It's really interesting to begin to look at the community around you and get an understanding of what's on offer. You can actually find out the population of the area you're living in. Just Google it or you can have a look at what the industries in my particular community perhaps says manufacturing, agriculture or health. Having an understanding of what's around you allows you to look at. Do I have the skill set to move into a job in my community? If not, you may have to look elsewhere for work, But knowing what's available will also allow you to know what you need to do in order to train up and get ready for that job. The other thing about where we live is sometimes we can have a negative view on where we live, so it actually can limit how we approach it. What I mean by that if you say there are no jobs where I live, well, actually there are jobs. It's just a matter of meeting people getting out there getting connected so that you can find the hidden jobs that are existing there. The other thing to remember is to stay focused on that. So rather than, say, there are no jobs say, Well, if the jobs air there, what do I need to do to be prepared and ready to get that job? As you look around your community and get even more connected to it, you're actually expanding your network, which is opening up job opportunities. So get out there and get connected so you can get the job you want.
