  • Captain's log:

  • I've completed the transaction

  • I think my wife will be less upset with this than what we originally suggested

  • But I still don't think she's going to like it. Grippity grapes (x2), grapes-grape-grape-grape-grapes

  • I'm definitely not cool enough for this-

  • That kid was just crying and you know why cuz he ain't got no grapes. Who's got some grapes?

  • I got some grapes - you got grapes? Yeah, you might, but not these kind of grapes!

  • Are you ready? You ready for this? Are you ready for what's about to happen. Alright. Today we are doing

  • SUPER EXPENSIVE GRAPES

  • I have some bad news for you, so the $200 grapes were actually sold out.

  • O.O

  • Aha, which makes no sense- continue. So I had to get the 400

  • NO! You're joking there are not $400 grapes. You're joking we could have gone to a hotel with this money. Are you serious?

  • I didn't wanna.

  • Nah I'm joking girl then they're not $400, they're only 150 see they're totally cheap

  • They're only a hundred fifty.

  • Did you say that to make me feel better?

  • Then I'm like, oh it's only $150!

  • See, they're only $150 grapes!

  • That's not bad, right?

  • Noone's thinking that. Noone's thinking that. (It's totally fine)

  • These are cheap grapes! What are you lying to me right now?

  • These are the poor man's grapes!

  • No honestly these are $150 grapes.

  • I really honestly thought that you paid for $400 dollar grapes

  • Yeah, then I was like see ya!

  • I actually think that the grapes are $200 before because they weren't in season

  • But now that we are at the peak of grape season

  • They like got them back to like the normal price of $150 is how much these were.

  • NUTS! NUTS DO YOU HEAR ME!

  • Can I just tell you something hilarious that wound up happening when you pay for these you don't actually pay for these at the cashier

  • You pay for these in a little like gift food section.

  • Kind of like when you buy flowers in North America in a grocery store

  • Yeah, exactly, just like that

  • So the guy was wrapping this up, and then another girl was like ringing it up, and then she put down

  • 1,500 yen

  • And then like she came over to me with a plate, I'm like AW SHIT YEAH

  • And then the guy wound up saying no, it's actually

  • 15,000 yen, and she's like really. I'm like oh no

  • 1,500 is okay! You go into your Korean bartering-

  • They all had a great laugh.

  • But I didn't get these at a discount. You know what's funny even though like she thought those are

  • 1,500 yen grapes, our cheap default grape that we have here is

  • $16 grapes, these are the

  • cheapest white grapes that we could get- [RECORD SCRATCH] there are definitely cheaper grapes like this in Japan sure

  • The cheaper variety of grapes nearby are expensive.

  • Yeah, if you come to Japan. It's not $16 for grapes. It was like at least

  • 7 to 8 bucks for a bunch

  • Of course but like at the store like the only white grapes that they had they'll be comparable so we could

  • Actually do like a legitimate taste test.

  • Did they have purple grapes? They had lots of purple grapes as well

  • Were they expensive?

  • Yeah, they were like seven bucks, eight bucks or so

  • M: And it wouldn't be fair to do purple versus- S: Yeah it wouldn't be fair so we're doing white to white.

  • [Music]

  • This is so heavy my forearms are working really hard girl. How do you workout? You know?

  • TWIRL SOME GRAPES

  • M: Can I hold this? S: Yeah there you go M: Whoa!

  • S: Isn't that the heaviest bunch of grapes. M: This is some heavy! S: I mean

  • S: Compare those grapes to these grapes you see the difference here. M: Yep, these are even big grapes

  • Yeah, these are big grapes S: But those are huge grapes there.

  • M: This is like this has got to be those hybrid things again

  • That's why these are probably so expensive. It's not, like, normal. S: This thing right here is

  • $150 so let's see how they taste!

  • Let's do a regular grape first

  • I like how we're spending so long with these macro shots because we're avoiding the inevitable of like having to eat these

  • Hey listen, this is our one chance to get these before I tearfully cry eating these grapes

  • Because no matter how you

  • Like how good this is I don't think it'll ever be worth 150 bucks.

  • Time to try the $16 grapes.

  • M: Are you cutting your grape in half fine sir? *In british accent* S: I'm gonna cut mine in half so we could just see also

  • Aww it's got SEEDS

  • I ain't spend $16 for seeds!

