Happy Chinese New Year! Xīn nián kuài lè!
-
Seraph here reporting from Chinatown!
-
This is a place where every local will head to to prepare for their Chinese New Year decorations, or just simply soak in the festive atmosphere here!
-
And, of course, you can definitely find the most authentic local Lunar New Year goodies here!
-
So, what are you waiting for?
-
[The Wishing Tree]
-
I think this Wishing Tree event is super meaningful because I not only got to write a wish for my loved ones, but also I get to donate $2 to charity as well!
-
[The Bazaar]
-
See? This is a rat plushie.
-
So you can see there're actually a lot of rat motives all around Chinatown.
-
Well that is because this is the year of the Rat.
-
Ta-da ta-da! See all the rat symbols.
-
This is bird's nest jelly.
-
And it's kind of mixed with fruit, so it's fruit bird's nest jelly, and this is the grape flavour.
-
Suck the jelly with all your mouth.
-
That's a lot!
-
Xiè xie!(Thank you!)
-
Pineapple tart!
-
[The Lights]
-
Look at these street lanterns!
-
Aren't they exquisite?
-
Don't you wanna own one?
-
Well, now you can!
-
From the period of 3rd to 17th February, you can actually apply to adopt one or more of these lanterns.
-
Actually I think it's a really really great green initiative because the beautiful decorations don't just end up in the trash after a festive event.
-
[The Stage]
-
