  • This is instant ramen.

  • You're all familiar and it usually comes with one of these.

  • Well, we're gonna step that ramen game up

  • and make a DIY soup-based broth.

  • (electronic, deep bass music)

  • You know where we got this idea from?

  • This guy right here.

  • Murilo.

  • Murilo was like I wanna do something

  • for better instant ramen and I said, "Murilo, I hear you."

  • You can do this too.

  • This is his idea coming to life.

  • I'm gonna fix your instant ramen, Murilo.

  • So this guy here, you don't get a lot of depth of flavor

  • and the thing about ramen,

  • it's not so much about the noodles

  • and it's not so much about the toppings,

  • it's about the broth.

  • I've seen other stuff where they were like pack a mason jar,

  • put miso paste in it, and all these fresh ingredients.

  • That's not transportable ramen.

  • You need to find a fridge.

  • You need to take care of things.

  • You're gonna have broken glass.

  • These are gonna be actual seasoning packets

  • that you can just dump in, stir, and eat.

  • This is powdered bone broth.

  • Now, we're gonna use this powdered bone

  • to get the depth and the richness

  • of an actual instant soup base for your ramen

  • because this has natural collagens in it,

  • which will help have a little bit of a thickening agent

  • so you're not eating super watery broth.

  • It's gonna have a little bit of viscosity

  • and that's gonna be the main fix there.

  • So we're gonna start, two tablespoons of your bone broth.

  • This is chicken. I'm going more of the soy route.

  • Kind of the show you route,

  • even though it's not authentic to show you ramen,

  • but we're gonna have a little bit more of a soy element.

  • so I'm using a chicken base in here.

  • And then I have soy sauce powder.

  • Let's do 1.5 teaspoons soy sauce base.

  • We're gonna do about 1/2 a teaspoon of garlic powder.

  • Ginger, let's do 1/4 teaspoon.

  • I'm gonna 3/4 of a teaspoon of Dashi powder,

  • which is kind of like another soup base.

  • And a pinch of dried chives and as easy as that,

  • just putting these in a bowl and mixing them together.

  • that's instant ramen

  • with better ingredients, better flavor.

  • This is gonna smoke this.

  • Now you wanna make this truly transportable?

  • This.

  • Now you've probably seen these lying around on the ground

  • in the neighborhood after a weekend.

  • Funnel.

  • (deep, upbeat music)

  • That is actual instant ramen. Let's cook it.

  • So I'm gonna take my base broth,

  • add it to your hot water base.

  • All that's in one pot now.

  • There's a real chicken smell in there.

  • I can smell the soy, I can smell the ginger,

  • I can smell the garlic.

  • It actually smells like broth.

  • You know how these packets have that distinct smell

  • and when you eat it, it has this tingly thing?

  • This is weird to say, but this tingly thing on your teeth?

  • Well this is not gonna be that, right?

  • This is like using actual ingredients.

  • All right, you all know how this is done.

  • Goes in there, you cook it, boom.

  • College students, this is for you. Just like that.

  • By taking the ingredients

  • that are on those packets that are this long

  • and is like 20 things you can't pronounce,

  • just being like I'm gonna pull out the highlights,

  • natural ingredients by these bone broths.

  • Garlic, soy, ginger. That's what we're doing.

  • Oh, that's really hot.

  • That's really hot.

  • You can do this.

  • (deep, upbeat music)

  • For more questionable powders in bags

  • that are actually for food use, click here.

  • Take the top of a mint

  • and I'm gonna put it just like that.

  • So here you go.

  • This is Nutella noodles with strawberry sauce

  • and coconut as parm.

This is instant ramen.