  • I'm really good at biting the grape and then moving my tongue around and then putting the seeds out.

  • So when it comes to like seeds you spit and swallow?

  • How did we come to this point again?

  • What I was just asking you what you do with your grape seeds!

  • Here we go. I'm going to try the $16 grapes. You ready? Okay

  • Yep, that's grape. It's grape-y.

  • There's a lot of seeds in here :(

  • That's why you got to cut yours in half!

  • That was not a 16 dollar purchase

  • That was like a $4 or less

  • That was like a

  • Default grape that I'm used to because like back when we compared the, like, the two melons the cheap Melon was still a really good melon

  • This is a lot more than that melon and ain't nowhere as good. Time to get...

  • Pick one out

  • Is this a grape or an olive?

  • S: This is massive! M: Do you see these-

  • Here's a cheap grape, here's an expensive grape look how much more vibrant look how-

  • It feels like a plum

  • It's not giving that kind of like, grape-y feeling

  • The cheap grapes are so dull.

  • It's- stop calling them cheap!

  • Okay, the default grapes are so dull! The other grapes are so dull.

  • I'm going to cut this in half to see how this looks in the middle

  • Oh this, like, you've gotta saw it a lot more also.

  • No seeds? No seeds. You know why they don't want you breeding their precious-!

  • They don't want you breeding their grapes.

  • Oh okay. Are you ready? This is going to be really good M: This looks pretty great

  • I'm going straight for the whole thing. Let's go all right

  • whoa, whoa

  • Am I eating a grape or a glass of wine?

  • That's like an apple, the texture, but it still has like a grape texture to it hang on

  • I need to try another. That was nuts!

  • That was an unbelievable grape these don't taste like the fruits you're used to it's very sweet

  • But it's not the sweet of a grape it is

  • totally green apple candy

  • 'Cause like before the melon tasted, like the expensive Melon, tasted like Melon plus honey

  • But this tastes like grape plus like a green apple. M: You know when you'll have green apple Candy

  • That's what this tastes like S: I gotta tell you these grapes are better than that Melon.actually

  • I've never actually had anything like this

  • Would you spend another $150 on this ever again? NOPE

  • But it is really a unique experience. This is eye opening

  • And I gotta say also, like, I understand... what? M: It tastes a bit like lychee as well. Yes!

  • Yes! Yes! That's what it is

  • Yeah try the default grapes now

  • M: Am I gonna be even sadder than before? S: Yeah, you are gonna be sadder

  • These taste so much worse now these taste almost like bad in comparison now

  • Oh, yeah, it's good that we had those first. Yeah, they actually taste sour now before that

  • They didn't taste sour they just tasted like normal grapes, now

  • They taste like not good at all and you see how when I bite into this

  • mmm

  • It's not like a normal grape yeah like you could bite it with your teeth

  • right whoa

  • Holy smokes

  • I feel like now we have to test all of the expensive fruits

  • No, because these are whole new

  • experiences like people need to know that like grapes are grapes, but these grapes are something different

  • I just saw some $90 peaches.

  • You did not?!?

  • I did!

  • *bawling*

  • I literally saw some $90 peaches like don't you want to know what that tastes like

  • Oh My God, 'cause this is like grape and green apple

  • Yes, the melons are like Melon and honey. What if that peach is like peach and watermelon combined

  • Do you really want to deprive yourself of that experience? Do you really want to deprive the audience of that experience?

  • Yep!

  • Imma stick to my $1 onigiri. Oh my God

  • I will say another thing that the textures this kind of reminds me of aloe vera mmM when you have like an aloe vera

  • I think you guys have those Aloe Vera drinks that have like those chunks of aloe

  • Vera floating around in it this kind of reminds me of that texture

  • So when you bite into it it has that kind of like firm

  • But there's no seed so there's nothing that you hit along the way

  • Lychee and Aloe Vera have that feeling to them seriously

  • This is an experience that not a lot of people have in order to like eat grapes like this

  • you could go to a fancy

  • restaurant or you could have the grapes of a lifetime, Oh My God!

  • But you know what I would pick... a fancy restaurant any day yeah, I want that full course meal

  • I want the gourmet experience. I want some Akita beef, I would like to have some wine, I would like to have some scallops

  • I would like to have some delicious rice

  • I would not like to have an entire bushel of grapes that if we keep eating we will get diarrhea

  • I gotta say also like I'm kind of upset now after eating these grapes because trying to eat these regular grapes

  • I was totally okay with the regular grapes before, but now I'm like oh my God

  • What is this swill, this peasant food?

