  • well hello hello guys our last full day here in mar del plata a beautiful sunny

  • for on our last day at least we get to enjoy it

  • but yeah we are really excited for today's food video because we are taking

  • you guys to a restaurant called in Palacio a little beef a palace of steak

  • you found this place I found this place it's one of the more highly rated places

  • in the city and it looks fantastic as really good reviews apparently to do

  • excellent Argentine steaks Mauritius so yeah we're gonna go check that oh and

  • I've brought my appetite for sure let's go so yeah on our way to the restaurant

  • and check out these Argentine elevators with sliding doors yeah

  • so right now we are walking along via tunas on Medellin

  • which is a pedestrian street it is always full of people it doesn't matter

  • the time of day but it gets even crazier at night yeah they have a lot of

  • performances here musicians people in drag

  • this is an area with a lot of different theatres so like people come out quite

  • elegantly dressed the population density is almost like somewhere in Hong Kong or

  • something seriously that's what we were comparing it to the other day

  • el Palacio prepare ooh this looks nice

  • all right we're at the restaurant the wine has arrived yes Cheers

  • hear me the bottle it was I was grabbing the bottle instead of the glass so guys

  • today wanna you want to show the wine that we're having today sure Sam's

  • selection we got a bra vo Malbec it's the bodega smell looks small don't

  • know how to pronounce yeah it's a Malbec from from Mendoza I had a little sip of

  • it and it's the sweetest Malbec I've ever tried what do you like it do you

  • like it I thought I kinda DQ it's it's very different from typical long already

  • good come to cheese Audrey we even have breadsticks

  • yeah but I'm more into the baguette sometimes you get cheese sometimes you

  • get butter today it's spreadable cheese themed cheese but as always we need to

  • try to reel it in with the bread we can enjoy the meat once it's here

  • because we got the full portion sneaking out like at stake

  • yeah kidding me win-win in Argentina you've got to indulge in the steak I

  • mean half portion moving in gracias Wow where's this crap

  • well here we go guys I ordered and be fitted Omo yeah which is the sirloin

  • steak my oh my oh my what are you doing to us first of all we need to talk about

  • the cut of the meat the thickness it's like an inch it's almost like two into

  • we asked for it nice and juicy a little bit pink that's how we like it we're not

  • just right for have a well-done steak Wow

  • delicious amazing I don't even know what to say it's like we don't even need to

  • me cheering like we could ask for some we don't need it but I still love it I

  • may ask for some just because I'm trying to cheer me to every time I look at the

  • juiciness I'm just gonna add a little bit of salt and honestly it's all about

  • the flavor of the meat cooked over a wood-burning fire has a smokiness to it

  • it's also the fact that cattle here I mean their own free-ranging their

  • grazing in the pampas they're eating a natural diet they're not being fed

  • anything artificial or anything like that and so you're just getting the

  • highest quality of product you really are and with this you can even order a

  • half portion yeah which would probably have been enough because we still have a

  • side that looks amazing but I mean this is not going to go to waste

  • I'm gonna eat the whole thing and if I can't delicious lunch

  • next up the side dish we ordered eggplant you Napolitan style

  • Neapolitan Neapolitan style yeah it's basically a breaded eggplant fried with

  • mozzarella cheese tomato sauce on top yeah it's kind of like it's like a melon

  • Eva but with the eggplant the instead of meat I can't wait we actually had a

  • really hard time choosing once again had Swiss chard and a creamy sauce all kinds

  • of potatoes and vegetables but we thought the meats gonna be big let's

  • just get one side so we can focus on the steaks and dessert later yeah and yeah I

  • want to see this restaurant has been such yeah also something about the

  • service has been fantastic so far they've been changing our plates they

  • brought us an entirely fresh set of bread the front of steak knives yeah

  • super attentive and the food is just phenomenal so far absolutely phenomenal

  • seriously by last year the guys come here and feast and then take a siesta

  • after turn tell us what did you order I'm having what's known locally as befit

  • archery so if you're from Canada or the US you would know this as a New York

  • steak fantastic cooking so far again a big thick piece not quite as thick as

  • yours but mine is is yours is larger is its massive I'm so about two pieces here

  • one on zone yeah and the second piece I'm gonna put

  • with some chimichurri I some curios uh salsa

  • okay let's try that how is that like sneak in other parts of the world this

  • doesn't really but I caught it when you compared to Argentina that this is so

  • juicy so flavorful cook just perfectly it's amazing I don't even know what else

  • to say like I'm I'm in awe of this speechless speechless so that first one

  • is the chimichurri yeah so I'm going to put chimichurri and I'm actually gonna

  • also put salsa Carrillo Joe this is gonna give it some extra flavor so

  • actually kick Wow so it's a nice touch with those with

  • those like with addition of those sauces but at the same time we don't need them

