In this video we're exploring more Japanese gourmet home delivery food spots
-
So in the last video we explored all these different gourmet food spots, all throughout Japan and I had so much fun.
-
Trying it out and introducing it to you. I wanted to do another video and luckily all throughout Japan.
-
There's many phenomenal restaurants that deliver directly to my door
-
Which makes staying home that much easier something to note though
-
This in Japanese is called otoriyose, which means gourmet home delivery. It's not that combini food. It's food
-
That's high-quality
-
And it comes at a little bit of a higher price tag
-
Which is almost like getting caviar delivered to your front door
-
so before we start if you wanna help support the channel check out to hold my miso merch if you want to see what I'm
-
Doing on the daily check out my Instagram account. And if you have any questions about Japan check out my discord community
-
So without further adieu bring on the gourmet goodies
-
Number one me katsu and tomorrow Sandow from Roman
-
I didn't have to travel so far because we're staying in Tokyo in Hachioji
-
So today we're trying the new katsu Sando and at tamago Sandow
-
so this place is a jazz bar in cafe in hachioji, and it's been around since
-
1957 and supposedly they make some bomb-ass
-
Katsu sandwiches as well as egg sandwiches. So first of all, let's open this nakatsu-san dough
-
So it's funny in Japanese. People say Sando instead of a sandwich cheese
-
So check out all these layers you can see how thick it is compared to my hand
-
That is so thick the first thing you notice is how many layers of pork slices you have to go through
-
It's like a milky sandwich. There's actually loads of fatty pieces in here to just give it just a little bit extra flavor. Damn!
-
Hmm
-
That is amazing
-
It's the way they actually cook it is a take it out of the fryer then they put it into a pan and they cook
-
It with some sauce with like a so you base and it is delicious the flavorings. It's not too sweet. It's not too salty
-
It's just like right in the middle
-
it really accentuates just the meat itself and how its kind of like, um
-
Probably some mayonnaise in there who doesn't love mayonnaise mayonnaise
-
Me and white bread with a crust cut off can't get better than that
-
And so this is the next
-
sandwich and see it's kind of like mochi mochi and then you just kind of like squishy this egg is oh
-
That is a straight-up egg, that's a flavorful heck
-
It's very much like a souffle like egg, you know
-
I was expecting maybe a thick dense egg because it's just so big but it's nice and light. It's not too salty
-
It's actually well balanced like you can definitely taste the mayonnaise in there. So I like it. Hmm
-
Since we're at home, and we can pretty much do whatever we want. This is
-
now a
-
Double-decker it's not gonna fall because I am a professional eater. I do this for a living
-
guys ready for this
-
Egg in cut this I know what a beast. That's actually pretty delicious. It's hard to fit all in your mouth
-
But just I have a pretty big mouth. No problem. Number two did in de Chocolat from Cafe Lake Oh collage
-
Hope that's right. This one is also from Tokyo Kagurazaka, which is also known as petit paris
-
Meaning that it's a highly competitive area for French restaurants
-
the shop itself is a popular French cafe here and their specialty 13 de Chocolat this you would almost think
-
that you are getting like a Medal of Honor coming from this box or maybe kind of like
-
I thought a watch is nice but a medal of honor like only so many, you know
-
Like if you do something nice for your country and like you you're very brave, they give you like a medal of honor, okay?
-
I think I'd rather get a watch
-
Anyways, it looks like like a premium-grade a top of the food chain top quality
-
Box, so this here is the chocolate cake to win them all and apparently this cake
-
Itself was cooked in a convection oven and then it to cook it
-
They used some steam in order to like preserve which this isn't even a word moist the moist goodness
-
You're gonna in fact this like center bit right here
-
It's not supposed to be fully cooked and it's supposed to just be like melting almost
-
It should be like ganache
-
Here's a picture right here that they sold on the website. I've cut another piece right there
-
You can see that it's a little bit more
-
Melty thick fudgy loveliness right there. Let's take a bite of this centerpiece
-
Can you eat the one that's already cut?