  • If I hadn't tried these grapes these would have been amazing grapes the thing is it's only context

  • Exactly. So you know with wine pairing where you have a glass of white wine

  • And you try a tomato slice and then you take a sip of the wine and you try

  • with this chocolate and when you do that the wine changes in your mouth

  • It tastes different like coffee the same thing as well with this procedure

  • What we need to do is never try these grapes ever again

  • Oh my God

  • Just go back to the "normal grapes" and the normal grapes are going to be fine again

  • Yeah in comparison between these two. It's a terrible idea. I wonder what else you can do with these grapes instead of just eating, like, grapes

  • Welcome back to Martina's Midnight Munchies, tonight I will be making a deconstructed

  • Peanut butter Sandwich, it's deconstructed because instead of jelly

  • I will be using the world most expensive grape to act in place of the jelly and it's also

  • deconstructed because our full budget to make anything for the rest of the month is deconstructed because this grape is so expensive

  • Anywho what you're going to need is a tiny jar of peanut butter

  • And you're also gonna need to go to the store, go ahead and pick up the smallest loaf of bread you can possibly find

  • Let's get started first

  • You're going to need to unwrap your bread and cut yourself some thin slices of toast that will be perfect size for your grape

  • Next up go ahead and pick a grape off the stem

  • Just one, and we're going to slice it as thinly as we possibly can we're looking for around three to four

  • wafer thin slices of grape

  • We have half a grape left over which is around three dollars or so,

  • Oh

  • All right, man. :|

  • OH GOD

  • So good! So good grapes!

  • I should have cut- so there's two right. I should have made more grape cuts.

  • You're just making one sandwich right now.

  • So am I eating the sandwich?

  • S: I'm eating the sandwich M: I'm not sharing the sandwich with you. So I should have made two sandwichs

  • Oh uh...

  • I mean...

  • M: I'm the chef, So S: Because the part of these videos is really crucial M: true true (S:I eat the sandwich)

  • M: I'm just gonna eat the sandwich

  • M: I hear you x2 Alright x3

  • Uh-huh. I'm still eating the sandwich. :) Gently spread the peanut butter onto the bread, making sure you coat all areas of it

  • Just like that, and if you're using smooth peanut butter go ahead and throw that out

  • You should be ashamed with yourself gently place the layers of thinly sliced jelly

  • Two might actually be perfect.

  • S: Let's be wild and go for three

  • M: Should we be wild and go for three?

  • S: Let's just be *wild* and go for three.

  • I'm going for a third slice

  • And we're going to just serve that up like this

  • Think it'll be real nice with just a nice cup of coffee on the side and there you go

  • deconstructed peanut butter

  • sandwich it took like ten seconds to make and it probably costs around three to four dollars

  • Maybe more than that, Simon how much do you really think this sandwich costs?

  • S: If those are $150 grapes (M: yep), and we got maybe 40 grapes there M: you can actually count

  • There's four bunches per thingy let's count together

  • *Unidentifiable language*

  • *dancing time*

  • M: That's genuinely good S: Is it actually?

  • M: Mmmmmmm C'est bon!

  • Très bien! I've made a masterpiece by myself and didn't share with Simon cuz he ate all my smores :'(

  • And he ate all the watermelon sliced ice cream

  • *more dancing time*

  • And then the tree goes here, and I have a really tiny little

  • Hello kitty dessert, and I put diamonds I broke from one of my earrings (It's not real diamonds)

  • Put that there

  • And then, I have

  • My cake I can't forget about

  • The macarons and the donuts

  • And then over here, you see Meemers

  • This is his sushi plate cuz he has that "itis" from eating too much sushi

  • There you go buddy^^

  • And then my squirrel fell over

  • (My squirrel's eating a lunchbox)

  • (I took this coffee from someone)

  • (Who'd I take the coffee from?)

  • (GASP I know!)

  • (I took the coffee from my coffee corner)

  • (There we go, okay, this is my coffee corner)

  • (Cuz my mug, that's my coffee, up here)

  • I think it is officially clear that my wife has lost her shit. I don't know how to...

  • (And this is my co(?)-)

  • ♪♫*•♪
