  • So you've probably heard about cold calling.

  • Everybody's talking about it.

  • So what is cold calling?

  • Well, essentially, it's going to an employer that you haven't necessarily met with and introducing yourself, which is where the letter of introduction comes in.

  • So this is a simple letter that you put together that explains who you are.

  • Why you'd like to work there?

  • What are you bringing to the table for that employer and a little bit about yourself?

  • This allows the employer to remember who you are, because ideally, they want to think of you the next time a job becomes open.

  • So you might take this letter in and drop it off.

  • Or you may even phone call and talk to the person that maybe the hiring manager and you can google and figure those things out as well.

  • So the key is, once you've got that letter of introduction done, ask a friend to look over it, you know, check the formatting, check the spelling.

  • Make sure you're right on target, because this is going to represent you when you walk away from that employer.

So you've probably heard about cold calling.
