  • Where do you think it went most wrong tonight?

  • Um, e from the start, we have good energy.

  • Good intentions, obviously knowing how good.

  • Uh, Brooklyn is across the board, all the playmakers where Katie and Carrie came out the gate.

  • But I think we got a little frustrated with our shots not falling in the first quarter.

  • Yes, good looks, Um, And you missed a bunch of them, and it kind of deflated us a little bit.

  • And that, in turn, took our edge off from the defensive end against a team like that.

  • They're gonna expose you if you don't reply any pressure, be physical or come with any type of edge on that on that end of the floor on, and you look up six minutes left your down double digits.

  • You knew there's gonna be a tough task if you let him get off to a good start like that.

  • And the rest is history deaf.

  • What was it like for you to go up against K d again?

  • Awful.

  • Got a bus beat across the board.

  • So, uh, one game you figure it out, but don't wanna put too much on this one.

  • Um, you know we're still figuring you know, each other out.

  • It was Katie out there way he looked.

  • He looked like, you know, all the way healthy, confident his body.

  • So it's good to see, obviously from a health fair point that that means a lot, Yeah, to come off an injury like that stuff.

  • What is your mentality when things are not going well for you?

  • How you maintain focus in these type of games?

  • It is pretty easy, just in terms of his one or 72.

  • But we, you know, obviously have to do something about our performance next game coming out, learning from tonight, hopefully getting off to a better start so that we can build some type of mo mentum, especially on the road.

  • Even even without fans, it's still a tough task.

  • Thio amount to come back like that.

  • So you have Thio start the games better.

  • Um, body language and just everybody stay immensely committed.

  • Has to be there.

  • Come in tomorrow.

  • Watch the film.

  • Do what Every team that gets, uh, beat like that does and find a way toe respond.

  • We've got a test.

  • Our resiliency right out the gate.

  • That's what did you think of Wiseman's debut?

  • And were you shocked to see how aggressive he was?

  • Even though it was it was a debut.

  • I wasn't shocked to see that He showed that in practice and in our scrimmages, very confident in what he can do.

  • So it was good to see him.

  • Just get a feet wet, get some reps in on.

  • Obviously, in the fourth quarter, he showed a little bit of a skill set where you could do inside and out.

  • So, um, just getting him, hopefully as comfortable as possible, a squid as possible.

  • Um, you know, 24 good minutes to start his career knows about Big step for him individually.

  • Stuff in your mind what's going to be key to getting back to that team that's feasting in transition and ration it up to tempo the way you want Thio.

  • You got to get stops Eventually, especially teams like this just kind of deflating, taking the ball in the basket and every possession.

  • Um, you know that Z something that we talked about in preseason way showed a little bit through those three games that defensively, when we're flying around, were aggressive using our length and speed and athleticism that we could turn it into easy offense tonight.

  • That's all they did was just come down very comfortable getting to the spots, making, you know, tough shots, open shots, second chance points, pretty much everything.

  • Um, it's hard to really build any type of offensive momentum.

  • You're not impacting the game on the other half caste in half.

  • And Coach Carr said that, um, there's guys like a team that it practiced for just two weeks.

  • How much are you putting this before?

  • On the lack of time you guys have spent together so far, that's a part of it.

  • But I think for us these last five years, I'll take last year out of it.

  • We've had high expectations coming out of the gate every year in terms of understanding our identity and understanding how we're gonna be successful.

  • And there's a confidence in that for sure.

  • Um, you know, this year is different.

  • We thought about we're going to get better every year.

  • I mean, every game every week, and that's something we can expect.

  • Um, now again, we have to test our resiliency in terms of getting well placed in the mouth.

  • How do we respond?

  • You know, um, Christmas Day game against Milwaukee.

  • Obviously another great Eastern Conference team with a lot of talent.

  • Way got to bring some edge of competitiveness and continue taking strides on Lee.

  • Onley will be able t judge.

  • What?

  • That What that looks like Win or lose his staff.

  • Thailand with Cron.

  • Four news.

  • You guys definitely looked like a times tonight.

  • You weren't on the same page as a leader of this team.

  • How do you try to build the team chemistry moving forward when you've got several pieces?

  • James Wiseman, Kelly, you Bray Wiggins you haven't played with when?

  • It's just a group that has not played together before.