-
I wanted a good one Oh, oh
-
That's so good that is so rich and delicious
-
It's almost like having like straight punch like a melty fudge creamy day texture of chocolate. There's no cake in here
-
There's no like fluffy bready textures to it. It's just a straight-up chocolate
-
It's not that sweet though, but it's like so rich said like it hits the back of your throat. It's so good
-
I feel guilty for having each and every single bite. This would be good with some coffee or some milk. Hmm
-
More like one of my favorite chocolate cakes ever
-
I wanna eat it with vanilla ice cream
-
We have ice cream sandwiches, let me try it
-
So this is kind of like the beauty of being at home. You can justify it whatever you want and this combination
-
Is like Uncle right? All right, let's try this
-
Oh my god, that's good. I feel like I'm in heaven right now. Can we move on to the next one?
-
Because I just need to look
-

spot
-
Three Yamagata you gave from saga Seneca. So I ordered the special meat dish from saga
-
sandy cool all the way from Yamagata prefecture
-
So this spot delivers a three?
-
Beautiful packages of red dye meat thinly sliced so I got this special meat dish from saga
-
Hey, Nico
-
The guy uses less marbled meat as they believe that Hammami is best
-
concentrated in red meat when eating raw before we try it gotta add their special sauce and then as an option one of my personal
-
Favorite things to do is to top it off with a beautiful
-
Yellow raw egg yolk. And if you want it's also recommended to use a shredded vegetables like apples or cucumber
-
Look at that look at all that sauce and the soaked up egg. Yolk, baby. I like it, raw
-
Baby, I like it raw. Oh
-
Nobody knows that song
-
It actually really smells like Korean barbecue
-
That meat is so tender you definitely taste like a soy sauce base to it
-
But it's also mixed in I believe with Vicey Korean missile called coach udon
-
It is delicious. And then just with that egg yolk. It just gives it a nice gooey texture to it
-
The meat itself is really soft and tender
-
I wouldn't say that it melts in your mouth, but I don't really have to chew so much
-
It just kind of goes down really really easily since it is raw you do get a little bit of sashimi
-
Texture if you like sashimi then you'll definitely like this. In fact, you'll find that this is one of the more popular
-
Appetizers out of like a Korean barbecue restaurant. I
-
Know like it was funny because in the last video I also did some raw meat and a lot of you are like yuck
-
I would never try that. That's
-
disgusting a lot of people don't realize is that in Japan the quality of meat and fish is really high and
-
Since it's so high, it's really safe to eat even brah and so a lot of people just saying
-
Oh, that's discussing or probably coming from the perspective from their country
-
Like it's really dangerous to eat raw meat but in Japan, it's really safe
-
And in fact, it's a freaking delicious and just to show you how safe this really is
-
They even have like a proper
-
certificate here that shows like how fresh and
-
Inspected this meat is this is not your fast food place. This is straight up Gor Gor my boom
-
boom boom boom boom boom
-
Number four yo, and I gyoza set from PI don't so this next one hits close to home here in Tokyo
-
It's in de Dabashi area. So this is a Chinese restaurant called pyrin but more than a restaurant
-
It's more of like an izakaya a drinking restaurant
-
so people come here have some drinks eat some Chinese food and
-
Namely gyoza, but truth be told I already had some of this gyoza
-
He actually ordered it about a week ago and I just couldn't help myself. I had to try it
-
So this one is gonna be more of a review but I liked it so much that I had to include it in this
-
So look at these lovely
-
Morsels right in front of me. Basically, we have four different types. And today I've actually cooked it in two different ways
-
This one here is the pan-fried style. And this one here is a steamed style and you can see
-
Or you can smell the goodness on this plate not only are the colors different on the skin
-
But the ingredients inside each one is different as well
-
Let me start with one of my favorites and it's actually these black ones right here
-
This one is the pan-fried one as you can see right there dip it in a little bit of soy sauce
-
You've actually put some vinegar and some rye. You kind of like a spicy oil.
