  • guys, I have a confession to make.

  • Three days ago, I downloaded tic tac and I kind of really liked it.

  • Yeah, me.

  • So where do I begin with this?

  • Um, I am a 21 year old adult, which means that I am far too old to be as into tick talk as I am.

  • I downloaded it ironically, as everybody does.

  • But, oh ho, we all know how that's a trap.

  • I remember back in like, 2008 when I started saying L o L out loud ironically, and it was only like two days before I was saying L o l a the end of every sentence and it's pretty much the same thing with tic tac.

  • I had no idea that I had spent, like, four hours scrolling through tech talks until I, like, looked up from my phone at 2 a.m. The world of blur.

  • No sense of my own physical form, talks of replaying in my head over and over again.

  • Also, please ignore the fact that my bangs look like a five year old couple with Kraft scissors.

  • I cut them a little bit tipsy with hair scissors, which is essentially the same skill set.

  • So, uh, yeah, they're they're a little bit all over the place.

  • I definitely thought I would be the type of person who's like Tic Tac is the death of culture.

  • I only listen to podcasts hosted by 30 year old males talking about liberal ideals and a black and white films from the French New Wave without subtitles but no talk illegitimately like so much fun.

  • I just like, miss a time on the Internet where people were just like me man around vibe and having a good time with their friends.

  • The little dance is the cool makeup looks girls like me men about how they got broken hearted over some boy with the body of a spaghetti noodle.

  • Do you know how many times I cried over boys with spaghetti noodle bodies?

  • They're also so many girls who are just, like, really funny on tick talk.

  • So you heard it here first, kids, I'm a tic tac stand.

  • Anyways, one of the kind of communities, or like, aesthetics on tic tac is the e girl aesthetic.

  • And it's kind of like punk rock and Anna Mae and choke me.

  • Daddy porn had a love child and I un, ironically really loved this aesthetic.

  • I don't know exactly what it is, but I just like completely un ironically, want to turn myself into a girl.

  • Oh, my God.

  • I'm 21 years old and this is my job.

  • I think it would be really fun.

  • I really like the look so further.

  • D'oh, Let's do it.

  • So first up, I shall attempt you girl makeup, which is overall, characterized by this kind of chilly, frosty anime girl look with winged eyeliner and about 16 different layers of blush.

  • So I've already gone ahead and done my foundation and concealer as a base.

  • I'm breaking out a lot.

  • Recently, the coats I literally moved across the country, and this is my first video that I'm filming in New York.

  • And let me tell you, not knowing literally where I'm going to live or if I have an apartment has not been great for my skin.

  • Also not gonna lie.

  • I did finally cave and eat pizza for the first time in like, three years because it's New York, baby.

  • Whoo!

  • That's beat the dancer I've ever seen it.

  • So I don't think my skin is enjoying that either.

  • Well, it was kind of worth it.

  • Honestly, it was very worth it.

  • So I'm gonna start with a rouse.

  • The eagle eye brow seems to be kind of a straighter shape that tilts upwards rather than having like the tail that Archer's back down.

  • If that makes sense, I'm just gonna conceal the bottom here so that I can get a straighter Rob.

  • But I wrestle exactly.

  • Fucking quinto What school you mount?

  • There's nothing a spool he can't fix.

  • Right?

  • Okay, I'm gonna do the rest of my makeup and pray that these eyebrows make more sense.

  • So the trademark girl thing seems to be a shit ton of flush.

  • And I love this look, actually, I am no stranger Toe layering up like three different blush is on my face But I got myself some brighter pink blush than usual.

  • So I could really lay her up and get that kind of cartoonish look.

  • So all the tutorials I watch said to also place the blush very high on your cheeks and like, bring it to underneath your eye Why does it look so hot on them?

  • And it literally looks like I have pinkeye.

  • So while I spend about 30 minutes smashing blush into my face, I thought I could talk some more about kind of the tic tac phenomenon.

  • This whole range of new aesthetics that we found on the Internet is just super interesting.

  • And honestly, I think it's really exciting, because when I was growing up, there wasn't a huge range of ways that people actually dressed and express themselves like, yeah, you had some kind of edgy, punkish girls that were like, stripey shirts and converse.

  • And you had people who wore Abercrombie, and that was pretty much the entire range of fashion.

  • So I think it's really awesome that girls and guys are like, really going out there with their aesthetics.

  • I'm going in with a second blush.

  • Now, this is Norris Orgasm X.

  • I remember seeing like all the beauty euros do this growing up.

  • And this is why I'm not beauty Europe, because I'm intolerable.

  • Truly.

  • Oh, that is bright.

  • Scott Scott.

  • No.

  • What the fuck?

  • So much blush.

  • Okay, I'm gonna be blending this for awhile.

  • Recently, my friend Avery made a really great video reacting to thes like sexist tick talks where boys were preying on young girls in securities.

  • Or there was one of this, like a 30 year old dude reacting to a girl Tic Tac dancing.

  • And he was, like, So cringe E like, Where's her real talent?

  • And I think that this tendency to really easily make fun of young girls on ticked off points to this larger issue, which something I learned about film school, which is the fact that woman, and particularly teenage girls, do not hold cultural capital.

  • In our society, we live in society, but basically this is the idea that things that men generally like like sports action films, things just generally about male heroes are considered good taste are considered cool things toe like.