  • You gotta be communicating every second of the practice the game locker room.

  • Continue to talk to game out, build confidence in chemistry.

  • I mean, uh, you know, considering I got beat by 30.

  • Locker room was pretty upbeat in terms of understand, it's a long journey on, you know, everybody has thio stay engaged.

  • So from the coaches to the players, it's just about communication being truthful about where we Yeah, you didn't show any effort or execution on certain possessions and and you'll call those things out, hold ourselves accountable and just continue to get better.

  • So everybody has to stay locked in.

  • They stuff called dancing moment.

  • Go ahead.

  • Go ahead.

  • Hey, Steph called Ransom from S f ist not gonna lie.

  • I was half waiting to see if you were gonna pull from the logo on your first possession like you and Damon talked about.

  • But all joking aside with the way that you make shots and warm up small over the floor, is there a line place that you and Coach Curve talked about?

  • Remarked where your green light ends?

  • Or is it just Maura An unspoken trust in your decision making.

  • That's all on me, this shooting shots that I think I could make.

  • Wow, that's pretty much what I do all the time.

  • So I shoot it because I think I could make it.

  • Yeah.

  • Steph, you seem like wherever you drove, they had a concentrated group of black jerseys wait for you.

  • Did that you had.

  • You hadn't played against that in a long time.

  • Did that feel normal?

  • It feel like same old defense.

  • Same old defense type of styles.

  • And do you think you'll need to be a little bit more aggressive earlier on while your team gets the rhythm.

  • Offensively.

  • Um, I watched the film and figured out it did feel like that, but I think more so.

  • I know I could get shots off pick and rolls.

  • You know, sometimes the double is a little bit more aggressive.

  • I could get it, give it up.

  • But I think a majority of my shots where when I was the primary ball handler, which is you know, is fun and I got a balance.

  • You know, those type opportunities and be aggressive.

  • But I think we gotta work on just when I give the ball up in.

  • The team is trying to play, you know, high side aggressive, making sure I don't get it back, that we continue to create good offense off of those possessions and that's where we can kind of continue to build our chemistry.

  • That's why I gotta be patient on Um, yeah, let's see the floor a little better when I don't have the ball in my hands, so we'll get better at that.

  • You know, I think I said it before the season.

  • Every every game will expose a little something about what I need to do differently or better and what our team needs to do.

  • Different and better.

  • We'll make the adjustments, Stephan.

  • You know, uh, Andrews reputation.

  • And tonight he had a rough start to his season.

  • What do you guys need from him?

  • T get where you want to get to stay aggressive.

  • I mean, you could look at the stat line.

  • It's not great, but in terms of, uh, you know, his confidence and aggressiveness when he has the ball in his hands, he's got to create shots for himself and shots for others.

  • And I really don't care what you know.

  • It looks like any other day because he'll continue to get more comfortable in that position.

  • Kelly the same way.

  • So, um, that's what we were talking about on the bench tonight.

  • You know, stay aggressive.

  • Don't Don't worry about your shooting percentage.

  • Don't worry about stats.

  • Just keep playing and keep seeing the game.

  • Keep being aggressive.

  • And that's how we build confidence and and, uh, get better from game to game.

  • So, uh, we've all had bad shooting nights on just so happening, You know, we're a big spotlight.

  • You know, starting out the season, um, Friday will be, uh, kind of the same thing.

  • What do you think of your initial work with Wiseman in the high screen game?

  • I thought a solid that I got a pretty good shots in the first half.

  • Um, I think well, continue to get better without timing and understanding angles and all that type of stuff.

  • But he's a presence.

  • And I think he showed exactly how you can open up the floor for me in the middle of in the middle of pick and rolls on put pressure on the rim.

  • And oh, you know, I think a lot of it was kind of having to make a decision in the paint.

  • You know, that mid range type of situation.

  • Those were pretty good shots that probably should take.

  • And And then, you know, sometimes they have opened up, you know, his his lob threats and stuff like that.

  • So, uh, we'll continue to get better at those those reps and, uh, make the right place.

  • Did you just say you should take the mid range?

  • I should take what the defense is giving me, and sometimes that is the mid range, and I've heard there's a pretty good research on my status in the mid range game, so I'll continue to get better at it.

  • Just seen it be ready.

  • So thanks, everybody.
