  • S: We woke up at 5 A.M. today, yes—5 A.M. after going to sleep at 1 A.M.—

  • yes! 1 A.M., and today we are going with Suga and his friends

  • to Gifu!

  • It is now 6:40 A.M.

  • What am I doing awake this early?

  • Nobody knows!

  • This is illegal.

  • *groans*

  • The first stop we do in the morning is at a sake factory.

  • All of us have empty stomachs and we're trying five different kinds of sakes.

  • You might notice some...spit cups behind us but we don't play that way, alright?

  • Those are decorative.

  • When we drink our sake in the morning, we swallow it.

  • (Everyone in the line says kanpai: cheers in Japanese!)

  • So we are here at Gifu,

  • in the best Parma restaurant in Japan.

  • We just had prosciutto

  • you might have remembered from our Suga video

  • in which we had the prosciutto and it was amazing,

  • we're sitting here with the guy that makes it!

  • It's so good!

  • It's so good!

  • I need to go on these trips every month!

  • Why have I not come here every month?

  • S: It's amazing... M: 'Cuz wehave, like, pets to

  • S: Yes, 'cuz we—'cuz we have responsibilities. M: Yeah, all that.

  • M: This Parma is so good,

  • there's literally a fanclub of people watching

  • the Parma being sliced.

  • When was the last time you saw people

  • gathering around to look at meat being sliced?

  • This is some serious stuff, guys.

  • S: Let's see how it tastes.

  • M: Whoaaa, so soft!

  • S: This is yours? Parma man: Yes.

  • S: You're such a good guy.

  • Oh! *Parma man and Martina laugh*

  • S: This is really good!

  • [Sexy food porn music]

  • M: You wouldn't expect to come to Japan

  • for amazing Italian food,

  • but that meal was unbelievable!

  • Freshly made pasta right in front of our eyes,

  • and incredible Parma from a chef who trained in Italy

  • for over ten years,

  • what?!?!

  • No!

  • S: Is somebody doing opera here?

  • (opera)

  • *Applause* S: Woo-hoo!

  • M: And that's why you come to Japan!

  • What!!!

  • Na na na na na na na na~!

  • Guys.

  • It is so beautiful here.

  • The restaurant is resting

  • on a river bank, glass windows so you can see everything,

  • and we're gonna be eating sweet river fish

  • that the fishermen catch

  • fresh.

  • This is just an unreal experience;

  • the waterfall,

  • there's, like, a bamboo forest surrounding us,

  • wow! Gifu...wow!

  • S: So we're heading out tonight

  • for something really special.

  • It's really rare now in Japan,

  • while it used to be very calm,

  • and now we're doing some cormorant fishing.

  • Whichis a difficult concept for me to understand,

  • but from what I've been told,

  • they have a whole bunch of birds that they tie ropes around,

  • and then the birds catch the fish,

  • and then you take the fish out their mouths.

  • There's a lot more subtlety to it,

  • but I think this is gonna be really cool.

  • M: It is currently 7:35 A.M.,

  • and we have checked into our

  • a onsen hotel.

  • We checked in last night at 10,

  • and we were so exhausted, we were like:

  • VSSSH.

  • And I gotta tell you guys,

  • surprisingly comfortable with all the foaminess.

  • We have a full day ahead of us today,

  • we're going to visit some pig farms,

  • some pumpkin farms.

  • Umthere's my ducky!!!

  • S: *slaps butt to mood music*

  • M: There he is, touchin' his butt.

  • Ooh~I like it when you touch your butt.

  • ~If you want my body~

  • M: ~and you think I'm sexy~ S: We going back to bed? M: Yep!

  • M: There's something really cool

  • uh, this used to be a rice patty over here.

  • And you can actually see the rice patty at the bottom down here,

  • but it's basically mountain water coming down to water everything.

  • S: I want you right now to name a clothing designer.

  • Anyone. One or two clothing designers right now,

  • you probably could very easily do it.

  • Now I want you to name one farmer.

  • Any one farmer!

  • Can you do it?

  • Probably not.

  • And that's kind of what I'm starting to learn here on these trips.

  • I want to get a better appreciation

  • of where our food comes from. Because why do we know so much about our clothes?

  • I know friends that know how many stitches go into a Louis Vuitton bag,

  • but they don't know where their pumpkins come from.

  • So I feel a much deeper appreciation for the things

  • that I'm putting in my body now,

  • and I think that these trips are really

  • enlightening for me.

  • S: I'm a dirty hippie now! M: I agree with you, together!

  • M: We're about to check out, uh, a special type of pork

  • in Gifu. We may not show you guys the inside.

  • We are totally in, like, sanitization [gear].

  • S: Alright, girl, clean your feet!

  • I'm gonna try the buono pork.

  • Aww, this looks good!

  • This is really good!

  • Off-camera: Buono? (Good?) S: Muy buono. (Very good.)

  • M: Whoaaa! S: Chestnuts!

  • S: Meemers!!!

  • M: Meemers! Both: And Spudgy!!

  • S: My boys! M: Hi!

  • S: My two boys! M: Hi, sweet boys, we're home!

  • S: Come here, my fat boy!!!

  • M: He's always scared of luggage. S: Aww, yeah...

  • M: Hi, my baby boy! S: Hey, Meemers...Hey, my sweet boy....

  • M: We miss you too!

  • So I hope you guys enjoyed our crazy adventures in Gifu,

  • we didn't actually end up staying for the third day of the trip.

  • I had a major, major pain flare-up,

  • and it was impossible for me to keep going, so we left the next day to head back to Tokyo,

  • and although I couldn't finish the trip,

  • I still made some incredible memories which are helping me to solidify and build my ladder.

  • And I could've just stayed at home and sat on the couch and had the same

  • amount of pain without any, you know, memory to keep me going.

  • I still think I wanna go on another adventure, don't you, ducky?

  • S: We'redefinitelynext one, let's do it!

  • M: Maybe we'll rent a car, and I'll line it in cushions.

  • S: That might be better.

  • M: Let us know what your favorite part of the adventure was in the comments section below,

  • and...Take care, everyone.

  • I don't know how to sign off because I'm too hungry.

  • Goodbye~~~

  • Farewellll~~

  • Meemers is hungry too~~~

  • It's become awkward for youuuu....

  • *Chuckles* :)

S: We woke up at 5 A.M. today, yes—5 A.M. after going to sleep at 1 A.M.—