  • yeah we're just to have this flame totally fine totally delicious

  • those are the amazing guys my turn so I'm just gonna transport it over kind of

  • plate you can tell that it's loaded with mozzarella tomato sauce on top

  • oh my read it on the outside I'm not sure we're gonna eat dinner tonight oh

  • yeah I mean if you were a vegetarian and they wanted to know what Milanese the

  • kind of taste of life getting a great man that's um really it's like oh here

  • we go we've traded plates because I can't be missing out

  • on whatever it is Sam ordered actually it says me for the hoodie so New York

  • steak and I'm just gonna load it up with chimichurri because I haven't tried

  • either of the sauces sauce is enhancer for sure

  • I'm just having a wonderful time here I know

  • the wine is fantastic the mean is good the sides are good but you feel so

  • relaxed here chimichuri like Leo them we're only halfway through the

  • States I already feel like I need a nap well it's a good try dessert here

  • because they look like they have fabulous desserts

  • this is living the good life in Argentina for here desserts to share

  • dessert has arrived guys we ordered something called posturing meats though

  • it's basically you get cheese you get fake do you get pumpkin not the sweet

  • potato sweet sweet potato and you get pumpkin kind of drowned in a syrup yeah

  • honey like syrup and then we also ordered a portion of dulce de leche

  • which is like that it's the best thing you can have in Argentina it's a yeah

  • it's like a caramel sauce and it goes good on anything cookies ice cream

  • directly into your mouth

  • okay so let's start off with this so we got a piece of that and a piece of the

  • cheese mix it around in the syrup

  • so nice you have the sweet and salty kind of combination this is also called

  • a vigilante seal and I think it's when it's only due to the ricotta cheese okay

  • but we have a few more jump sweetie pinkie Rises it's like simple

  • ingredients with so tasty yeah oh wow yeah that's a sweet potato mm-hmm and

  • now on to the fig and it's just oozing out syrup here I think I'm gonna like

  • this one the most I love figs you know I hope I got that right the sweet potato

  • and the pumpkin they're both so sweet that it's kind of hard to tell I think I

  • got it right I'm pretty sure better than that is we could actually use some help

  • with our dessert so let's have some of them

  • that's like the back look we talked about directly from the spoon it's just

  • a okay you can put it on anything I think you can eat it off of someone's

  • toes and still enjoy no no I know we are I'm totally kidding I've never tried

  • that hope none if you have you there just a great man we'll talk about the

  • price in a minute yeah Cheers they brought us complimentary house

  • Nieman Fellow and I was reading about this restaurant

  • that had mentioned that sometimes you get a complimentary limoncello very it's

  • a fantastic way it's very strong sweet potent gives you a kick but yeah a nice

  • little surprise honestly after all the wine we've had I feel like I probably

  • don't need any more alcohol cause I'm already falling quickly the table you

  • get you're gonna have the best yesterday like this for you guys for the videos

  • because I normally do not eat this much meat or drink this much alcohol like it

  • knocks me out I'm ready for my first limoncello let's pay the bill we are

  • back on the terrace oh man oh my yes the who we conked out for a

  • bit I had a reasonable nap maybe like 20

  • minutes few hours a couple hours at least I'd

  • say all the food kill all that stinking wine and I think that was the knockout

  • blow along with the limoncello and yeah it was just phenomenal quality though I

  • think that's one of the best steak houses we've been to in all of Argentina

  • yeah do you say it was great I realized when we left the restaurant we didn't

  • really talk about the price so I've got the details on my phone now so you guys

  • can know how much we spent how much was it so it was seventeen hundred and

  • thirty five pesos yes how much was it us all well that would be 45 US dollars

  • that was a little bit on the splurge level for us yes expensive metals a

  • patented meal for us but let's talk about everything we got full bottle of

  • Malbec wine soda water two steaks two bread baskets

  • yes and we had right we had the one dessert with the portion of bolsa de

  • leche added and then complimentary limoncellos yeah when you think of what

  • we had for the price we paid nah it was pretty good yeah I would gladly do it

  • again there was food left over so yeah we

  • brought some more steak home steak and eggplant for dinner

  • so you've got that for dinner all in all it was wonderful right now

  • we're just enjoying the views we're gonna head out on the town later have a

  • walk around yeah we'll show you yes we'll show you

  • guys what the nightlife is like here in terms of the crowds and the

  • entertainment and so on I mean don't expect us to go clubbing or anything

  • that's not us but we'll show you the crowds that night go for a walk

  • maybe we'll have a little something sweet along the way maybe we'll see yeah

  • nightlife some people would be like yeah let's go to a bar or two Zuma beer

  • cocktails and I'm like well in all four and all fairness we we have gone out for

  • a glass of beer wine before but I think after consuming a whole bottle of wine

  • we don't anymore today so we'll say you will see you guys when

  • the Sun Goes Down grandpa grandma what are we doing grandpa all right guys now

  • we are on our way to the pedestrian street maybe to eat churros yeah it's

  • only 9:00 p.m. guys only 9:00 p.m. this is what we're like we like leave the

  • students take us yeah let's blame it on the wine blame it on the steak we're

  • here

  • it's not as lively as we expected well it's still a little early I think it

  • gets busier in an hour and it's also much busier on the weekends there yeah

  • that's true when it was nuts what was it a Saturday or Sunday today it's just a

  • weekday yeah but let's go for a stroll in Mar Del Plata
