hi there it's Jennifer from Tarle speech with your two for Tuesday lesson
-
and today's words are past time that's gone by and passed to move beyond these
-
words are pronounced exactly the same way so to say these words correctly
-
we're going to start with the P sound p to do this put your lips together or let
-
them open and the air just puffs out p then we're going to move on to the
-
short ah sound to do this you're going to open your mouth in a wide circle the tip
-
of your tongue is going to be low in your mouth and the back is going to be
-
pulled up ah next we're going to move to the st sound this is actually two sounds I
-
wrote it as one so we can practice it together a lot of my students have
-
trouble with this so we're going to start with the ssss sound to do this the tip
-
of your tongue is behind your top front teeth it can be pointing down slightly
-
that's fine too the key here is it is not touching your
-
teeth and the air is going to be moving out of your mouth ssss then you are going to
-
quickly touch the teeth ssst and then pull it down for that T sound and then we'll put
-
it all together past past passed passed and let's try it in a sentence
-
we past our destination since we were so busy talking about our glorious past
-
give it a try I know people are going to notice the difference if you found this
