a kill, before a giant male buffalo intervened to save his friend from certain death.

COMM: The hungry duo spent forty five minutes

stalking their prey in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.

COMM: But after bringing down the defenceless

buffalo, one lion left itself open to a surprise attack.

COMM: The astonishing moment was captured

by 52 year old Ian Matheson, and his sixteen year old son Oliver, during an early morning

safari.

COMM: Amazingly all of the animals walked

away from the encounter with no major injuries.
