Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is lesson 234, Today we are going to look at the difference between facilities and equipment. Yeah a lot of times students will ask what's
-
the difference between these two. It's a little confusing. So let's take a look at the
-
note here. Equipment, things that are used for a particular hobby, activity, job, etc.
-
including tools, clothes, machines, etc. Yeah. Clothes definitely uniforms are
-
always part of the equipment. Facilities are buildings, rooms, pieces of equipment, especially
-
ones that are firmly or permanently attached to walls or floors such as a
-
swimming pool, the gym, the workout room, etc. So the room itself is definitely
-
part of the facilities. Even when you go to a hotel sometimes you might ask well what types of
-
facilities do you have ? You're really asking if like they have a swimming pool ? Do
-
they have a workout room ? Do they have a sauna room ? Those were definitely part of
-
facilities. Okay. Let's continue. If you go to a Sports Center, the swimming pool is
-
part of the facilities, but people's swimwear, you know, their bathing suits
-
and goggles would be equipment definitely. If you play tennis, the tennis court is part of the facilities.
-
And the tennis rackets that you use and the balls are definitely equipment. If
-
you play baseball, the stadium, the whole stadium, the field,
-
the foul posts. Those big posts like you know what it goes down when you tell
-
it's a foul ball or in fair territory, the wall in the outfield, are parts of the
-
facilities. Of course the baseball gloves that the players wear. Anything
-
especially anything that players hold in their hands, will definitely be equipment. Anything that's
-
movable like that would definitely be equipment. Bats, uniforms again the
-
clothes, definitely equipment. Bases even those bases they don't leave them there permanently. They
-
need to take them out. I've sometimes seen them actually put them
-
in too, etc. are equipment. All that is equipment. All right. So again. I hope you got it. I
-
hope it's clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
