-Welcome to "The Tonight Show," everybody!
-
Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate it.
-
Hi. I'm Jimmy Fallon, and I love you.
-
Thank you so much for watching the show.
-
Let's get to some news here.
-
Well, guys, it's been a rough few months for President Trump.
-
His approval rating has plummeted,
-
his handling of the pandemic and protests has been a disaster,
-
and his rally in Tulsa was seen as a flop,
-
so today, he decided to cheer himself up.
-
-President Trump toured a section
-
of newly built border wall in Arizona today.
-
-Yep, Trump visited the wall today.
-
'cause in times of crisis,
-
it's important to be with your loved ones.
-
Trump said he loves barriers that block dangerous things,
-
then went back to not wearing a mask.
-
It was quite a scene when Trump arrived,
-
especially when his entire staff hopped the wall into Mexico.
-
Adiós!
-
See you at my book signing!
-
Yep, Trump celebrated the 200th mile of his wall,
-
even though the border is 2,000 miles long.
-
Instead of finishing the wall,
-
Trump's gonna keep people out with a giant banner that says,
-
"Home of the coronavirus!"
-
And if the wall and banner don't work,
-
Trump has an even better idea to keep people out --
-
He's gonna build a ramp
-
with a very slight decline at the end.
-
[ As Trump ] "They'll never, ever be able to get
-
off that ramp, not with leather bottoms.
-
Very slippery with leather bottoms.
-
By the way, I know Leather Bottoms,
-
and I have not had any relationship with her.
-
Leather and I -- purely professional."
-
[ Normal voice ] Leather Bottoms?
-
Once Trump was done with the wall,
-
he made another stop in Arizona.
-
-President Trump is speaking to thousands of young supporters
-
at a mega-church in Phoenix, Arizona.
-
-Yeah, Trump gave a speech at a local church,
-
and the biggest part of that speech
-
was when he showed everyone
-
how he can drink communion wine out of one hand.
-
Pssh.
-
It wasn't just Trump who was traveling.
-
Today, Mike Pence went to Wisconsin.
-
Let's see how that went.
-
Trump can't go down ramps. Pence can't go up stairs.
-
Pretty soon, the whole administration's
-
gonna be sitting on stair lifts like...
-
Whew.
-
Pence was so embarrassed
-
that he actually had some color in his face.
-
People are still talking about this.
-
During a speech on Saturday, Trump said
-
he told his administration to slow down testing,
-
but yesterday, Trump said
-
the comment was semi-tongue-in-cheek.
-
And today, Trump tweeted...
-
Twitter didn't fact-check that one.
-
They just put on a "yikes" emoji.
-
Yep, everyone's confused about whether Trump is serious
-
about asking to slow down testing, or if he's just joking.
-
Well, let's see if Dr. Fauci's testimony today
-
cleared things up.
-
-None of us have ever been told to slow down on testing.
-
That just is a fact.
-
In fact, we will be doing more testing.
-
-Yep, Fauci said they haven't slowed down testing.
-
He was basically like, "Yeah, we stopped listening to Trump
-
a long time ago."
-
Well, this is good. Fauci said a vaccine could be ready
-
by the end of this year or early 2021.
-
You could tell things are tense with Trump
-
'cause Fauci said the vaccine should be ready
-
the day after Joe Biden's inauguration.
-
[ Chuckles ]
-
Fauci is optimistic about a vaccine.
-
After four months of working in the White House,
-
he's like, "Look, by the end of the year,
-
I'm definitely injecting something into my veins, so..."
-
Dr. Fauci also said there's a surge of coronavirus cases
-
in Florida.
-
Yep, the virus spent the winter in New York.
-
Now it's spending the summer in Florida.
-
It's basically the opposite of my grandma.
-
You know, it seems like the news about coronavirus
-
gets more and more depressing each day.
-
Do we have anything that can cheer us up?
-
-Nine different types of hand sanitizer
-
may contain a potentially fatal ingredient.
-
-Well, that didn't work.
-
And finally, Black Lives Matter protests
-
are continuing across the country.
-
And for a lot of white people,
-
this is their first time joining a march,
-
so they might feel uncomfortable chanting
-
or don't know what to say.
-
Well, there's a new album that's here to help.
-
Check it out.
-
-Are you a white person going to Black Lives Matter protests
-
for the first time but aren't sure what to say?
-
Presenting "Protest Chants for White People."
-
We've got chants like...
-
We also have call-and-response chants like...
-
Wow. They totally get it.
-
And yes, our chants are in rhythms
-
that white people are used to...
-
...along with the chants that could have rhymed
-
but definitely do not.
-
So, white people, chant out loud and proud,
-
but not too loud. It's not about you.