  • Whereas entertainment made for women like wrong calm, girly pop music, even fashion and makeup are generally considered superficial, not intelligent.

  • And I think it's important to ask, Why do we draw those distinctions?

  • Why is a guy who likes war movies not considered a basic bastard with a girl who likes Taylor Swift is a basic bitch?

  • Went in reality.

  • Both of those people are just liking things that are kind of in their assigned generals, and I definitely used to buy into that a lot more like when I was younger.

  • I would never admit to anybody that I like Taylor Swift or one direction, even though I secretly like listening to them in my bedroom because I didn't want to be associate it with the like, dumb, basic teenage girl stereotype.

  • And I felt the need to prove that I was hashtag not like other girls and that I could be a cool girl from by rejecting things that I genuinely kind of enjoyed like.

  • Imagine if we made fun of teenage boys for liking superheroes the same way that we made fun of young girls for liking twilight.

  • Teenage girl shouldn't be made fun of for enjoying teenage girl things.

  • Okay, I'm really gonna go ham on the nose.

  • Do I look like Rudolph?

  • He's a Christmas time again already.

  • My face.

  • It's so right.

  • I'm gonna go back with some concealer kind of around the edges here and, like, underneath my eyes to kids, little things.

  • This the poster for it three.

  • And I think that also ties in with toxic masculinity and the fact that we basically don't allow men to enjoy things that are feminine, went out like questioning their sexuality or their manliness.

  • So men feel like trapped in on Lee liking a very narrow range of things.

  • But it also ties into the idea that things that men like are automatically cool and acceptable for everybody.

  • Toe like let's do the eyes for my eyes.

  • I'm just gonna use this same blush which, sure as hell is pigmented enough to be an eye shadow.

  • Anyways, this ties into the whole tic tac phenomenon because I think that honestly, like a lot of men or the way that our culture raises men is to say that in order to assert your masculinity and your intelligence that you have to not only not participate in things that teenage girls like, but actively take them and actively shit on them.

  • Thio, assert your distance from it.

  • And okay, this is getting very serious for, like, a little video about talk apart.

  • That type of mentality in our culture and especially on the Internet, like has really affect young girls are so much more at risk of developing, like eating disorders, anxiety, depression, committing suicide because of things that people say about them on the Internet like that shit has real repercussions.

  • Anyways, that's like my P s A.

  • For today.

  • Like, seriously, the Internet needs to rethink the way that it treats teenage girls because, like, they're literally just humans like everybody else on top of the pink, as if there wasn't enough pink on my face.

  • I'm also gonna put this pink sparkly stuff for a little bit of extra dimension.

  • I swear, any beauty gurus watching release right now is like screaming at me.

  • I really am not great at makeup, but I'm having a good time.

  • Next up.

  • We got to do some eyeliner.

  • The tutorials I want settle.

  • Kind of like angling downwards.

  • So you look sad.

  • Just not a problem.

  • Exciting development.

  • I bought my first ever set of fake lashes.

  • I have literally never put on fake eyelashes in my life before.

  • How the fuck did you do it too?

  • And one pressure.

  • Honestly, I have been a little bit scared in the past to essentially put a small caterpillar on top of my eyeball.

  • But today we're facing our fears.

  • I think you waited.

  • I feel like I'm developing a Polaroid pro.

  • Wait.

  • These look kind of good if you like.

  • I have a whole nother head of hair.

  • I could just like Pettit.

  • It's like election Chilo also, can we talk about the fact that, like, I literally have nothing to do today after I filmed this video.

  • So I'm just gonna be sitting at home in the most extra A girl makeup.

  • Maybe I'll take photos to send to my exes who were, like, really into anime or something.

  • I just want to pet the next up.

  • Let's do a little bit of highlighter.

  • I'm gonna get that little button tip to the nose No bridge and are corny for my lives.

  • I bought literally the cheapest dark lipstick I could find, but I just stabbed it on the center of my lips and blended it out a little bit, so it would give me this kind of bitten look.

  • Question work.

  • Okay, My makeup is nearly complete, but to finish it up, I am gonna draw The little heart's underneath my eyes.

  • I know this is like the very stereotypical girl thing, and not all.

  • Actually, girls do this halftime girls.

  • I legitimately think it looks really cute and it gives me like Marina and the diamonds.

  • Vibes.

  • I'm so scared.

  • I'm gonna fuck this up and have to read you my entire face.

  • Does it?

  • Kind of looks like I'm one of those butterflies that has four eyes in orderto like deter predators.

  • Yes, but does it also look really, really cute?

  • Also?

  • Yes.

  • So this is the finish makeup.

  • Look, But your girl did not stop there.

  • Oh, no, no.

  • Hold on one second.

  • Oh, my God.

  • I have never felt like more of a weed.

  • I literally went to a big store yesterday, and I tried on, like, four different wigs.

  • And at first I was gonna go for, like, the classic pink one, which is more of the stereotypical eagle thing.

  • But I tried on this green one, and I thought it suited my skin tone a little bit better.

  • Why does this week make me want to laugh like a fucking anime girl like this?

  • I don't know why this sparks so much joy in the guys.

  • Okay?

  • I don't know.

  • Um but I think I look great.

  • I forgot to do with the young freckles.

  • So most girls have this thing called frank, which is like a specific face freckle product.