-
Wow the oils of the meat are so good
-
What sets this one apart as you can see that's like a full piece of garlic right there. Mm-hmm. Mmm. Goodness
-
The meat itself is quite sweet
-
It does have a little bit of like kind of like a peppery spice to it
-
But more than anything you can really taste the garlic in here
-
Not just like if you take a bite and a big piece of garlic
-
But the meat itself has a very overwhelming garlic taste which for those garlic lovers is a perfect and I love garlic
-
In fact, it's really different to your kind of say Japanese gyoza, which has got like a thinner skin
-
This one has kind of a really really thick skin. It's a little bit chewy. It's very mochi mochi. Oh, man
-
I'm loving this and then we have three more to go
-
So this one is probably my a second favorite here this red little hitter
-
I'm gonna actually eat it with some rice this time. But yeah, take a bite of this
-
Hmm
-
Yes
-
And this one is quite interesting also because it almost tastes like it has this red paste to it
-
Like a very hot spicy red paste in there the more I eat it. It could actually be my favorite one
-
I'm starting to like this one more and more
-
It has some red peppers scallions in there to think about some bits of pieces of garlic. It is quite spicy
-
Maiko was actually pretty surprised when she had this and she said wow, this is really really spicy
-
I'm like, yeah, I can do it, but I am sweating me so
-
What was your favorite? Garlic and Cinnamon
-
Garlic and Cinnamon
-
Hey, don't tell him okay, since she said it
-
So this one looks like just your regular gyoza pan-fried hot sticker, but it's actually cinnamon flavor
-
Hmm, you can see all like the cinnamon powder all up in there
-
It's almost like a dessert gyoza something you would get at Disneyland kind of like a cinnamon bread, and I've never had
-
Gyoza before that actually has cinnamon
-
So it's quite an interesting take on it and the final one the Ninja Turtle gyoza. Which can you guys guess what's inside this one?
-
So this one here is nieta flavor so you can see it has these little bits of nita very ordinary
-
But at the same time insanely good what a joy
-
All right, bring on the next one and number five Kaizen sanshoku dong from guro. No, Yoshi
-
so this next one we're traveling all the way to a he made which has some of the
-
freshest fish in the world
-
the restaurant itself has more than
-
53 years of history and has more than
-
22 shops all over the judoka and Shikoku area and the fact that we're able to order the food have it delivered
-
Directly here makes me just so happy. Look at this a beautiful
-
Sensation this is called a Sun shokudo meaning three types of fish on a bed of rice
-
So you get these three packages the Otoro, which is fatty tuna
-
and then you get this salmon roe which is known as
-
Kuta and then you get that Looney which is a sea urchin
-
basically
-
You get a hundred grams a hundred grams in the sea urchin is 70 grams and it's just a so
-
much food, like literally I probably recommend to split this up between two people and you know,
-
We have to start with the fatty. Tuna give this old total just dip it in some soy sauce like that
-
You can have it in sashimi style if you want. I put it on a bed of rice
-
Let me just have the rice and look at the head I had the rice is just falling apart
-
That's brilliant, you can just taste all of the oils coming off that fatty tuna
-
you can see the oils just gold sitting right there and like the marbled the fat inside with a
-
Red fish it literally just melts in your mouth. That is amazing. Like just this alone is worth it. And you know what?
-
I just can't wait. I'm just gonna have all of it all at once because it's just so good
-
You can do whatever you want
-
This is my life. And I'm gonna live it the way I want to in the way I want to right now
-
Is it all this in the spoon?
-
Oh, sorry. I'm just getting so excited. Just take a bite of this fully packed spoon
-
The fish it's so fresh it's so
-
Smooth all the different flavors from the oak Toto the salmon roe and the sea urchin just combined
-
It's like a triple turned into a home run
-
This is amazing
-
The fact you're supposed to actually use white rice
-
but instead it almost looks like
-
Again, my butt what Maiko and I do is we take our white rice and we mix it with this packet right here
-
It says Jew
-
kuku my and it's basically kind of like a mixture of different seasons like gives it this kind of
-
Reddish color and and just has additional kind of grains to it makes it a little bit healthier than just white rice
-
The thing is I've put some soy sauce on it, but there's just so much flavor here, especially from the salmon room
-
You really really don't need any soy sauce at all. Maybe just like a little bit Matt is just so good
-
I feel like they've like marinated the salmon roe so it gives it all of this flavor without any soy sauce
-
