  • In the very South of Europe, between the olive groves and mountain ranges

  • of Andalusia lies the beautiful city of Malaga.

  • It's an alluring and historic city founded over 3000 years ago.

  • Here the sun shines 320 days a year and the climate is Mediterranean,

  • almost subtropical.\N\h

  • Gorgeous beaches stretch the length of the famous Costa del Sol.

  • Malaga itself has excellent beaches right in the city.

  • Right here in the beach area of Pedregalejo, just 2 blocks from the ocean,

  • is the Escuela Internacional de Español EF.

  • My name is Sofía and I'm the School Director at the EF school in Malaga.

  • As you can see behind my back, the school is in a great location.

  • The school is in the residential area of Pedregalejo,

  • only five minutes from the beach.\N\h

  • This is a small school, which is great for our students because it guarantees,

  • at every moment, an intimate and familiar atmosphere.

  • The student lounges and the garden are equipped with free Wi-Fi internet access.

  • In these areas, students can study or simply relax.

  • EF Malaga offers Spanish courses lasting from 2 weeks

  • up to a whole academic year.\N\h

  • In addition to general Spanish courses, there are special interest classes

  • such as business Spanish and preparation for the official DELE exams.

  • On all courses you study in small classes with

  • other students of the same level.\N\h

  • In our centre the students can choose among a wide range of options.

  • The most popular option is to study Spanish and Andalucian culture

  • because the students learn about art, history, music and traditions.

  • This helps them to get a better understanding of what's authentically Spanish.

  • The EF Malaga villa was previously a charming hotel

  • and we still have a student residence on the upper floor.

  • Here students live in a young and very international environment,

  • right above the school and only 5 minutes from the beach.

  • Many students choose to live with a local host family.

  • Normally the families are very open and very nice

  • and they cook typical dinners like gazpacho andaluz and paella

  • for the students.\N\h

  • Most of the houses are very near the school.

  • This means the students can walk to school,

  • and that's something they really like.\N\h

  • Let's take a walk through the centre of Malaga, full of historic monuments

  • such as the cathedral and the Roman Theatre.\N\h

  • There's also the birthplace of the famous Malaga painter Pablo Picasso,

  • and the new museum displaying his art.\N\h

  • The Alcazaba is an Arabic style fortress with incredible views of the city and the coastline.

  • Hello, my name is Juanma, I'm the Activities Coordinator at EF Malaga.

  • Every weekend we do different excursions in Spain

  • and in Andalusia.\N\h

  • For example we visit Cordoba with its mosque, Granada with the Alhambra fortress,

  • and Sevilla with the Giralda tower. We also visit Ronda with its bullring

  • and Marbella.\N\h

  • The Costa del Sol is famous for its beaches and watersports.

  • In the evening, the outdoor cafés fill up with people enjoying the evening scene.

  • There are bars and night clubs for all tastesincluding "tablaos" with flamenco!

  • The Andalusian poet Federico García Lorca said that

  • "translation ruins the spirit of language".\N\h

  • Through the Spanish language you will come to know the spirit of Andalusia.

  • You will be able to communicate more and more with people in their own language.

  • You will always remember your new friends from Spain

  • and the charm of Malaga, with its beaches, its music, and its people.

  • Welcome to EF!\N\h
