Allen has shown Rico and I so much kindness that we wanted to take that kindness and celebrate those that are in their community doing good during this really trying time.
-
This issue, hearts up lie.
-
Today we have an amazing story of a woman named Bridget who was a security guard at a hospital.
-
We're going to be meeting her in just a little bit.
-
Before we get into that, though.
-
Let's meet Edgar, who we have enlisted to help deliver.
-
A delicious surprise to Bridget.
-
Now you're probably gonna recognize anger.
-
He was the pizza delivery guy who delivered pizza on stage at the Oscars the year that Ellen posted.
-
So, Edgar, are you there?
-
Yes, I'm here.
-
I think it's so good to see you.
-
I heard that you're doing something that's pretty amazing.
-
Nurses and doctors are risking their lives.
-
Recently we delivered hundreds of pizzas for nurses in hospital.
-
You are incredible anger.
-
I mean, you are providing so many meals to these front line workers and we would love for you to do us a favor.
-
Can you deliver another one to our friend Bridget.
-
Sounds good.
-
Let's do it way.
-
We've heard of everything that you're doing during this pandemic, and we literally wanted everyone to hear your story.
-
I am a security guard, a little company.
-
Mary in San Pedro, California I'm a security guard there in the ER, and I'm literally the first person that they see.
-
I take the doctors and the nurses temperatures before they start their shift.
-
I got to make sure they're not running a fever.
-
I'm the one directing the patients as they come in.
-
Let them know, you know, the love ones can't stay.
-
So that's despite the fact that it's so rewarding for you to be working in the hospital.
-
It has to be scary.
-
I would think it is scary because people are coming in and they're sick.
-
That's a scary situation and all.
-
And I want to go back home to my kids safe and and, you know, Well, I'm just staying positive, keeping that energy up, you know, I wish they could see my smile when they, you know, master thing.
-
Here's the thing that that Rico and I find most incredible about you is that you are working these incredibly long hours.
-
And yet you still are finding the time to give back to your community outside of work.
-
It's two guys here on my street, Mr G.
-
And then I have Andrew.
-
They've been homeless here for a good year.
-
To whatever I cook the boys.
-
What if I have sandwiches?
-
I have water.
-
We make sure they have something to eat and something to drink every day.
-
What drives you to go help others and give back?
-
Eight years ago, we when my kids was homeless and I had cancer and we was living in the shelter and competent.
-
So we've came a long, long ways, Rico and Jenny a long ways.
-
Way made it.
-
We made it.
-
And so I always remember that time.
-
And I always look out for Andrew.
-
Mr G, golf with him.
-
Somebody looked out for me.
-
Somebody looked out for me.
-
Amazing.
-
This is amazing hope.
-
Is there somebody at the door?
-
Yes, I got 40 0 guys, so dies.
-
You are a single mama.
-
You are on the front lines.
