they're now coming it's not like in the videos where you sing and they come running
-
maybe they don't like my song oh my gosh they're running away if anything
-
so yeah we are currently driving to villa alpina argentina it's 18 kilometers off the paved road
-
we've been driving for a while we're not quite sure how close we are because the dirt roads
-
force you to go a lot slower but yeah we just keep stopping along the road wherever there's a nice
-
lookout wherever we encounter cows and horses and yeah i think we're at least halfway there
-
do
-
well hello hello guys and welcome to villa alpina the name it means alpine village yeah
-
quite accurate i used to say we had to drive 18 kilometers on dirt roads to get here so yeah
-
quite isolated it's not too far from where we're staying in terms of kilometers but uh the road it
-
took a long time yeah you gotta take it easy yeah probably close to 40 minutes just like winding
-
through the mountains yeah but it looks like a beautiful quiet little village exactly a small a
-
small population but a beautiful setting fantastic place to go hiking to just wander around the town
-
to experience uh you know farm animals too i mean there's horses there's houses there's cows there's
-
mules i think i've seen some sheep as well goats goats i should say yeah and so it's uh it's just
-
a fantastic place to be visiting especially if you like kind of like tranquil destinations with a lot
-
of nature and yeah we can't wait to explore the little town and also maybe to do a little hike and
-
we should also talk about what we did yesterday we did a little bit of filming yeah just a little
-
bit yesterday was mostly about errands but aside from that we also visited the town of los reyes
-
where there is a river that runs through the town and it was the perfect place to visit yesterday
-
because it was so hot the most refreshing place to just dip your feet in we just rolled up our pants
-
kicked off our shoes thank you considering this is just the start of spring the the
-
temperature of the river was reasonable like you could actually you could go swimming and
-
in the summer you would definitely go swimming to cool off yeah and so yeah we've got a beautiful
-
day there's not going to be any rain it's just a little bit of cloud lots of sun and we plan
-
to you know check this place out and also hope we hope to visit some other spots nearby as well
-
so
-
um
-
so this town is more of a place that you come to experience it doesn't have tourist attractions per
-
se but one of them is hiking to el champaqui which is a six to eight hour hike we actually saw quite
-
a few vans a drive into town and like unload a bunch of hikers and then they're gonna make
-
their way up the mountain so that's one thing that you can do here and then there's also a river that
-
runs through the town so right now we're walking down to the river because we feel like we need to
-
cool down just a little bit so it's all downhill which has been relatively easy but on the way back
-
i have a feeling it's gonna be a bit harder it's all steep in the sun
-
well guys i can tell you that my hiking boots are waterproof i don't feel the water on my socks or
-
toes good purchase yeah mine are not okay mine are sandals and you're you're yours are perfect
-
for this but definitely not waterproof my feet are waterproof that's good enough for me flippers so
-
sam what have you learned about this town what can you tell us well i can tell you a few different
-
things firstly locals are extremely friendly we've had about two or three conversations well
-
you and your dad have with locals in spanish and um i'm ready to tell you the grand total
-
of the sprawling metropolis are you ready for it i'm ready for it three zero thirty people
-
it's incredible for anyone who likes nature peace
-
tranquility and a little bit of elbow room from your neighbors yeah you can't beat villa
-
alpina argentina and there's a lot to do here so you take this little serpentine path and
-
you come down to the river and there's also a little footbridge you can walk across too so
-
so far and the impressions of this little town have been extremely favorable i mean
-
to visit it on a nice beautiful day like this has been you know nothing short of ideal and um
-
yeah man like what uh what a little hidden gem out here in the sierras of cordoba argentina for sure
-
so
-
do
-
hello guys lunchtime finally it is lunch time past three o'clock 3 30 3 30.
-
this is a new record for me not feeding audrey till three we had a long day in villa alpina a
-
really nice town but they don't really have any restaurants like it's so small
-
30 inhabitants it's not set up for lots of tourism like most of the people who go there
-
are hiking serochampaqui which is the highest peak in the province of cordoba argentina yeah
-
but people typically go you know prepared they've got all their gear their meals their tent yeah
-
that little area is very peaceful beautiful just a few locals and uh sheep goats like that so now
-
we're sitting down at a nice german german themed restaurant here yeah it's called belgrano rojo
-
the red deer we've been here once before many years yeah well three four years ago i think we
-
took my parents here yeah maybe yeah and we're gonna have lunch we are so hungry we're waiting
-
for the food to show up and we'll show you that in a minute this restaurant have been operating
-
here for the past 60 or 70 years i remember when i was a child and we used to come summertime over
-
here the restaurant was one of the first ones in the town it's a very very uh old landmark here
-
lunchtime food is here i went for a classic i got the knuck burst which is a thick sausage
-
i guess that name because they say that when you bite into it or you cut into it it sounds like
-
knuck because the skin is so thick so yeah it has like a crunch to it
-
yeah as my side i got the chukuru yeah which is basically like sour cream it's a fermented cabbage
-
with little bits of bacon and ham it's just a classic german dish how are you enjoying the
-
goulash it's really good yeah yeah nice and hearty nice and fresh and hearty and uh hand rolled
-
noodles handmade the rolled noodles yeah a little cheese is a garlic parmesan on top beautiful dish
-
nice and hearty and i mean for us to go this long without lunch unfortunately that's unheard of
-
we're eating since breakfast this morning yeah yeah four o'clock we only we have breakfast at
-
like uh nine o'clock yep so we were hungry today yeah i got the exact same thing as daniel we're
-
both going for the goulash let me show that to you guys look at that hearty cubes of meat
-
and a nice gravy and i ordered a beer i got a uh this was truth be told this is the cheapest beer
-
on the menu is gross that's a nice beer premium lager as they say too hot pairs perfectly with
-
this you know this meal reminds me of when we were traveling in in the czech republic we would have
-
our we would have our goulash and we would have our you know pilsner nice big beer with it hello
-

-

-

-

-
we'll show you a little bit of our bite but overall what what a great day we we packed
-

-

-

-
