reference to the

  • scene in the film stamped into the red pavement are the paw prints of lady and

  • Tramp in the middle of a heart with an arrow through it just like the movie but

  • you might need to move a stroller or two to find it since stroller parking is

  • right over top of it usually it's rare to see this area without strollers so it

  • is very easy to miss and I personally stumbled upon this by accident one day

  • not too long ago and that's after visiting Magic Kingdom dozens and dozens

  • of times so next time you're around the area be on the lookout for the paw

  • prints in the red pavement number five peanuts

  • the main attraction and Storybook Circus is Dumbo the flying elephant this is a

  • classic Disney ride which was an opening day attraction at Magic Kingdom in 1971

  • but found its new home and Storybook Circus in 2012

  • now like I said earlier no small detail goes unnoticed in a Disney theme park

  • they're steaming around every corner and everywhere you step in the 1941 feature

  • film Dumbo Timothy Maus can be seen eating peanuts

  • on the ground and then gives one to Dumbo as well as when I point out that

  • it's just a myth that elephants actually like peanuts

  • but since Dumble is a cartoon elephant he can eat whatever he wants now if you

  • look down at the pavement there's a lot of storytelling happening and among the

  • footprints of circus animals you'll also find peanuts around the

  • entrance of the Dumbo ride and a little secret between you and I those peanuts

  • are made of concrete they're not real peanuts apparently some

  • people think that they're actually real again this is another one of those

  • little small details that's easy to literally step over but references a fun

  • little moment of a classic Disney film number four a Royal mosaic Cinderella

  • Castle sits at the center of Magic Kingdom and one of the great parts of

  • this elegant structure is the fact that you're able to walk right through it

  • along the walls of the archway through the castle are 300 thousand pieces of

  • Italian glass fused with sterling silver and 14-karat gold making up five giant

  • mosaic murals that tell the story of Cinderella creating these mosaics took

  • designers 22 months to complete and when you're up close you see just how

  • intricate they actually are it takes you from the beginning of this classic

  • Disney film with Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters to Cinderella

  • talking to her fairy godmother the famous ball scene with Cinderella

  • running away Cinderella then trying on the glass slipper ending with her and

  • Prince Philip riding away happily ever after when you're going from scene to

  • scene also pay attention to the pillars in the archways each were sculpted to

  • include the mice and bird characters from Cinderella just keep in mind that

  • the walkway does close multiple times per day for Mickey's royal friendship

  • fair and the happily ever after fireworks show now there is another

  • little hidden nod to Cinderella's rags to riches story and it can be found just

  • outside the castle this fountain the copper statue has

  • Cinderella dressed in her rags but behind her you'll notice a crown now if

  • you crouch down to Cinderella's eye level the crown magically appears on the

  • top of her head crowning Cinderella as a Disney princess number three fee fie foe

  • fum the Sir Mickey's gift shop is located in Fantasyland

  • just behind Cinderella Castle and it's hard to miss the giant vine growing out

  • of the building's windows well actually that giant vine just happens to be the

  • Beanstalk from the Mickey and the Beanstalk featurette the entire gift

  • shop is actually based off two classic medieval themed Disney shorts the brave

  • little tailor and Mickey and the Beanstalk the window displays of this

  • shop reference the brave little tailor if you peek into this window at the

  • front of the shop you'll see Mickey's tailor room with a mannequin and a sign

  • that says out giant hunting back soon in the short Mickey is instructed by the

  • king to go out and find the Giant now this window on the side features a

  • poster that reads giant at large which is a direct nod to this sign seen at the

  • beginning of the film then once you enter the gift shop you're taken through

  • the story of Mickey and the Beanstalk you'll find Mickey standing on the

  • Beanstalk by where's the giant in Mickey in the Beanstalk there's a scene near

  • the end of the film where Willie the giant picks up the roof and peeks in

  • well if you take a look up at the roof you'll see Willie the giant peeking into

  • the shop unless you're actually aware he's there it's really easy to walk

  • right past him while you're just looking at the merchandise and this is why it's

  • always worth it to look up at a Disney theme park you never know what you're

  • missing number two Disney mermaids Peter Pan's flight was an opening day

  • attraction at Magic Kingdom in 1971 and was based off Peter Pan's flight at

  • Disneyland Disney is known for their classic dark rides but this one's unique

  • since you're suspended in the air as opposed to traveling on the ground

  • well after you pass the Lost Boys Camp scene you'll approach mermaid lagoon on

  • the right hand side this is based off the scene from the 1953 animated film

  • but if you look closely you'll notice a very familiar Disney Mermaid Ariel from

  • The Little Mermaid can be seen right in mermaid lagoon along the other mermaids

  • from Peter Pan according to Jim Hill media when the Little Mermaid film was

  • released in 1989 people began to speculate that one of the mermaids and

  • looked a lot like Ariel now I don't have images of what the original mermaid

  • looked like in the attraction but if I had to guess looking at the scene from

  • the movie it appears to be this mermaid here since she's the one holding the

  • shell and her hand is in a very similar position now if she had bright red hair

  • purple shells on her chest and a darker green tail this would really resemble

  • Ariel I mean maybe Ariel was actually based off this mermaid from Peter Pan

  • who knows so when Peter Pan's flight went through a refurb in the mid 90s the

  • story according to Jim Hill media is that cast members actually convinced

  • Imagineering to turn that particular mermaid into Ariel since guests kept

  • asking about it over all these years whether that's actually true or not

  • we'll never really know but what we do know is that there is no denying that

  • Ariel is hiding right in Peter Pan's flight at Magic Kingdom number one The

  • Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey's filler magic in Fantasyland has

  • been entertaining guests since 2003 in this unique 3d experience after the show

  • ends and Donald flies off the screen be sure to look behind you as you exit the

  • theatre

  • now once you've exited you'll find the fantasy fair gift shop on the right hand

  • side the decor of the shop ties into the Philharmonic attraction featuring

  • Donald's flying through multiple brass instruments with Mickey conducting on

  • the opposite side the upper portion of the walls feature various instruments

  • along with music notes on the curtains and music notes along the brownej well

  • these music notes on the staff along the brownej aren't random and actually make

  • up a very familiar Disney tune for anyone familiar with music on the bass

  • clef these notes would be a d followed by an E natural an f-sharp then a G a B

  • G B a G f-sharp and when you play those notes this is what you hear sound

  • familiar you might recognize that melody from

  • fantasmic but this piece of music above the merchandise shelves is actually the

  • Sorcerer's Apprentice from the 1940 animated film Fantasia it's a pretty

  • iconic tune which can be heard in Mickey's fill her magic and acts as a

  • perfect piece of decoration that references a classic Disney film in a

  • way you wouldn't expect so did you know about any of these head and Disney movie

  • references at the park and if you had to pick your favorite either from this list

  • or maybe one that wasn't mentioned what would it be
